This week's scenario was submitted by Blakery. Good luck!
Until now, the Romulans had chosen no sides in this conflict. They had maintained their embassies on Earth and other Federation space, but had given no aid to either side. That made the missive from the Romulans all the more surprising. Starfleet received a transmission from Ambassador H'Daen Jomar, communicating that, due to recent aggressive actions from the Klingons, they would put their dilithium deposits at the disposal of the Federation. They ask for an envoy from the Federation to come to Romulus so they can discuss details of a treaty.
Your ship leaves before its scheduled departure time. By a stroke of good fortune, its refueling schedule had been swapped with another vessel, so you are able to leave a half a day early. On your trip into Romulan space, your long-range sensors detect a large group of Romulan and Klingon starships. Much to your surprise, they're not destroying each other. The ships are idle, and with a bit of ingenuity from your communications officer, you manage to hear what the captains are discussing.
Your command of the Klingon tongue is not great, but you manage to get the shape of the conversation. The Romulan captain is promising the Klingon their dilithium deposits. By killing your impulse drives, you managed to avoid detection from the other ships, but now you have choices to make. Any transmission that would reach Starfleet would be detected, as would any movement from your vessel. What do you do?

While my ship and crew are important, it's more important that Starfleet be informed of the Romulan's double dealings as it affects the fates of many ships and crews. The intercepted transmission should be coppied and transmitted to starfleet, and a strategic retreat should be initiated there after, provided of course no way can be found first to sneak out of the system and preventing the Romulans from knowing that Starfleet is aware of what they're up to.

Record what they're saying, then turn around and head back to Earth, transmitting the signal all the way. If the Klingons and Romulans decide to follow i would drop my warp core infront of their ships and blow it up, hopefully the shockwave will either destroy them or slow them down, i would also make it so my ship would ride the shockwave rather than get blown up, would take some tricky calculations but my Vulcan first officer should be able to do it. If all goes well my ship gets blown out of the reach of the Romulans and Klingons, if not atleast i warned Starfleet Headquarters.

I would record everything that they are saying, then hightail it out of there, transmitting the signal to Starfleet the whole way back, going as fast as I my ship can go. When it is something of this importance, it can't be looked over.

If I was far away enough, i would just transmit and get outta there. Eventually, i would leave for romulan space at my scheduled time the next day. (unless it was a trap.)

pretty easy here, set return course and engage maximum warp. No sense sticking around to get shot up since there's no way their men aren't actively keeping an eyes on their sensors. Not to mention it won't help anyone if I can't relay the news of the romulan treachery back to the Federation.

I'd play a waiting game. Hopefully the ships will not detect me, once they leave so will I.
I'm a very bad writer, but someone should make a Kobayashi Maru for Klingon's. :D

easy. Record the transmission. Enter warp and fire off the message towards starfleet rotating my frenquencies so to combat the would be jamming i know will follow. tot take a page from jaenway id drop torpedoes as mines to slow them down as i run back to federation space. if nothing else the signal getting through is a priority

record message; play waiting game, raise to yellow alert, then 180 and transmit message, if the engage, jump to warp and jam communication.

it's = "it is"
its = possessive of 'it', as in "its scheduled departure time", not "it's scheduled departure time".
Many thanks.

I would order my vessel to go to full alert with out rasing the power signature, and begin to creep out of system. Also, I would have ordered a class 7 military prode to evasdrop on the Klingon and Romulan ships. Once at the edge of the system, go to maximum warp and send a priority one message with the enclosed recording to the nearest starbase.

This is simple;
I trasnmit a copy of the Romulan offer to the Federation to the nearby Klingon fleet... in the ensuing conflict, not only would I then be able to get my crew and ship out of harms way, but inform Starfleet and stabalise the balance of power by having the Romulans and Klingons at each others throat.

I continue on my way through Romulan space and once at my destination I contact Ambassador H'Daen Jomar and make him aware of the situation and hear what he has to say about it.
Just because one captain is trading supplies with the Klingons doesn't mean the entire Romulan Empire is in on it.
P.S
And all the while I'm just chilling, Hanging around in my captain's chair while eating some fruit. (People who saw Star Trek know what I'm talkin 'bout ;) )

There doesn't seem to be any reason why this information needs to be relayed with urgency. For all we know, the Romulans may be setting up the Klingons, not us, as they are offering them the same thing. Infact its obvious they are playing boths sides which could completely backfire in thier faces.
So, I'd do the waiting game, the fleet isn't going to wait around there forever, once they leave the ship can head back to federation space with the information. If the fleet heads towards my location, I'll simply head out of their at maximum warp and signal starfleet. There is nothing to suggest that this fleet of ships is about to head to Federation space though, and if it does, the Neutral zone listening posts will pick it up pretty quickly anyway.
The option of just entering warp sending out signals is just a good way to provoke an attack that could destroy my ship and crew, with no worthy purpose served, also, leaving behind mines which could accidently destroy ships that have no intention of harming anyone does not seem like a good option either (There is a reason mines are banned by some countries!). Also, destroying a ship before it has a chance to actually fire on you means you took the first shot, making you the aggressor, which could lead to further issues regarding diplomacy, it could also seal the deal been made between the 2 powers if you fire first as well.

Since they don't know know were I am and have yet to detect me I would gather as much intelligence as I could. Reason I would do this is to determine if they are rogue fractions from their respective powers or if they are legitiment representatives. With time and little movement they could probably move on and we could make a break for it for Federation territory. At the first hint that they have detected me I'll make a run for it to the Neutral zone sending a priority one message to starfleet hq.
Now if they follow me I'll put the ship to her limits and get as far away as I could. And to slow em down I'll drop a bit of my torpedo loads with either a proximity alarm or a delayed fuse and blow it when they cross it. Course that would take a bit of calculations but we should have a few torpedos to throw some warning shots.
So in general from what the theoretical data the scenario entails this would be what I would do. However there are many variables to account for which will have to wait until the game comes out. :D

Romulans and Klingons are both not to be trusted, personally I would evacuate most of the crew (all if i was able) after sending the information back to the fleet then charge on collision with their ships whilst firing everything I got before finally destructing the ship in their faces for maximum effect.
Didn't think about this one too much just wanted to have a quick go :p

Look at it this way, if you are in a room hiding behind some curtains, listening to a converation, do you:-
A) Jump from behind the curtains, yelling and screaming and run out the room
B) Jump from behind the curtains, yelling and screaming, throwing puches and shooting people
C) Get your mobile out and start chatting on the phone, which they can hear in the room
D) Stay quiet, find out as much as you can, then leave the room when its empty
D is the most obvious and safest choice to make, the enemy has no idea you know thier plans, you get out alive and you don't cause a conflict that could worsen the situation or worse, cement the deal between the 2 people.

hrmm.. my first thought would to be to send a message prob that is warp capable with the contents of the message toward federation space. to cover the probe's departure i would fully power up the ship and approach the klingon/romulan meeting to attempt to use diplomacy to resolve the situation.
while this was occurring i would probably also send a communication to starfleet with the same contents of the probe to alert the klingons and romulans that i am not someone that can be "removed" without starfleet knowing.
federation diplomacy is always the first step in a situation according to federation training. but i would not remove my finger from the "warp speed" button either.

