Release Date!!!

ok in the last 2 days I have seen 3-4 release date threads so ive desided to nip it in the bud.


I see a recurring theme here. :) The game has not been pushed back. We are still aiming for a Fall 2009 release. I hope that this quiets your fears.

this is ALL we know, thats it there is NO other info on a release date.

to speculate next year or next week is wrong.so far as we know it will release as stated above.

Well since theres truth to the OP thread if we can keep this up near the top maybe at least it will catch the people who don't search but still glance at the first page.

And yes while that may be Cryptic's target release date a lot of people speculate next year because we have all been burned a few times by pushed back release dates. I don't know Cryptic's past of sticking with dates but in any game especially a game as huge as STO I would imagine an obstacle could crop up pretty quickly and easily and put an extra month or so on the release date.

I applaud your optomisim. But it is misguided at best. You know as well as I do(or maybe you don't) that people intertested in making a release date thread are going to no matter what threads they see. They all will figure the threads they see don't have the correct answer and make a new thread.

If people ever read the stickies this and many other unnecessary threads would never have existed. But they wont and never will. Such is life in forums.

we do have a specific timeframe. Atari's CEO yesterday officially confirmed STO would be out within the fiscal year ending March 2010.

So anytime between now and then. December 2009 seems likely.

My best guess is November, just as the holiday season gets going.

That could VERY easily change. However, its hopeful that in May, they are still saying they're aiming for a Fall 09 release.

They said thier original deadline was April 2010. They are hopeing for the game to be out before the holidays this year. thats it. Keep your fingers crossed.
