So, we have the two factions represented, Command and Engineering; what about Science and Medical?
I am sure an Olympia Class may be in the offing, but what about the Sciences? I don't think too many people are going to be hot to captain an Oberth.
So what do you all think?

We don't have command and engineering. We have Engineering, tactical and Science. Some have speculated that medical is a subclass of science, and that command is done with everyone as we will all be captains.
We already have a science vessel here:

I recommend you read this:

But yeah, I hope to enjoy the scientific aspects of the game :)

beat me to it :P
hell, the Nova is one of my overall favorite starship classes... i'm personally hoping that it'll be my starting ship. if you're unfamiliar with the design, here is a shot of the USS Equinox:

As much as I might want to see an Olympic-class and Oberth-class playable they might be too weak and useless at everything that's not their specialty. Hopefully that doesn't stop them though. :p

And then, of course, there's also the Nebula Class (w/ Science Pod)

I don't think the Oberth class will even be in the game.
As far as science there's
Nebula
Nova
Luna
And there's really no need for more than one Hospital class ship: Olympic

Remember, an Oberth was fighting the Borg Cube in First Contact.
I'd love to play with an Oberth. More so than a Nova.

I almost love the Nova class enough to say that if it's NOT available I wouldn't play STO... but just BARELY not... that being said... I hope and pray that we can use it... I plan to play in a smaller science ship regardless, and use it as a ship support platform for PVP/Fleet Engagments.

They're remade classes like the Constitution and Raptor so why not Oberth? I bet it'll at least be a non-playable ship-class.

Because the Nova Class was built to phase out the Oberth. Just like Luna was to phase out the Miranda and Akira was to phase out the excelsior.

In several interviews, they have referred to the Intrepid-class (i.e. USS Voyager) as being a science ship (or at least capable of being configured as a dedicated science ship).
I plan on playing on the Klingon side, but that does not mean I will automatically choose and set up a strictly combat ship. It would be interesting to play a Klingon science ship.
I will be very disappointed if the content created for the Klingon faction lacks science-themed missions. Klingons aren't just blood-thirsty marauders. Klingons have scientists and engineers, and that should be reflected in the Klingon missions.
Since we will be able to keep our previous ship(s) when we upgrade to a new one, and then be able to choose which ship we fly at a given time, I personally plan on having one ship that is configured primarily for combat, and another that is configured primarily for science, and another that is a 50/50 hybrid of combat / science.