Depending on how much time I had to work with, a might engage a incredibly brief impulse or warp pulse then use the momentum to drift away from the Romulan and Klington fleets. Presumably, the pulse would be brief enough that they might ignore it, allowing me to slowly drift out of sensor range.
Other than that, adopt the solutions above: Maximum warp back to Federation Space, broadcasting the news on all frequencies.

05-08-2009, 09:37 AM
Prepare a log bouy of the conversation encrypted for Starfleet Command. I launch that just before we resume course for Romulus.
If we are stopped I feign ignorance of the Klingon/Romulan hails and simply answer on an open hailing frequency that we are here at the behest of the Romulans to discus dilethium trade as requested. Making sure the Klingons can hear if they choose as well.
At the very least I'm confident Starfleet will be warned of the double-cross negotiation. At the best the Klingons get edgy and I embarrass the Romulans into finishing negotiations with us first. At worst... I'm in a shooting gallery with a small Klingon/Romulan fleet... probably shooting at each other and me.

Stay hidden and continue to eavesdrop/record until they leave. When they're gone, inform Starfleet of my findings and continue with my journey to the treaty negotiation.
If I deemed it appropriate I would mention what I had seen during the negotiations

I will send a the message to starfleet then if they don't agree the Klingons attack then I will blow up the reserves if it was going to used against the federation I will not allow that to happen. But until then they will have to agree or we will set up a blockade.
Yeah, relay the info to Starfleet, then hightail it out of there. It could very well be a Romulan ploy to trick the Klingon, or a renegade faction dealing behind the senates back. Knowing the Romulan, the latter is the more likely scenario.

A ship hardly needs a captain if he just goes running back to headquarters for instructions every time something goes wrong!
Wait 'till the Klingons and Romulans go their separate ways, then approach the Klingon flagship under a white flag and compare notes.
Show up to the rendezvous with the Romulans and play along. Just as the agreement is about to be signed, the Klingons decloak and the Klingon captain and I both demand to know what the Romulans are trying to pull. The shock of being caught in the act should unbalance the Romulan ambassadors and tilt the negotiations in our favor.

While sitting there, I would put half of my torpedoes in a formation in space between the warp nacelle pylons. That way, they would be inside the warp field when I decide to go to warp. I then prepare a warning for starfleet. 2 seconds after I goto warp, heading for the enemy fleet, I fire off the message to starfleet. I drop out of warp very close to the enemy ships and dive quickly. The large contingent of torpedoes then drift at impulse speed straight into the enemy ships. Catching the enemy off guard, I then swing around for a straffing run on the remaining vessels. The goal is to take out as many enemy vessels as possible before I have to retreat. I then set all shields to the rear and goto maximum warp in the direction of home. Maybe I make, maybe I don't. But at least I'll know they were to busy dealing with me to worry about jamming a subspace transmission to Starfleet.

Continue to monitor the situation from a distance. Use whatever means available to remain undetected. And as stated before, wait for the fleets to leave and then contact Starfleet to inform them of the news. Continue cautiously to the Romulan ambassador's location, being prepared to make a quick exit if needed.

Power down and watch and listen.
When enough intel is gathered, vent some side hatches to rotate the ship and warp to the nearest starbase. You still are ahead of schedule, this way you will have enough time to keep your other appointments.

Since I have a half day until I'm expected, I have that conversation recorded and I try to find someone in my crew whose Klingon is better than mine to tell me exactly what is being said. We run silent and stay still until our expected arrival time. At that point, we continue with the negotiations and see what the treaty entails. I don't believe the Romulans are planning to kill us, it sounds like they are just trying to play both sides against one another or achieve maximum profit from both sides. Now that I have a clue, the details of the treaty can be modified to ensure our side isn't getting the shaft.

I am early, so I sit and record as much data as possible, place it in a log bouy.
When I arrive, "On time," I transmit then. Unless they broke Federation codes, there is nothing odd about a ship signaling their arrival to a planned meeting.
If I am destroyed, there is still a log bouy out there with all the vital information.

I would announce my presence to both Captains and say that I am there for the Dilithium I was promised by the Romulans...The Klingons would hthink they were betrayed and attack the Romulans....then I could head back to Federation space watching the battle from the rear viewscreen sensors. :)

1st ) i would lonch a clocked probe back accrost to fetiration space to tranzmit / relay message i reseved from rom/ klin conversation
request backup. then sit like a hole in space till thy go to move. what ship am i on to btw what does it have. send out 3 more clocked photon torp's create a blast on some insignifigant rock neer the 2 crafts then gravimetric lock on planets to move my ship back out of threatening space.
2nd ) reaty worp engines prepair group of short worp bursts moveing me betwean and away from the 2 ships 30 X a second so my ship would apper to be 3 ships so thy cant get a good lock on. then moniter boath ships weapons and targeting aray in prepiration for lonch tie in to nav computer so ship in never in the spot the weapon will be fireings range open hail to boath ships under hopes thy are not planing against me. stage 3 bridges 2 in halodeck. can allso lonch shuutles with halo emmiters so thy apper to be bigger ships than thy are have them hold back at the fet. space border prepairing emergency beam out sight to sight i know the shuttles are only ment for 3 - 8 people but have the ones not needed stored in computer till a big enuff ship is made avalable . allso the ships all have replicaters thy can controll the size of an object. can make the ship small so it looks like peace of space junk
3rd ) research boath ships crue recreate massages to the captens of each ship ( propaganda ) saying there is massive borg are moveing in to quadrant return to safe space abbandon all actions priority 1 keep the ship from being taken at all caulsts under pain of death if the ship is comprimised home ports could be next !!!

ok first off you dont really know that the deal is done so why jump to conclusions. they were trying to make a deal. does not mean they did. by just running makes them feel like they are in a position to attack cause it makes them think they in your eyes were doing something wrong. you are only a half a day early so the other ship will leave soon anyway. keep your engines off. stay behind a planet. in half a day go ahead on schedule. meet with the romulins. talk with them and see what they tell you about the trade with the federation. once you do let the romulins know you are going to have to talk to the federation. when you send out a transmission send the recording of the conversation hidden in the transmission. than wait and see what federation wants you to do. they wont think anything of the transmission and it wont let them know you know. so close to there planet you will be out numbered if you try and fight. be smart, think befor you act. :D:);):p:

I would record the conversation and prepare for a warp jump but not execute it unless necessary. I would hold still. All the Romulans are saying is they'd give the Klingons access to the dilithium. They're not actually transferring it at this point.
I'd power down as many systems as possible without endangering the crew or the ship's readiness so as to hopefully reduce anything their sensors could detect. Eventually the Romulans and Klingons would have to disperse. Then I'd attend the meeting as scheduled and see what the Romulans had to say without letting on to what I know. Then I'd take all the information back to Starfleet.

