Suppose you've had a bad day at work and want to take out some frustration by annihilating an alien race.
Is it OK, but only if your a Klingon?:)

I assume if you went that far rogue, your own crew would beat you down and stop you. And have other ships from your own faction hunting you.

Just to entertain the idea I doubt you could destroy a planet solo with any of the playable ships we'll have. aka... without super weapons.
Buuut, I think it's a feasible question if we're in a fleet. A fleet of ships might be able to destroy a planet. I could probably see a "Doomsday" fleet being formed just to try it out too.

You could probably render it unlivable with pretty much any ship. If the defiant is capable of poisoning a planet, I`m pretty sure any larger ship could too.
