Any chance we will be able to see this type of weapon system on our vessels? It could act as like a kind of curse weapon so it would do damage over time, so if you arnt very good at aiming with your other weapons:p this could be quite useful.

If I remember correctly aren't biogenic weapons illegal in Federation space?
IDK about the Klingons though, the honorability of a weapon like a bio-weapon is open to interpretation.

Isolythic subspace weapons where banned by the Khittomer accords, but with the Klingon situation as it is the Federation might have acces to those. :D
same for biologic weapons

Also what race is Kes from VOY? Her race would be good in combat as they can do stuff to people with their abilities.

she's an Ocampa. She was an exception not the rule. Most of them had some level of telepathic ability. Her's exceeded theirs.
It was very unusual. I think somewhere it was stated that MOst of the Ocampans used to have that kind of power but it was lost. I'm unsure though.

They did say that, but they were talking thousands of years prior to voyager.

And in the episode of Voyager "Living Witness" the Android Doctor created a biogenic weapon that is delivered via the ship's phaser array.

Wicked, wicked Janeway.
The only thing is - it didn't really happen as it was an inaccurate representation of the events of the "Warship" Voyager.
Even so, it was a cool episode and a cool idea.
They used a biogenic weapons in Klingon Academy and the feds had a weapon that "shook" the enemy ship (i think) and that killed off crew.
I'm sure Cryptic will think of some crew killing weapons perhaps...
Thoughts...

Hm while the use of biogenics (http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Biogenic_weapon) would let us kill off the crew while saving the ship (basically letting me cruise around in a Klingon warbird for awhile), that might be too powerful to use ingame like others have said.
Same goes for metagenic weapons (http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Metagenic_weapon) which introduces a major plague onto a planet to kill everything.
I'm more optimistic about subspace weapons like tricobalt warheads (http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Subspace_weapon) though...
Sorry if I come off sounding like a smart-aleck but I love dictionaries and M-A :)

They should be unavailable in STO.

I can see some nanite infections, computer viruses, things like that, but organic/biological weapons? I don't think Starfleet would sanction their use, and the Klingons would think that they would be a coward's way of fighting.
Now the Romulans on the other hand... that's right up their alley. :)