I'd have to carefully consider range of my shuttles/yachts but I might
dispatch a red shirt on one of the craft on my ship with the data I'd

i would transmit everything they say aswell as my coordinates over to one of my friends in the federation disguising the transmission as background static but with a sort of base he would understand then wait for a federation ship/fleet to fly my way and either escape or launch a full frontal attack:cool:

Record and encrypt everything ready for transmision. If my ship has a cloak turn it on, otherwise power down but be ready to leave quickly if I'm detected and wait for the others to leave. Once they leave Id send the encryted recordings in a directed transmision to the nearest starbase and head there to await a response from the Federation Council, any delay can be blamed on technical falts. If they spot me I transmit and run for it. The Federation cannot remain ignorant of this double dealing.

Just wait until the time I was supposed to arrive, and very quickly warp a few thousand kilos to give the appearance of just warping in. Explain that, due to a radiation leak, the dilithium has been contaminated and that, after reporting to Starflleet, you will be back with a larger shipment ASAP.

Personally I think if my long range sensors have detected them they probibly have detected me as well. However what I would do is record the transmission while I had several Shuttles preped to fly back to starfleet on automatic pilot with the recorded message seeing as how a shuttle craft has a lower power reading it could quite posibly make the trip back undetected. I would also set a few up to duplicate my ships warp signature after a while to provide a decoy that I could use to make a retreat myself, of course the decoy shuttles would also be set to autopilot so as to not endanger my crew. If they do have ill intent they should go after the decoys false warp signature while the ship can use impulse speeds to get out of sensor range. Also my ship might have a cloaking device if so I would activate it. Keep in mind the Romulans know I am on my way there so if they don't detect me Approaching at some point they might get suspicious and start searching to see if I am near by, that is the main purpose of the decoys.

I would hold out till I felt I learnd all I could. Then contack my engineer and have him prepare a class 4 probe to emit a warp signature and launch that probe to venture on vector opposite my escape route. Once clear of the Romulan and Klingon range I would head to Federation space and scramble an alpha priority message to fleet command.

I thought these scenarios were supposed to be no iwn scenarios....this one h a solution:
Prepare a transmission, re engage engines, go to emergency warp towards the nearest starbase, and send the transmission as soon as we entered warp. Sure we may not make it back to Federation Space, but the Federation would avoid a trap and that meansthere is a solution.

Romulans dealing the same deal with the Klingons, eh? Either the Romulans are trying to buy their way into Neutrality, or possibly setting up a trap with the Klingons.
Since I'm early, the best course of action is to easedrop and get more intelligence. If the Romulans aren't planning a trap, then I will proceed with the rendevous, cautiously. If there is a trap, the only prudent thing would be to spring it. With the Romulan and Klingon vessels idle, then I would have the advantage in getting the first strike. But best if I close in as close as possible before doing so.

I would make a copy of the transmission between the two ships and attempt to leave the scene without being spotted. If I was to be spotted I would immediately warp to the fastest capabilities of my ship. While in warp I would send a transmission to starfleet on random frequncies that also contains a copy of the transmission between the romulans and klingons. Also while in warp I would drop timer based torpedos to act as mines and hopefully destroy or slow the persuers.

Upon my arrival to the Neutral Zone, I would notify StarFleet of my arrival, and proceed forward to Romulan Space. Once inside Romulan, space my Comm officer stumbled on to a transmission between what appears to be a Klingon Bird of Prey, and a Romulan Warbird. Both cloaked, and both en route to the Romulan homeworld of Romulus.
After dropping out of Warp, and detecting the conversations between the captians via subspace. And sitting in my Captain's chair. I inform the crew to go to Yellow Alert status. I proceed to inform my 1st and 2nd officers to take their battle group to their perspective battle bridges and prepare for tactical ship separation if the situation levies it. I would also instruct one of my tactical officers, to take the information aboard one of the Defiant class shuttles and follow these instructions:
1. Once inside the shuttle, start up secondary life support. And notify the bridge when ready.
2. I would inform him to hang on for the ride he's about to get, then if we are engaged by the Romulans and Klingons. To turn on the shuttle's warp reactor and proceed back to StarFleet at top speed to inform them of the Romulan treachery.
Once he is inside the shuttle and is securely seated. I order that the shuttlebay be cleared of personnel, have engineering open the bay doors, remove the magnetic locks on that particular shuttle and turn off the safety field. And watch the shuttle exit the bay slowly. Tap my comm badge and advise him that we would keep a clear channel of communication between us. He is to stay adrift until he hears the combat sequence begining.
At which point I would then tell the helm to continue forward on course at full impulse. And wait to see how the Klingons and Romulans react to the presense of a StarFleet Prometheus Class starship in their midst. Once our sensors have picked up the two ships, I would then raise shields and open hailing frequencies.

I would also select D while adding that I would have everyone at their battlestations, and have an excape route ploted. Just in case

This is the First Officer of the Hood, the old man is sleeping. He's given me, an empathic Kzinti, the conn. I've told off the crew and we are going to listen and stand fast. The old man's orders: Only aggressive ship movements are to be countered, wake him after we've gone to warp. At this distance we can out run them and I can still hear them cloaked. Chances are good if they discover us our transmissions would be jammed so we are on our own.
Trying to enlighten the Klingons might be tricky, they tend to get in a fight first ask questions later state of mind. Hood can only run for so long so we've plotted an exit course to the nearest system and nebula. Hopefully we can get a transmission back to inform Starfleet at that time. If we can't convince the Klingons or manipulate the Romulans our only purpose is to get that message through 'at all costs'. The system and nebula will give us a better chance of survival or success. "What ever is going to happen, is going to happen, live for it. Die for it ready." Capt. J.A.Pollock, USS Hood

This situation dosent have enough information to make a strong assumtion. Assuming i have my Dreyarc class... i would record the message and proceed to the rendevous with the romulans at yellow alert and if an ambush occured then I would warp away broadcasting the recording at all know fequencies... now if i had a soverign class... well i would just stride on in at red alert and start blowing stuff up

Priority is to warn starfleet. Go straight to warp broadcasting all the way. Since they are powered down, and engaged with each other, the chances are in your favor that they won't get their act together until you are long gone. Either way, you got the message out, they're screwed. I'd be wondering what romulan or klingon genius decided to have a covert meeting only half a day earlier in the exact same location you were supposed to meet them...What would they gain by ambushing you?
this recorded debates could be used against both, klingons and romulans.
so, you could send a diplomat to the klingon border to show them both conversations, and getting the klingons on your side for a moment, with the "the enemy of my enemy is my allie"-kinda string.
or the other way around, trying to extortinate the romulans or even if its just to keep their betrayin mouth shut.

