I've closed the poll, as it was becoming obvious someone was voting multiple times to corrupt the results. At the point I noticed the trend, though, the Galaxy and the Intrepid classes were tied for a marginal lead over the Sovereign, followed slightly behind by the Akira.

Yes, Melmacians do indeed prefer the Akira design for it's special feline purloining qualities. Or 'purrrrloining' for what it's worth.

Ah, well...I'll give you this. I believe the Nebula is better looking than the original Constitution, the Constellation for sure, the Oberth and a few others. I liked the Steamrunner's function in A2 a lot, but I do think it's ugly as sin, as well.

I love the appearance of the Sovereign, inside and out, as well. It's really only not my favorite because it is the most powerful, I'm a sucker for the underdog. That's why Akira is my first pick, Cryptic content notwithstanding I'd definitely take the ugly little Steamrunner as my second, but tied with the Nova, which really looks a lot like a baby Sovereign. It being a small ship, and looking like a Sovereign gives it a lot of points.

Be nice if eventually we can play them as a faction...I assume they are still not members of any other major power in the region? I admit I am ignorant about them for the most part...but still always liked them and their odd technology.

Eh. The Tholians I love are from Star Fleet Battles, not any of the series or films aside from their appearance in TOS. I will admit to being VERY pleased to see the ENT episodes with them in it - the VISUALS, at least - especially of the starships - were spot-on and gorgeous.

While only the BoP, Vorcha, and Raptor are KNOWN; I think it's safe to say that the K't'inga and Negh'Var are pretty much guaranteed, and maybe even the D7, but I'd think not since it pretty much is just a less advanced K't'inga. There's also the D5 from Enterprise.
Also, there were some unnamed Klingon classes from Enterprise, the designs of which STO could use and possibly give names to (Particularly the first one, the other two players might be able to recreate by customizing a BoP).
http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Goroth%27s_starship
http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Malik%27s_Bird-of-Prey
http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Laneth%27s_starship
It really depends. There was also an interview (I don't recall which one) which suggested that perhaps we'll see Gorn, Nausicaan, and Orion player ships too. So if the Federation has 12 ship configurations, we might simply see 3 Klingon, 3 Orion, 3 Nausicaan, and 3 Gorn configurations too, giving the Klingon Empire 12 configurations too. The Vorcha, Raptor, and BoP might be it for the Klingons.

Nothing wrong with that. For all intents and purposes the Galaxy-class design was the precedent for the '90s' era Trek style influence on most of the ships on that list. I'm amazed out of 90 votes the Ambassador hasn't received a single one.

Constellation 0% (1)
Constitution 4% (5)
Constitution(2009) 7% (8)

Excalibur 3% (4)
Excelsior 8% (9)
Galaxy 10% (11)
Intrepid 10% (11)
Miranda/Soyuz 1% (2)
Nebula 5% (6)
New Orleans 0% (1)

If you have 100 votes, then the percents should exactly match the number of votes. Like, say, that Steamrunner? With 1 vote, it actually has 1% of the vote.

I hope that if the ship is in the game (which it should! Its a Federation work horse with over 80 built and more ordered) that it comes with the updated nav-deflector ie like the Galaxy class and not the orginal Nebula.

Sorry folks, but the poll has been thrashed....I find it VERY hard to believe the NX class would receive 18 or 20 votes inside of just a few minutes when the frequency of overall voting wasn't even that high. Sorry for wasting everyone's time.

Ah bummer the poll got killed by an ignoramus. I dunno which I'd vote for though: Intrepid or Nova. My only complaint about them is the bioneural gelpacks, I know too much about hardware neural networks for that idea to jive with me in terms of practicality.
