the groom should wear the red shirt.

That's star fleet weddings. Klingons just whack the bride upside the head and if he survives, they're married as soon as he gets out of the hospital.

I've been waiting to see a post like this.

I never did understand in game weddings. Just not my thing ;)

Mine either. I've never figured it out. :)

It's OK when I know the couple involved really are a couple in RL.

I'm a little creeped out by it otherwise.

Especially when there's a 90% chance that the female involved is probably a 40 year-old balding man.

I went to an internet wedding once in EQ. Free stat food and items. Woulda been a little better if it wasn't at a tower in the middle of a desert where these reaper things kept spawning, but whatcha gonna do?

I always found in-game marriages to be a bit odd.

Then again, real ones tend to be too.

Yeah, I just don't understand two people pretending to get married in game. That's just too weird!

...But um, can I marry one of my bridge crew npcs, you know, if she's hawt? :o

I believe that's a court martial offence ? The brig might make a good honeymoon spot if you're determined enough ? ;)

I remember seeing a few weddings in EQ

and being invited to some in Second Life...

on the bright side..since you captain the ship in STO..you can perform your own marriage :)

I still don't understand it tho

What I've seen in online MMO's, if there's not an option to get married, players will make their own way. One I played, don't remember the name, there was a church in at least one of the towns. So what would be couples would do is put out a call for someone to play the part of the priest and bring in a bunch of guests.

But how would they do anything like that in this game? I think it might be funny once or twice to see a bunch of star ships grouped in some sector, and the couple giving their vows to each other over the comms. "You may kiss...I mean...uuh...you're married!" But after that...

Or if you really wanted to make it interesting, do it Pirates of the Caribbean style and get married while in ground combat ;)

I find it funny when males play as women and vice-versa. Things that make you go hmmmm...