Situation 1:
With a large number of vessels, I probably can't take them in a fight (nor would it be in the Federation's best interests for me to START one). Therefore, I would recommend silent running on minimum power. Wait until the group has broken up before cranking on the engines and high-tailing it to some location where it would be safe to com it in. If the group appears to be massing for an immediate raid or warlike activity, that would be a different situation where I would most likely take different tactics entirely. However, nothing in this scenario actually says that is the case... and if I can overhear the Klingon side of the communication, I'm sure I'd be able to hear the eagerness for battle.
Situation 2:
Following a successful end to their negotiations, I would congratulate my fellow Klingons and see if I can't get an invite to the party and/or bloodshed my brethren would soon be throwing down on those wimpy Feds. Crowe SMASH!

Aaah. A classic stealth-recon situation.
First things first, record everything that has been said thus far. It could be a double cross by the currently ruling Romulan government, or another faction may be planning a coup d'etat, but that's up to the Federation intelligence to decide. Either way, the fact that this is happening means the situation is already very dangerous either way and I would deem the envoy mission too risky.
I'll first give some standing orders:
1) Pre-program an escape course back to Federation space.
2) Once it looks like they've seen us and I give the signal, transfer all out power to shields and engines and follow the course plotted at the maximum warp that will allow us to make it back to Federation space. Also, transmit everything we've gathered to the Federation right now, encrypted, in case we don't make it back.
Now, we'll run silent. We'll stay put and record as much information as we can. If the Rolumans are going to betray us, Starfleet will need to know about this. If a faction is trying to stage a coup d'etat in the Romulan government, then the Empire is nowhere near stable enough as of yet to be able to go through with the our agreement in the first place, but this information may be a useful trump card during negotiations.
If they leave without noticing us, we'll wait a while until they're far enough before sending an encrypted transmission to Starfleet with the recording, asking for their orders. We'll wait and then act based on their orders.
If they notice us, carry out my standing orders and hope we make it back. I don't care if the engines burn out just as we arrive in Federation space, we must get back at all cost. Hopefully the Federation will be able to scramble a few ships to escort us, or tow us, once we reach Federation space.

It sounds like the Romulans want to ferment the conflict between the Federation and the Klingons. I would sit and wait and show up at the regularly scheduled time. Then I would use the transmission to blackmail the Romulan captain into working with me. I would try to make the situation advantageous for his career and, of course, for the Federation's position against the Klingons. If he helps us, then he helps himself.

Once I detected the communications between the Romulans and Klingons I would cut power to all systems except life support, maneuvering thrusters, and comm array. I would just be patient and record the whole conversation, once enough information had been acquired I would use the maneuvering thrusters to get out of their sensor range undetected if possible then warp out of there and send a priority 1 message to starfleet containing the gathered info.
If my ship was detected I would hail the Romulans and Klingons while hoping for the best. And if they turned on me then I would warp out of there as fast as I could raising shields while broadcasting on every channel to starfleet.

I would relay the comm between the two ships to starfleet, try to get any more info on the number of ship and set coarse back at maximum warp.

I would record the conversation, and wait in the shadows until both parties leave. If detected, I would send an unencrypted message to the Romulan ship (so that the Klingons can hear) apologizing for being early, but hoping we could open our discussions pertaining to the dilithium deposits.
Worst case scenario is that both the Klingons and the Romulans are now warring with us, but also warring with one another. Despite opening another front, it does the same for both of our enemies. Using this treachery, we could easily work with the Klingons for an honorable cease-fire. Then, concentrate on the Romulans.

Since we haven't been detected, I'm going to assume that we are near the edge of their sensor range. I'll have my science officers calculate their sensor range based on any known information or theories on both Klingon and Romulan sensor technology. Once we have a projected range of their sensors and our approximate location within that sensor bubble, I will have an engineering team modify a warp-capable probe (if necessary) to include increased thruster duration. I would order a message to Starfleet Command which outlines our suspicions to be stored on the probe. The probe would be launched navigating towards the nearest Federation Station, operating at thrusters only until it had (theoretically) cleared the Klingon and Romulan sensor bubbles at which point it would transmit the message on high priority subspace channels as well as engage at maximum warp to the space station in case the message is intercepted or jammed. If the plan is successful and we are not detected, we will sit and monitor communications between the Klingons and Romulans to see if anything further develops. In the mean time, communications department will work on getting accurate translations. Any needed computer system and personnel will be made available to the communications officers.
From that point:
A. Once we have better information we will re-evaluate the situation. If there is an immediate threat to the federation, we will make our way toward the vessels and hope to negotiate with both parties. If the situation falls to violence, we will respond appropriately and pray reinforcements arrive. If there is no great threat to the federation, my responsibility becomes the safety of my ship and crew and we will retreat at maximum warp to federation space.
OR
B. We are detected. Because at this point I see no immediate threat to the security of the Federation, I will retreat at maximum warp to the nearest Federation space station, sending our message on all Starfleet channels.

Knowing what we know about the Political upheaval in Romulus territories, and the manipulative measures they take from one faction to the next to gain power...Let's look at the facts we currently have...
I am in Romulan space
There are 2 groups of Starships out there that don't like me or my race, and they'd much rather kill me than reveal any deception on thier behalf. I got lucky in that they didn't see me, But You can bet your pretty patootie the Romulan SensorNet knew exactly When and Where I crossed, and it wouldn't surprise me if there is a Warbird or 2 on my tail as "sail through these parts".
So now infront of me and behind...but may be the two following me don't have the same poltical ties as those infront...maybe they don't want dissention sewn in the Romulan Empire..I might play that card if the need arises...lets see...
I cruise in scanners on high, I'm lit up like a Xmas tree and I've got my poker face on...
Open Hailing fequencies: Romulan Vessel this is Cap'n ( Blah, Blah) I'm here to deliver Medical supplies to you and the Klingon Cap'n's if they would like or need any. This is a token of goodwill, a gesture towards the two great nations I see before me, working together towards prosperity.
( remember folks it better to ask forgiveness later... We'll leave the Cap'n to his polictal machinations but you get the picture)
Now I'm certainly not going to run up on them and go nose to nose, don't fear that...But they know I'm here and I know they( the romulans) know I know what is transpiring...They won't fire on me... I have the stuff they want. and they won't coax the Kingons in to a fight either...and besides they KNOW that I am being escorted but are not sure by whom...they can't risk exposure of this plot.
I send my communique to a Starbase-encoded priority 1( encripted recorded msg inserted in a lower heuristic range), and tell the "gang" if they ask I just let Starfleet know that I have arrived and all is well...so far...
Now who's for that Blood Wine? No?
How 'bout you? Ale?
Sure I'll try that...

