Okay, I know this is probably beating a dead horse but since I have not heard anything on this in a while AND we have been burned nefore. Does anyone know when this turkey is actually going to be released? It's been in developement hell for a very long time!

Yeah, we don't know. There are some hints that they are AIMing for an '09 release. But, an aim is by no means a confirmation of anything.

STO was indeed in development hell for years, where it languished as we fans scoured the internet for wisps of concept art or the rare update. But, like Orpheus, Cryptic rescued our darling STO and brought it into the full light of day where soon it will shine as a beacon to all of fandom!!
Seriously though, Cryptic has only had about a year to work on this so far, so there's no need to rush them. The game will probably be out Q4 '09 or Q1 '10, but nobody really knows at this point.

It's not so much it's a dead horse, but if the release date were known or even hinted at, you would not have to ask, it would be plastered everywhere with this bunch. It will not be subtle, so if you have to ask, it means nobody really knows.

It is still in developement. I'd rather they take forever to make a great game than take a short amount of time for a terrible game.

I only asked for two reasons:
1)I haven't been following as I should.
2) I am not that young anymore and getting older.
