factions and pvp!

factions:

at this point in time i cannot decide on a faction to join. having played world of warcraft in the past i can say that more noobs tend to play alliance because its the "good guy" faction with characters they know. On the other hand i am interested in being a vulcan. If starfleet is going to be overrun with tribbles i might as well go klingon. i played horde on wow i shouldnt have trouble being the "bad guy." if anyone has any suggestions or persuasions please post!

will there be servers where pvp is always on? will i be able to freely attack anyone in the neutral zone without consent? will there be just world pvp or will there be battle grounds where we can fight? will there be any rewards for pvp?

I might simply go by what ships you like the best. I know what you mean about the horde/alliance thing in wow. The younger crowd generally went to the alliance. That will probably happen with STO as well. I don't see a lot of real young kids playing anyways though so I don't think that would be much of an issue. Any faction though is going to have the noobs here and there. You can always combat that by getting into a guild/fleet with "requirements". Hopefully you will get into the beta and beable to make a decision before release.

I am assuming even in the neutral zone you won't beable to fire on your own faction but you should beable to fire on anything else that you wanted.

I personally would like an all pvp universe so that I may destroy anything and everything. I don't see that happening though.

I'm joining Starfleet (Federation)

My reasons are kinda simple.For one I'm not fond of Klingons & don't like there ships.Also most well evil races normally stick to there own kind.Klingons,Romulans, & what have you.Starfleet Isn't like that.There always making peace where well the opposite does not.Also I like the federation ships better.

if i were to join the klingons it would be because of Kor from the first episode with klingons. hes a cool guy. i like that whole "i really hate you and i am going to kill you but i will still respect you doing it" type of mentality. very honorable.

You got me thinking about WoW & the horde & alliance.Kinda scary hoping I'm not overwhelmed by children :eek: Either way I wouldn't change my mind.Think my guild Is joining the same & there pretty mature people.So perhaps I shouldn't worry :)

Klingons. But I would be willing to play federation. Perhaps beta will seal my klingon decision, or make me want to switch to the feds.