I would continue to eavesdrop. Gather and record the information. Then see what happens. There is nothing to be gained from engaging in combat at this point.
A tactical retreat may be called for, but not before exposing the deciet of the Romulans to the Klingons.

O.K., deploy a shuttle and station it away from your ship on thursters (which presumably won't be detected) with a copy of the message. Then take off in your main ship away from the Shuttle in order to create a distraction. When hostiles take off in persuit of the ship and are out of detection range, shuttle heads back to hail range of Starfleet Command and relays the message. You'll probably loose your ship but at least the message will be recieved.

Transmit to Starfleet and then hail the lead Klingon Vessel, and transmit the missive that was sent to the Federation, I go on to communicate that this instance is in fact one of many instances of the Romulans playing both sides in this conflict. I also imply that the hostilities between our two governments were caused in part by Romulan intrigue. After which I tell them that I have no quarrel with them this day, but that I can no longer allow these dishonorable wretches to cause harm to the Federation and immediately attack the Romulans while deliberately ignoring the Klingons even if they start to fire. If at any point it looks as if we are about to be destroyed I transmit the names of the crew to the Klingons and attach a message that says "Remember our courage and deeds this day, and never forget our names."
If the Romulans are tricking the Klingons as well then I assume they'd assist me in my attack, and if they were actually allies planning a trap I'd hope my actions would sway them into thinking the Federation was more honorable then their current allies and hopefully that would cause them to rethink who they should be dealing with.

I think that letting Starfleet know about the situation would be the biggest priority in a situation like this, but at the same time I'm not sure that it would be worth risking my ship by trying to communicate the information and risk detection. I think the best situation would be to remain undetected by the ships for as long as possible until I had a chance to evacuate the situation and risk endangering my crew. While waiting, I would definitely continue to monitor the conversation between the two ships to ensure that they aren't aware of my ship's presence -- as well as to potentially gain other information that could be beneficial.

I would order my chief engineer change the ships warp signature to Romulan.
Then turning the ship in direction of Federation Territory.
Knowing that they would get my impulse movements I'll use maneuver engines, since they don't leave signatures.(At least none one can get easily)
Now the ship is turned and I'll pull back to Federation space and inform Starfleet.
Knowing the romulans are fools I 'll get a genius linguistic student, sepcialized in Klingon.
Know I would use my long range communication to cantact the klingon fleets flagship.
After that the linguistic student will tell them in klingon(of course with a imitated klingon communication signature) that the romulans are setting up a trap for the Klingon empire and big Federation fleet is waiting for them to arrive and destroy them.
Since Klingons too think that Romulans are honorless dogs they'll immidiately believe the story and attack the Romulans. Leaving the Federation be.
To sustain the claim I would transmit sensor datas of the Federations FIRST Fleet. near the zone.
For the case that the Klingons will not fall for the trick I'll place an other Federation Fleet there along with some anti-matter mines.
Edit:
I agree Kobayashi Maru is supposed to be unbeatable no matter what you do.
(Well Ok I think I could have beaten the original one even with a Constitution...)
But a request for future Kobayashi marus: Please tell what kind of ship you have during the test, it's easier to assess possibilities and your own strength.

I would send a shuttle to Earth with my best pilot warning the Federation.
I would be no mach for the Romulan and Klingon ships in a face off. I would send another shuttle on auto pilot with a fake Romulan destrese signal. As the Romulan and Klingon ships are destracted i would bute up my engines and shields and go full warp out of the sector.
If the Romulan and klingon ships respond to the fake desstres call I will self destruct the shuttle hopefully destroying the Romulan and Klingons.
If they deside to follow me then i will hide the magnetic gravotasional pull of a planet until they leave. If they descover where i am i will evacuwate the ship and hold the Romulan and Klingon ships off as long as i can.

As Klingons and Romulans have a history of attacks on the Federation I would not respond to them because it is probably a trap. my guess is that the Romulans are up to something and they dont want the Federation to interfere. After they destroy the ship, they would probably pull something on the Klingons too. Another possibility is the Klingons want the Romulans to ask for your assistance and they want the Romulans deposits. They get the deposits because the Romulans do not want to be destroyed. The Klingons also want romulans to help attack too. Or the Romulans want to desroy both Federation and Klingong so they get the Kilingons over there and you, they and the klingons destroy your ship then in turn the Romulans turn on the Klingons and attack them. Then they would say that the Klingons did it ti the federation and tell the Klingons it was us who killed their ship. we would go to war. I would record what they are saying, and get out of there with warp speed or go to a planet near me where the gravity makes the ship undetectable. i would hightail out and report immeaditly to Starbase undetecked so we can suprise the Klngons and Romulans

I would send the information to starfleet command as well as telling them to send as many vessels to rendezvous with me in a cerain secter that I know I could easily reach as well as the main fleet. As i'm doing that I would have set coarse for the secter and set out at high warp in the mean time getting ready some sort of automated distress call if we're attacked before we reach the fleet, giving them our position and status.

Jump to warp going to the nearest planetary system and mask your trail using the ionisation of a moon and set a course for the nearest starbase.
The problem with doing that is you are leading a large force of romulin and klingon warships to a potentialy weak starbase that doesn't have that many ships at its defence. So by doing this you would more than likely destroy the starbase even if you send for a distress call. Unless the starbase detects the enemy first and calls for aid. Then you may have a chance for survival depending on how many ships come to your aid.

This one is a bit, well, boring lol Good scenario though (a true Kobayashi Maru is one that does not give you a clearly defined escape)
Natrually I'd lay low, shut down all non-essentials and have engineering do there best to make us as undetectable as possible. Meanwhile, I'd send a transmission to Starfleet piggybacked on any non-essential signal that would go unnoticed by either side. Then, just wait and hope they dont find us. In case they do I'd be prepared to go to high warp and hope reinforcements are on the way (which would have been requested). I'd also keep a look out for any good nebulas to hide in or mask our escape. This would simply be a game about buying as much time as possible.

I would head to a near by nebula followed by the klingons and romulens. the nebulas gasses would interfer with thier sennsers causing them to fly blind. Then I would spearate my ship, the main brige would go strait wile the lower decks went a round for a suprize attack from befind. An away team would be sent to retreve the dilithium, wile we ocupied them with an attack. After the away team returner we would leave warp nine droping proton torpedos to slow them down, and calling for backup all the way home.

