Star Trek XI and STO are combined resrouces. I would hate to see the Star Trek XII that may conflict with STO in the future.

I guess you did not really read.. because of the new timeline... Any ST Movies.. will be in that new timeline.. it will not affect STO.. STO is still in the prime timeline......

if anything the only thing missing from future movies is a) romulas, or b) vulcan if they make a movie in the past like STXI this is ofc if they make a movie after STXI to be part of the new timeline.
Otherwise its still business as normal, hell they might even make a STar Trek movie based on what events take place in STO :)

actually in the future movies... the romulons are still around... Romulos does not explode until 2387... movies start at 2233... Romulons will still be a threat.. The vulcans will be a race on the verge of extinction.. which gives another avenue to take the movies down.. think of it...
TOS: Journey to Babel: will be completely different Spock's Mother is Dead
Voy: Did Tuvok survive? if not, this can cause changes in Voyager.... Who infiltrated the Maquis? Where they Effective.. was Voyager even sent after them?
So many different Roads to take.. With the Movie Star Trek is New and fresh. IIf Paramount wanted they could create a New Star Trek Next Generation with in the Alternate Timeline... because of the events of Nero Changing the past they could take it anywhere they wanted.....
Heck.... Does Enterprise C even come to the Klingons rescue at Narendra III?
I am sure you get my point.....

I am still confused by something... why was there a need to post this? Why would anyone think that what happend in the STO timeline would be relevant in the movie and vice versa. It has always been clear (so I thought) that the timelines were obviously independent of each other save the people and objects that were shared by both timelines (aka Spok and his ship and Nero and his ship)..... Makes me wonder why they got a lot of us in the community bombarding them with questions about this to prompt them to put it up. However, I feel they did a great job with the graphics on the pictures for those that wanted the clarification!

I agree that it seems obvious....however, have you seen how many threads have been posted by confused readers/viewers? More people than I ever thought don't understand the concept of 'alternate story.'
These are the few effects from the film that will effect our game timeline.
1. Romulus is gone.
2. Spock is gone. Chances of return extremely minimal.
3. Geordi LaForge is going to be absolutely furious whenever you encounter him in the game.

Looks like the article was a waste of effort. The confused are still confused.
