Ok let me explain.

Blue squares are federation space
Red squared are klingon space
White is unclaimed
Green is nutrel

Each square is a sector

Each sector requiers a combination of either destroeyd enemy ships or missions compleated to claim it for your faction.

Only sectors connected to a sector claimed by your faction can be claimed,

Sectors your faction claimes can have weps platforms and space staions deployed

the closer you get to the oppsing factions homeworld the harder it is to turn the sector to your faction.

The closer the mission is to the enemys border the more of a reward you get,

Missions compleated in your claimed area or in uncharted areas give your faction more rescourses to play with.

If by some chance the home planet is taken, after a duration of 24 hours the faction occuping the enemys home world gains a some recignition < a title or somthing to add a cosmetic to there ship/char.

After the 24 hours a huge offensive of ships rallies together <mostly AI> to push the invaders back and the map is basicaly reset, either that or Q comes along and says sommin like, "I like this game lets have another good job *winner*" snaps his fingers and resets the fed/klink and nutrel zones, or whatever.

The basic idea is, the PvPers that like to pvp can do it, the PVE'er can go to "safe" space and help out that way and if they want to pvp they can.

Also with all the stations and platforms everywhere it will be very hard to gank someone in the oppsing factions space.

This way the war can evolve.

This is similer to the way it was on dynavers in Starfleet command 3 and it was realy enjoyable evan my gf liked it and she hates PvP.

yes the concept is stolen from warhammer online, but tbh I belive this would make it very fun, and homeworld capture <if done right> might happen once every 3-6 monthes because of how big space actualy is lol.

Thoughts ??

Areas of space should be combat zones if you go in them you risk being attacked by other players noone should be tottally safe its space , supposed to be dangerous. No zoned or instanced PVP.

I like parts of your idea. As I've said many times, I hope crafters have the chance to made destructible structures such as point defense, shield gnerators, science labs, sensor networks, astrometrics labs, etc. With these they will help defend space, give info on nearby space, and gain resources/tech.

I'm not sure this is going to extend to the home planet, and I hope it's not as rigid as you make it. I hope there are MANY more sectors, and flanking divide/conquer type tactics can be implemented. That would be awesome.

Yes I would assume the amount of sectors would be meny meny times what i drew, it was just to give a basic idea lol.

But i belive that they should make the overall map type thing similer to warhammer, going back and fourth across the universe kicking eachother in all the time.

Equal content to both styles of play.

I'm all for it =)

If you make the best stuff something you only get through PvP, then you're forcing people into PvP and that limits how many people will eventually keep on playing the game.

If I don't want PvP and the closer I get to enemy borders the better the rewards, I should still be able to get the rewards without worrying about being one-shotted by some damn grief player.

Quit thinking like a WoWtard. You won't be one shotted. Cryptic has already said that combat will take a slower pace than in other games, so chances are pretty good you will have a chance to run, or outfight said griefer.

This next part is not directed at you specifically Starchild, but at the mentality that you and the other PVE only crowd seem to possess.

You guys make it sound like every time you even get near an enemy you die instantly because they are just that much more powerful than you are, when 9 times out of 10 i have watched a player get attacked, he just stands there and dies rather than fight back because he doesn't want to take the time to fight, and would rather just run back, so don't sit there and tell me that griefers are the bane of all existence and they go around one shotting everyone, because frankly it isn't true, and it's becoming tiresome to hear the same nonsense day after day when you know, and i know, that it's a lie and you are just perpetuating the same tired old "It's not fair!" stereotype simply because you don't want to ever actually acknowledge the possibility that maybe there is someone better than you, and you might have to actually work for something you want rather than have everything handed to you on a silver platter. So don't sit there and tell me that you deserve all the rewards and none of the risk all while spewing some mindless nonsense about fairness. You do not have a divine right to never get attacked in a pvp zone and this is not going to be a pve only game.