I thought of a few ideas:
First, send out the fastest probe that I have and set it to not go to warp until it is almost out of sensor range, then go to warp.
Second, if I am just at the edge of their sensor range, I'd do an impulse burst to generate momentum. If to shows up on their sensors, if it's brief enough it won't show up or be seen as a minor malfunction or something like that. You could also try using this to get behind a planet or moon to shield you from their sensors or using the impulse burst to slingshot around the planet to get you away from the system faster.
Third, if you want to shoot and run, jump in at high warp, hit their engines and then run.
Forth, you could just wait for them to leave.
Finally, depending on where in the system you are and how far from you original course you are, you could warp back on your original course.

What I would do is in previous Kobayashi Maru where we had had decided about a particle. The science officer figure how use the particle to benefit use. By using it to make cloaking device I would cloak then get close to Klingon vessel from the rear then fire 2 proton torpedo at the Romulan vessel to make look like Klingon fired at em so they start a war between those to ships. Since they be busy firing at each other I would get out of the area and report my findings to starfleet command soon as I use transporter to beam aboard dilithium while sending the Kilingon vessel minor amounts . So when Romulan scan the bird of prey they find they stole dilithium so all out war can happen between to races.

I do not think the Romulans would have invited a Starfleet vessle and risk open war and neither would the Klingons. I would engage my impulse drive and let them operate under the assumption that I have no idea about their discussion. Hail the Romulans first with this message:
//Romulan Vessle this is Captain Blackblade of the Federation Starship [Enter Name]; We are here slightly ahead of schedule but we were closer than the other vessles. I was not informed we would be joined by the Klingons, but of course I am always glad to sit at a 3 seated table just as easily as a 2 seated one. Perhaps you could join me for dinner this evening aboard and we can discuss the message we recieved.//
After a discussion with the Romluans that would no doubt involve a lot of fake smiles I would contact the Klingon lead vessle.
/Klingon Vessle this is Captain Blackblade of the Federation Starship [Enter Name]; we were invited by the Romuland ambassador for a peaceful meeting, as you are no doubt also here for some diplomatic matter do not let my prescence impose on your meeting. I have invited the Romulan captain aboard for dinner this evening if you do not have prior arrangements to attend to I would be glad to have your company aboard as well.//
I suspect they would do some aggressive posturing and leave. But I all the while I have quietly let both parties know that Starfleet is not ignorant of what just happened. I would hear the Captain out and enjoy the dinner, knowing just as well as the Romulans and Klingons do that Starfleet will send other ships if we do not report in. I will send a briefing to Starfleet about the meeting in a transmission of our logs, and I will have the computer devise a rather elaborate cypher for the message to keep them working on decoding it but will not mention the message we overheard until I make it back to Federation Space or are joined by more vessles.
In the event the diplomacy fails I will attempt aggressive tactics threatening them with open war and preparing a message for Starfleet and run and gun tactics and if need be I will use what shuttles my vessle has to engage enemy vessles in order to give us time to make it within range of Starfleet to make our transmission. However, if my ship was in danger of being captured I would set the auto destruct sequence and launch escape pods and a buoy and hope it gets lost in the debris if I set it to not transmit a homing signal.

before doing anything scan the system for signs of cloaked ships if none appear Creep towards the edge of the system at minimum speed, when out of short range sensor range send a subspace signal to the klingon ship including a copy of the romulan offer to the federation, as soon as the message was sent send another message with the details of the situation to Command and warp to the nearest federation starbase to await further orders. if there are any cloaked ships creep out of the system and warp when out of sensor range, after escaping send a priority one message to Command.

I'd first record the messages and wait to see the terms of the trade.
If I know anything about Klingons or Romulans, one of the two are going to double-cross the other.
Step 1 is knowing your enemy.
If the trade is legitimate, however, transmit the message to starfleet while in their range (yet far enough for a head start if retreat is needed.), followed by a call for backup from a fleet of ships that are in the area (There are no ships nearby. This is meant to scare them.) If they ignore the warning and attack, retreat. if they follow, continue the call for backup from starfleet, stating you will meet at a specific co-ordinate.
If the opposing ships have not yet retreated, continue en route to set co-ordinate. once destination is reached, turn and attack.
It would be hard to believe neither of the two ships have turned.
If given the chance, urge opposing ship to cease. inform them reinforcements are on their way. (at this point, reinforcements should not be far.
From this point, you must fight to the end.
if things look dire, order evacuation.
Starfleet is, at least, informed, and you didn't go down without a fight.

There is the chance that the romulan captain is trying to bargain with the Klingons to get out of trouble. Or, the Romulans intend to set up the Klingons so that the Federation will be lead into conflict with them. After all, had we not arrived at this time, our ambassidor may have met with misfortune. It would not matter if it were the Romulans or the Klingons who did the deed, I'm sure that evidence would be left or supplied to the Federation to suggest Klingon culpability.
What to do. Remain unseen. it keeps the options open.
If it is a plot then it's undone by allowing our presence to be known and high-tailing it. The Romulans then know we know.
(if we survive which I would doubt when both parties reveal their cloaked ships)
However, our knowledge of the plot does not have to be revealed yet. We can leave that to our ambassidors if we need to.
It might a chance to normalise relations with both parties. By the ship remaining incognito, the Klingons can be contacted diplomatically with information of the Romulan resource offer, and notice that it will be politely declined. That instead, we are considering a formal non-agression pact with both groups. To the Romulans, later, perhaps the diplomatic message could be sent that the Federation will consider a treaty without any resources being involved. Leave that to the diplomats.
If it isnt a plot, and it's the Romulan just trying to get out of trouble, we dont want to be detected either.

My actions would take place in steps.
Step:
1. Prepare an envoy to Star Fleet command informing them of what is happening.
2. Ready all torpedo bays and phaser arrays.
3. Have my first officer and my tactical staff prepare an autopilot system to attack the Klingon ships.
4. Have all crew report to the escape ships.
5. Request that volunteers remain on board to make sure my plan works and the others escape.
(Of no more than 25 crewmen)
6. Commence the launch of all escape ships and start my attack on the Klingon vessel.
This plan while not evacuating my entire crew allows me to save the majority of my crew relay events to Star Fleet and disrupt the deal.

The Federation can not abide treachery, and neither can the Klingons. I would send the Klingons a copy of the Romulan message offering their resources, while asking the Romulans on an open channel (so the Klingons can hear) why they are negotiating with resources already promised to the Federation. The Klingons would likely start shooting the Romulans which would allow me to escape while my comm system screams out a copy of the incident back to the Federation.

First, I would record everything and prepare a signal burst transmission for Star Fleet Command. Meanwhile I would have my crew man their battlestations and target every idled ship. Since both flotillas are basically "floating" and unprepared they should be easy pickings. One torpedo to each ships' warp core should allow the USS Cyclone to escape mostly intact.

