Atari has set the "no later then" date at March of 2010.

This is a bad, bad thing, but they did it anyway.

I hope Atari doesn't put to much pressure on the Devs. I prefer a nice bug free finished game over a rushed monstrosity (dare I name Legacy)

from what i hear, atari is not involved at all, besides giving them their name.

I hadn't seen that Atari made it a hard date. If they did, that concerns me because they are the publisher, and they will put pressure on Cryptic to make that date.

I'd rather see it be 3, 6 or more months late and be right than to rush it to market. But then they are working on someone else's money at this point (even if its revenue from CoH and CoV) and they have contractual commitments. The money does run out at some point.

At this point I'll just go out on a limb here and say this thing isn't coming out in 2009. They're not far enough along, there's no signs of Beta and the Beta will likely be around half a year long. They've still got most of the Klingon Content to do not to mention much of the Federation content... I'd say at this point... at the earliest... early 2010 with a strong possibility of being pushed to mid-late 2010.

I don't see the Klingon content stopping beta. We've all been in betas where they were still working "other" aspects of the game while we tested what was done. Besides, most of the primary game systems will be the same for both factions.

We all would rather them wait until they had a good, immerseive, polished, and relatively bug free game.

Having said that, if the Star wars or the new WoW mmorph comes out at close to the same time this one does, it's going to be rough.

No way are we going to see this in 2009. If so, we'd be seeing alot more information at this point, and an approaching beta, I hope we'll see it by Fall of 2010, but even that I think is a stretch.

I'm thinking it will be released summer 2032 in honor of Zefram Cochrane's birth. By this time, all of the bugs will have been squashed and we can have a problem free game.
