When the game is launched it will be Klingons VS Federation for most of the time, however what i've noticed is that the majority of the screenshots (even the banner at the top of the page) show Romulans, why? The game should be focusing more on Klingon screenshots (which we are sadly lacking). So anyone got any theories why the Romulans are so prominent, are Cryptic trying to indicate at something sneaky?
(PS - I dont care if this has been discussed before as the other thread has obv died)

They are an enemy to both of the playable races and a prominent power in the sector, since they are keeping details of many ships we have access to hidden, they'll show us the romulans.
if i had to guess...
the romulans are more aggressive than ever, and are a threat for both factions at launch.

Hmmm...got my theoryhammer and my theorywrench...here we go :p
Well, guessing completely, I'd say it could be in part because they mentioned the KDF experience will be much different from the Fed experience, so there's probably still a lot of work to do before they release a lot of KDF screens/info. Also, a Rom was the protagonist in the so far very successful STXI, so I'm sure they want to play up the Rom aspect of the game visually for people brought in by the movie. Last, my hope is that Roms got a serious priority boost from the movie popularity, and perhaps we could even see them as a playable race (this is pure guesswork/hope on my part) and/or a soon to be added faction (I can dream, can't I?).

I actually think the Romulans are a bigger problem due to their unpredictability. Think about it, they lost their home and are now endangered as a species and will therefore probably do almost anything to ensure survival. Plus, if you read the Countdown comic you'll see they have some things that will help them even the playing field in combat. At least with the Kilingons they take pride in being honorable.

simply being aggressive does not make you a threat.
Romulans are now nothing they dont even have a home planet, also where are people getting the information that they are noe "more aggressive".
Klingons remain a military power that is nearly equal to that of the Federation. It's obvious taht a all out war will result in the federations Victory not only do they now match the klingons in numbers but there technology is way more advanced.

Well, they said it'll be an expansion, I'm glad they started with Klingons as the second faction, always a favorite alien, ever since ST6, and TNG. "You have not heard Shakespeare until you've heard it in the original Klingon."
Any bets on how long after the game comes out till they make the romulan expansion 6 months, a year?

Wasn't a Romulan more of an antagonist in ST XI? As always, the crew of the Enterprise were the protagonists.

Klingons are by far the bigger threat. The Romulans had their home planet and another major resource planet completely destroyed. Billions of their people were killed. The government is completely wiped out and in disarray. Whatever shipyards, supply depots, storage facilities, and major space stations they had in their home sector are completely annihilated.
They aren't completely out of the game, but as a major interstellar power they have definitely fallen a great deal in terms of overall resources and capabilities.
Also as I'm sure many of the Klingons on these forums will tell you, those with Klingon blood in them are far more dangerous in a fight.

Gotta agree with the post above. Plus I'm sure the Klingons will go on planet grab rush now that many Romulan planets might not be as well defended since I'm sure everyone will want to be the new Praetor and make their home planet the new capitol of the Empire. Everyone will be gearing up for a major civil war.
The Federation might very well step in and prevent the Klingons from taking advantage of the situation to help the poor Romulans but also to prevent further expansion of the Klingon Empire by keeping the Romulans as a buffer zone.