Okay - I understand vagueness is needed and openness is also needed for a mission like a Kobayashi Maru scenario, but what year is it, what ship do I have and what type of weapons am I equipped with, how far away is the nearest and largest grouping of Federation ships...
Taking those, with liberties, I assume that my ship is well armed, my crew has managed and pulled together well, I hope I have a good engineer in my engine room.
I would start a slow building power up of my warp drive, weapons, and shield generators. I assume I'd be smart enough to have recorded the transmissions between the Klingon and Romulan fleets. If I had any kind of spacial distortion or high powered proximity mines, I'd drop them and turn the ship back towards the closest fleet and/ or Starbase, engage maximum warp back signaling, an emerging fleet wide emergency, all the while more than likely attempting to evade and fight off 2 joined fleets, with enough luck and creative solutions, I'd be able to make it back to the hopefully amassed Starfleet reinforcements.

We where invited to meet with them at there home world, though they appear to be offering to both sides, to start a war at this point may be jumping the gun. We have free passage through there space after all and there word we will not be fired at. I would send the message to starfleet, and appraoch this meeting. At this point they know us & starfleet are aware of this meeting and we are here, if attacked and killed, that will force them to make the "Act of War". Put the ball in there court. If i recall this mission is a no win scenerio. It's a judge of character. The destuction of a peace envoy will spark a War the Romulans may not be ready for. I'd record, remain silent till ships disperesed or then engage on my regular schedule trasit. If bugged by either side i'd go with my cover as an enovy to Romulus. Wheather its a problem to them or not it wouldnt matter because I was expected. And then Id transmit my recordings in a regular update along with saying I entered Romulan space. Then Id inquire about the Romulan intentions with the dilithium and also their intentions with the Kilingons and mention that two fleets were spotted by and recorded by a starfleet listening post. Two fleets not engageing must mean that it wasn't much of a standoff and that the romulans were making a deal with the Klingons to. Im sure SFC would instruct me to invistage at Romulus further, and pressure the Romulans, that with a peace treaty, that they should not to engage in econmical and military trade till the crises in the Gorn sector is resolved. But knowing the Romuluians, that'd be a tough call, and any hidden agenda will have to be dealt with accordiningly. I'd keep my skip on the fritz, on the look out for any trouble, ranging from another split in the Heiarchy of the Romulian empire, to another, yet unlikly, ambush from the Romulians. Starfleet quality there?

I would "Drop" a small probe that would transmit the needed distress and assitence signal to starfleet in the Tamarian language (http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Tamarian_language) (or similar UT difficult language), in the probe there would be placed a small pasher in the probe set to overload after the message is sent, then I would hopefully maneuver my way with thrusters (not impulse) to a safe distance from the probe to await reinforcements, if they do not arrive I would attempt to diplomatically approach the Klingon and romulan ship, if all else fails and escaping at warp is not possible, set ramming course for the Klingon vessel whilst firing everything on board at the romulans (and Evacuating the ship).

There has always been a sense of distrust of Federation by some but not all romulans therefore it could be the Tal Shire making a deal with the Clingons. I would send a covert message to Starfleet through subspace or maybe use a long range probe so as to avoid detection and monitor communications between the Romulans and the Clingons. Why would the Romulans be trading such an important commodity to their enemy? That is the question
You can't just wait around, and hope they don't find you. Even the laziest crew glances at their sensors now and again, and you have to assume that by the nature of the meeting, some of them are paranoid at best. It's only a matter of time until you're discovered. I would do the following (assuming I'm in a decent ship).
Leave a volunteer with the recorded message inside a shuttle pod that has been jettisoned from the ship, with only life support on. This volunteer will have orders to jump to warp as soon as we are out of sensor range, and get that message to the nearest star fleet base.
Do a micro warp jump to get their attention, in the direction of the SECOND closest star fleet base (or something that would be large enough to withstand the attack of the ships that will be following). Then as soon as they noticed, I'd go to maximum warp blaring the message as loud as my subspace communications system can blare it.

"Computer, end tactical simulation. Erase this file, as the Romulan Star Empire is no longer a strategic threat", the Admiral said sadly as he walked from the holodeck...
Pays to watch the history leading up to STO :)
hm, this is interesting. I would as every one else would say, record the conversation, and clarify it with my language specialist. (Considering it was the captain and not the specialist who translated it in the first place) and if the translation confirms this I would send any civilian members and my communications officer onto a shuttle and send them to a safe distance to send the message of treachery. in the meantime, I would send a distress call stating that my reactor is blown (i'll fake it by leaking plasma) and require immediate romulan assistance, while charging weapons. If the romulans want to remain inconspicuous, they will send the ship near the klingons to help. Once their crew is beamed onboard I will hold them hostage until the captain of their ship sends me the info I need. if he tries to call for backup i'll ignite the plasma and give him some damage, plus start torpedoing him, and threaten the crewmembers good one!

Oy,
My 3rd fav alien race in Star Trek….ah well. Let me see. Well, thing of it is….The Fed must be warned. My crew knew the risk when they joined Star Fleet. I send a coded massage back to Star Fleet and raise shields. I’ll turn my ship around as soon as I can and try to warp back to federation space… however star fleet must be warned first. If my character dies in battle to get the massage threw so be it. If I don’t, how many fed citizens will die? Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet. And hope for the best.

I first first check for some sort of subspace anomolys if there was one i would attempt to use it to get a message back to starfleet I would then encrypt my message to star fleet and send it. However if there was nothing to hide my subspace message enter warp at the first chance i got and send my message hoping that i could get a message to start fleet for reinforments asap.

Right, well. Record the conversation, obviously. During which time, have a shuttle prepared to auto-pilot a collision course straight at the nearest Klingon vessel. Perhaps even fill the shuttle with torpedoes, though i'm guessing by the time it reaches the ship, shields would be raised and weapons fired at the shuttle long before it would do any damage so maybe not. That aside, after gathering as much info as possible, jettison the shuttle away from the ship with no engines on, before activating the autopilot when the shuttle is far enough away to draw attention away from my position. At the same time as activating the auto-pilot, activate the programmed hailing message, also eminating from the shuttle, with the following message:
"Starfleet thanks the Romulan fleet for it's assistance in gathering vital intelligence of the Klingon Empire." I would make sure that this was intended for both the Klingons and the Romulans, hopefully in an attempt to agitate the suspiscions of the Klingons enough for them to open fire. As the engine of the shuttle is activated, my ship immediatly jumps to warp in the direction of the nearest Starbase/Fleet, sending a coded message at the same time. If anything, the distraction will give my ship a head start, and hopefully my message is diplomatic enough not to incur anger from Romulas.

