My species: Well its hard to down tone such epic detail about ourselves but very well I shall be modest; We are like your typical humanoid, arm, leg, all the practical parts but generally better. Bit of flying, planet destroying, display a poerful aura (not to mention the hairgets a good style over) our species is an ascended branch from you earthlings, you'll find us under the term: Homosuperion

Of course we never do think too highly of ourselves...

The fur we ditched, the tail was sold on ebay but yes the hair still does grow, appropiate when attending a bryan adams convention.

I am a humanoid indistinguishable from a normal human visually but with an added ability to shoot lasers from my eyes. this is because the path of evolution on my planet was remarkably similar to Earth except one day some creature got a mutation that let it shoot lasers from its eyes. Through survival of the fittest, the creatures that shot lasers from their eyes conquered the planet and now everyone from that planet can shoot lasers. From their eyes. :cool:

But in terms of releplay i will act and be human.

I haven't really decided yet. My first captain will definitely be Federation and non-human but other than that I'm gonna wait and see how flexible the character creator will be.

My name denotes my species. The love child between a Vulcan Male on Pon Farr and the Betazoid Female who empathicly felt his lust and helped. Leaves an interesting dichotomy with the two different mindsets. Is empathic and capable of fully fledged mind melds.

Human Federation Captain. Humanity really is a species I can get behind. Generally every other world is a homogenized one, and it's not hard for unification. Earth has a background of hundreds of different and diverse societies that band together and create the Federation/Starfleet. That appeals to me. Plus I don't want to create my own species.

Anyhow, I want to be a cyborg (NOT borg). I would have been human underneath all the machinery but I want to be a part of the klingon team so I will probably pick a different base race. I sure hope they allow me to make my character look like a cyborg, but if they did that there would be random borg characters running around commanding federation ships....

As already pointed out, Worf was full-blooded Klingon, merely RAISED by humans.

I have to disagree with your disagreement.

Multiple species accepting one another and working as a cooperative , unified entity is the heart and soul of what Star Trek is about, IMHO. What better way is there to demonstrate acceptance of other species then by MATING with someone from another species? :confused:

If I do make a race, it's backstory is that the species accidentally built something that blew their whole planet up, except for their prototype ship. And maaan they will be stupid. But they were lucky enough to meet the Federation and BAM, the race survives. I hope I might be able to get some of my crew dropped off to continue the species. Anyway I'm figuring a lot of the problem is the lack of land space so I was thing they lived in a very cold environment so I'll make them very resistant to cold if I can, resistant to telepathy but quite stupid. Got to make sure I don't build a mary sue race, otherwise I'll look quite the hypocrite when I complain about them. Plus it's funny. I might, if I feel like it, go into quite some detail building up to the "Woops" moment where they blow their planet up because it's quite funny.

I would go for a Vulcan/Kllingon hybrid. Pure logic with incredible violent tendancys sounds cool and a great science/tank combination.

I'm debating on three races to chose when STO comes out. Here are my choices and why:

Human: They are the main focus of the Star Trek Universe. Gene Roddenberry created Star Trek to inspire the human condition as it would be if we all got past our diffrences and came together as a unifed people. The whole series, from my perspective at least, is about the Human Legacy and how far it can take us.

El-Aurian: The race of listeners. This species was cast away from their homeworld in the Delta Quadrent when the Borg invaded it. Now a days, their numbers are few and scattered across the galaxy. This makes for a great stoy as El-Aurians can live up to 800+ years and are vastley intellegent. They may also possess abilities that we've never seen before. In an episode of TNG, Ginan and Q have a confrontation in which Q himself was afraid.

*This last choice is one of my own creation*

Race X: This being is one. The only one of his kind. Born in an unknown time and an unknown part of the universe, this being searches for the awnsers to the questions that have eluded him all his life. Who am I? What am I? Where did I come from? Is there anyone else like me? What is it that I have to do? Having a humanoid form with ridges on his forhead, he fnds himself in the Alpha Quadrent and discovering the Federation's noble cause for exploration, he enlists himself in Starfleet at the hope of one day it will lead him to his destiny.

In my case, if I do go custom, I'll try to smooth out the facial features as much as possible, somewhat like a Changeling's humanoid form, yet with a significantly smaller nose (narrow and almost entirely flush with the face), and ears entirely attached to the head (like an Ocampa, but smooth and unpointed). The forehead should be high and straight with no brow ridge. The skin ought to be pale and even, with a faint blue tint due to blue blood, and the large eyes may have nictitating membranes.

Kind of reminds me of the Binars (sp?) from TNG. If they have that race preset in the character creator, you should have a relatively easy time modifying them.

But yes, wow, the Bynars (http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Bynar), I'd forgotten about them. I wouldn't want crania as large as theirs, but they are quite similar.

Well you're in luck then, assuming they have them as a preset race, since the video showing the race creator looked like it had a large amount of morphing possibilities.
