I have done searches and have not found answers to some question that I have and others may. If I am incorrect please link me to the correct information. But first

I have been playing Eve-Online since 2004 and since that time I have been looking for a space MMO.
Reading thru the forums it seems that Cryptic is offering customization that CCP has been refusing even tho it is highly requested by subscribers like ship color, fleet decals among other things. So far what I have been reading STO is not another clone of what is already out there. This is very attractive to those already playing other MMOs with the same theme…. space.

My questions:
1.I have found that there will be resources but will there be industry and an economy that players can affect and take part in. This is a question posed by friends that are solid industrialist in another game. An do you have to be in a fleet to build and obtain better ships as referred to in one post I found.

2.I have read as much about PvP in the forums as I can but is Cryptic offering videos of actual PvP in gameplay. This is something that I would really like to see. Not just cuts from the development view or slices from the existing video but a full combat sequence from beginning to end. I would like to see that it is not I have a better tank and better weps clash less than 30 seconds to pod kill. Are there any true tactics involved? Let us see, please.

3.Does Cryptic have an open suggestion box instead of the forums?

4.I see raves and complaints about ship designs and names and I understand that in launch they will be limited. I can see by the post that people want variety in looks but something fitted to the STO verse. I have seen several suggestions of players wants of designing their own ships but if they had a variety of ship designs that perform the same function it would maybe ease the want to design their own ships. So do the developers STO take mesh submissions for ship designs. I myself would offer them for free and I am not a beginner in 3D design.

5.Can someone offer a thread that would include all of the areas of information for the up to date info on development. Like reference to twitter problem there is I don’t twitter but would like to see every avenue of info.

Hope I have not asked any stupid questions. I remember watching TOS as a child with my dad, have watched every series and every movie over and over again with my son. This is a MMO come true for all three of us from ages 73 to 19. We would just like alittle iceing on our anticipation and are willing to get out and push if the warp core is offline.:D

Well in a niverse were money has been abolished it will be quite difficult to have an economy. But cryptic has said that there will be certain types of money, so I would usppose an economy.

There has been no PVP vids released, but they did have an ask cryptic about how ship combat will work, so I would imagine it would be similar to that.

Nope, only the forums.

Cryptic has a good system for the ship customisation, you can add your own decals, move nacceles also use colours, etc, etc. They do not need new ship designs.

If you mean a thread whih has all the information about STO here it is: http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=14535

Money isn't abolished, there's plenty of currencies (http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Category:Currency) in the star trek universe, the Federation have just moved on from the traditional currency notion of paying you for your time/work, and instead use credits.

They have said that fleets can pool resources and build better ships. They have also said that there is going to be a player economy.

It's kind of up in the air after that. A lot of people around here complain about 'money' because the federation didn't use it, but this is a game, there is going to be some system to denote the worth of things and make it easier to trade. We'll see.

We haven't seen, but the multiple magazines that have seen the game have been impressed with the tactical nature.

3.Does Cryptic have an open suggestion box instead of the forums?
You can PM the devs (Awen, Daeke, Rekhan, etc) but you should probably keep it to the forums so we can discuss it. They read it usually. Pestering with suggestions may not be received very well. At least this is my take, I have so many suggestions that I think I would just bother them if I started suggesting them directly to them.

4.I see raves and complaints about ship designs and names and I understand that in launch they will be limited. STO doesn't take submissions right now. I just started working on 3D stuff so it would be neat if I could work on a ship for STO, but that doesn't seem to be something Cryptic is into.

We will have a lot of customization within their system though. The one of the most recent article in the news section has some pictures

5.Can someone offer a thread that would include all of the areas of information for the up to date info on development. Like reference to twitter problem there is I don’t twitter but would like to see every avenue of info.
There is a couple stickied, I could give you the names of everyone on twitter if that's what you mean? there was a post but it's kind of fell down by now.

Welcome to the forums and hope that helps. Cryptic has kept a rather tight lip on a lot of things. Like all of us I just recommend some patience and an open mind :)

1. If you're asking if the economy in Star Trek Online will be as... robust... as the EVE Online one, I sincerely and highly doubt it. EVE, from what I understand, is almost entirely based around its huge economy and player-driven market system. In the Star Trek universe, technology such as replicators has done away with a lot of material desire for humanity, and other them some interstellar trading and tech research, there really isn't a lot in terms of cutthroat business and economic models. I'm sure we'll have SOMETHING in terms of player economy, but if you want EVE-level economy, stick with EVE.

2. There's only one gameplay video at all out right now, and it's from last year. They have said combat is a lot more slow paced and tactical then your usual space-based dogfight shoot-em-up game. Positioning will matter, rerouting power to the appropriate systems will matter, etc. Lots of threads talking about this.

3. No. Just the forums.

4. Cryptic is not accepting player-designed ships, nor do I think they will be using anything other then what's in the show and what they create themselves or perhaps at most borrow some inspiration from a few of the novels. They have said there will be at least 12 ship base configurations, which of course can be HEAVILY modified both in terms of upgrades and appearance (saucer section, warp nacelles, weapons systems, shields, and tons more).

That is what I meant, it's just I had to write very quick cos I had to leave.
