alright here me out here.

sense the game is 100 ish years from the events of nemesis, and voyager came back with a pluthera of Borg information , i think there could be a system to system, or sector to sector, implementation of a public transwarp hub where each system/sector, ( within reason) was connected by a transwarp conduit to a regional hub that would allow faster then warp transportation around the quadrant,

this would allow for a somewhat realistic form of transportation, where you have standard warp drive within the sector you are in, but wont take hours and hours to get to another sector.

30 years. Nemesis being in 2379 and ST:O starting in 2409.

I believe they've already made mention of putting something like this into the game already.

It's all speculation, of course, but I think a lot of us agree that you won't find TW terminals to be very common.

sorry for the error in timeline, im tired heh.

but anyway I was just thinking about the travel aspect and how systems can/ will be claimed by fleets and such and I was just thinking if they sectioned it off like they it would make it a bit easier .

I sorta see them being used more as 'checkpoints', that you'll have to discover, and they'll be relatively sporadic. You may enter a transwarp terminal at one end, but have no idea where it may take you until you get there. I am hoping they will not be the most common form of travel used.

whatever happened to The quantum slipstream drive technology that was obtained by Voyager from the Delta Quadrant. I haven't heard any mention of it, or if it was ever going to be in STO

Wouldn't the slipstream drive be widespread in Federation vessels by now?

the quantum slipstream was in voyager and was actually on the dauntless (nx-01-a) that was an alien ship.

voyager did have slipstream briefly though, in the episode where it fell out of slipstream and crashed on the ice planet and only harry kim and chakoatay survived

Yes Quantum slipstream was experimental then and was dismantled after nearly getting em killed (i know it got em killed but lets not go into another alternate universe debate :)) They would store the technology till it was perfected, it is possible it is in use by 2409 but i think transwarp is more likely since i remember seeing it mentioned before.

Transwarp Hubs and 'worm Holes', will most likely be placed and restricted by where the game needs them.

They cannot make 'instant' or even 'very fast' travel to every point on the map, as people would finish playing the game too quickly to substain the game. They would get bored, demand more content, and when it didn't arrive, they would quit.

In the alternate future where Ensign Kim, and Chakotay, had returned to the alpha quadrant using the slipstream technology the federation had made it fully workable by the time they returned to the voyager to save the voyager from its fate.

So, since the voyager did indeed return with information on the slipstream it is possible for the federation to create a fully working ship at some point in time, perhaps the 30 years would be enough, if the game creators decide to have it...

But yes, the Transwarp hubs that launch ships into different sectors exist, I do not see the need for the slipstream technology to be in the game. It might be interesting to have in the game, but not necessary for long range travel. Maybe used in mission specific situations as both a test and chance to explore deep space. I'd give it some heavy limitations though.

In the novels, the Aventine and the same class ships(Vesta?) are being fitted with slipstream drives.

Cryptic has stated they will research the potential of every Trek source for material, but they have not promised they will all be incorporated.
