I looked through the archives and found no similar thread, so I don't think anyone has brought this up.

I for one, would like to see in the game scenarios, missions, and stories that are tributes to the original crew. You know what I mean, perhaps a search to find some important item that was hidden by Kirk, or a lost equation by Spock, or the design of a prototype nacelle by Scotty, etc.

I don't mean that the game should be full of the stuff, but it would be nice from time to time in the game to be reminded of those who started it all.

Personally, I'd love to command an original Constitution-class starship, even if it had to be the weakest ship in the game. :)

As a fan of the old series I totally support you here. But for that matter what about going back to some of the place we saw in TOS - like the flying cities, the ruins of M-113 and it's salt sucking inhabitants, Sherman's planet from the Trouble with Tribbles episode, stumble across some of Mudd's androids, or the gangster planet which by now should be imitating TOS era Federation.. just to name a few. Again these shouldn't be everywhere, but the occasional hat tip to the old show would be much appreciated by old fans.

Haha hidden by Kirk. Easter egg hunt for Kirk's lost treasures!

I'm sure there will be some tribute to just about every character in the series even characters not very well known. Since the characters themselves aren't going to be in the game there has to be some mention or some event/mission involving old classic missions.

I've always like the idea of having Holodeck missions where you take part of the captain and command famous Federation ships on documented missions.

But rather then playing as that captain, your captain dons there uniform and plays the part, like you do in Holo-Novels.

Even little blurbs can work like the recent movie demonstrated.

You'd probably get a smirk if during a mission a bridge officer said, "Isn't this where Scotty lost that beagle?" Those that get it will smirk anyway. Those that don't may just experience the comical quizzical look while they continue about the mission.

Yes I think they should throw little easter eggs in like this.

While the discussed "treasure hunt" sort of vibe feels a little contrived to me, I'd love to see some missions which are homages to any and all of the series, including things that take us back to specific locations from episodes or involve characters from episodes (I'd love to see another mission involving Trelane like the one in Star Trek: Judgment Rites).

Follow up missions so we can see what became of that race or that creature we saw in the series would be cool, i think we'l have them in game since Awen made that thread about unfinished storylines, why would they do that if not to get potential mission ideas?

They've said there will be time travel. Why not a mission or two involving traveling back to the days of the original Enterprise?

Also, the Excalibur class (http://www.startrekonline.com/ships/excalibur) is pretty much a black Constitution class. As far as I can see the only diferences are the color and the name, and you can probably change the color as part of ship customization. From the sound of it it's set to be a good all-around vessel too.

Like I said, I wouldn't want to run into them constantly, but the occasional easter egg, or mission would be a nice tip of the hat, I think.

They should have a Starfleet musuem on Earth that you can visit, giving us the chance to walk around and see various holograms or statues for the various characters. If it was in space you could also have some ship types there from earlier times, kinda like that last episode of ENT when Riker asks Troi if she's ever been in the NX Enterprise at some musuem or memorial.

Yeah! That's a really cool idea! An in-game museaum or something would be great!

just make sure if the ship was destroyed it is only a holo-recreation, I don't want to see the NCC-1701 around, NCC-1701A is fine, but the first one is obviously space dust.

I'd be happy just seeing an image of it, lol. I think a virtual museum, maybe at starfleet headquarters, is a pretty cool idea. Bravo.

They could have a big statue of the 1701 made out of dilithium :D