Do nothing.
At least not right away...
Why compromise your position when they can't detect you and you could potentially learn further information? If they start discussing things like... an invasion of the Federation, then you send off a message and hightail it back to friendly space.
Best thing to do would be to wait until they finish their talks and leave, then you can leave without them ever knowing you were there.

You most assuredly start with the waiting game. You listen to and record as much of the conversation as you possibly can. In preparation for the two fleets cloaking and departing, you simultaneously prepare three items: 1) a rotating-encryption communication packet sent to a few of the nearest Starfleet relays, 2) a handful of warp-capable probes to be sent to the coordinates of the nearest well-armed Starfleet bases, and 3) a copy of the communications the Romulans sent to Starfleet to be relayed to all of the Klingon ships at once.
Then, you proceed with caution. Go to red alert, getting all personnel prepared to engage at a moment's notice. Prepare the warp-probes to be launched immediately, with real-time updates of all the goings on downloaded into them (and to the prepared comminications). Have a contingency plan that sends the probes to warp from inside the ship's hull if you have to; your ship and crew are expendable compared to the severe implications of this alliance.
Unfortunately, you are dealing with Romulans and Klingons, so there is no guarantee that the fleet will actually be departing immediately upon engaging their cloaks. When they do so, be prepared to be confronted by one or more ships that decloak in front of you (especially the Romulans, sneaky bastiches). Attempt to leave the system slowly and quietly, by ejecting material from the ship rather than engaging impulse drives.
Regardless, if you are confronted or no, send all three plans out at once; the communique to Starfleet relays, the one to the Klingons, and the probe. If you are confronted, warp to the nearest base. If you are not confronted, set course for your scheduled rendezvous with the Romulans, but send out another message requesting back-up on said rendezvous, preferably hidden just beyond sensor range. As for what goes on when you meet with the Romulans? That's a whole other story, my friends. ;)

I would evacuate my crew via escape pods and shuttles. After the safety of my crew is ensured I would record three different messages 1) for starfleet informing them of the situation, 2) for the klingons attempting to make it appear as though it is a trap and the romulans double crossed them, and 3) one for the romulans, again making it appear as though it is a trap and the klingons had double crossed them. After which I would utilize my deflector dish to make it appear as though I have a fleet of starfleet vessels with me and charge the waiting group, placing the helm and tactical systems on autopilot. Then taking the time to evacuate myself and providing time for my crew to get to safety.

First I would not communicate with Star Fleet. I would store the transmission in something other than the main computer, maybe my EMH assuming I have one. I would then order the EMH to delete itself has soon as the situation goes south. I would then set course for Romulus on impulse and wait to be hailed because even Klingons hail before attacking.:D
I'd play the innocent card, I would send my orders to the Klingons and would hopefully have Romulan authorization or something. Explain to the Klingons that this Romulan does not have the empires approval whether he does or not. I would have the Klingon vessel believe that the ships that would go to the Dilithium reserves would be taken and the crew captured. If and hopefully when the Klingons believe my story the Klingons would either try to destroy the Romulans or the Romulan vessel will cloak and warp away. This would mean my ship was responsible for keeping several Klingon crews from being dishonored. I'd point that last part out to the Klingons if I felt I wasn't pushing my luck.
Either way after it was all over I would get the message I stored in the EMH back out and send it to StarFleet as soon as possible.
Problem solved.

I like this one. First I would continue to lay low. I would record everything that was being transmiiited inbetween the two fleets. As soon as I got as much intel as I could, I would load the information into a probe. Looking at the past of Star Trek, I would make sure the probe was a wrap capable and had a cloak installed. I would launch the probe to Starfleet with the valuable intel and cloak it. The probe would be set to start transmitting the intel as soon as it reached Federation space. I would then launch a quick attack on the two fleets. My goal of the attack would be to give the probe time to reach Federation Space. If my ship was destroyed, so be it. At least Starflleet should get the intel.

Sit tight and record the information. If the information is High Priority and knowing I'm going to be detected at some point anyway, I'd have my Comm and Science Officer figure out a way to Pggyback a signal to Starfleet using the Klingon and Romulan Communication Arrays. If Message traffic between the 2 ships is high,(which it would be during negotiations) then the chance of Detection decreases significantly. If I'm not detected (unlikely) record everything for any follow up transmission to Star Fleet and proceed to the meeting as planned.
If I am detected I should have got the message out already and enacting the Emergency escape plans which others on this thread have explained already.

Subversion is not a Federation tactic. In best Federation tradition, you give both sides the benefit of the doubt.
After listening a while longer, if it seemed the Klingons were unaware of any prior deal with the Federation, I would approach the meeting and find out exactly what was going on. If it was obvious that the Klingons were perfectly aware of the dealings with the Federation and were trying to go behind our backs, then I would take the information back to Federation controlled space as quickly as possible.
In the first scenario, it's unlikely that either side would try to engage me; if the Romulans attacked, then they would show that they had bad intent, and the Klingons would likely engage the Romulans before they engaged us. I would approach at green alert unless either side activated shields or weapons, in which case I would raise alert level to match. If it seemed my ship was in danger, I would leave at maximum speed as with the second scenario.
Due to my poor grasp of Klingon, it's possible that the scenario is not at all what it sounds like; it could, for example, be a Romulan ship assisting a struggling Klingon ship with additional fuel, or it could be a rogue Romulan faction that is not affiliated with the faction that offered the Federation its dilithium. However, you would expect the universal translator to be extremely well versed in Klingon by now, as the Federation deals with Klingons on an almost daily basis.
Both the Romulans and the Klingons are at peace with the Federation right now, so in none of these scenarios would I be in the wrong, or provoking either side against the Federation, as the Federation should have the right to investigate something like this.

first off id start by using maneuvering thrusters and 5 second bursts of 1 quarter impulse power to maneuver around the edge of the system and place probes to listen in on and triangulate where they go when they leave, in a tight beam transmission, because id REMEMBER that Romulus has just been destroyed in a supernova so there MAY be more than 1 r 2 factions competing for power right now and when they have gone i would complete my mission like nothing has happened then go back to Federation space and report on what happened.

Well since the romulans expect you to come oblige them with a friendly greeting to interupt their conversation with the klingons being absolutely oblivious to the fact that the klingons are there and give them an eta. Cut transmission, prepare a fake delivery via holographic mobility and use a small amount real stuff to give them a signature for transport. They have simply beamed it to their cargo bay with some tongue talking and you leave at high warp having gathered even more information than you could have dreamed of. If they don't buy the smooth sluething you threaten them on the war scale knowing that if your ship is missing the feds will not stop until justice is done.

As a captain my duty is to my ship and crew, but as a proud member of the United Fedaration of Planets I would have to say that my duty to the fedaration takes priority. I know it would most likely cost my life and the lives of my crew, I would record the message send it to Starfleet, try to sow some confuson between the two fleets and try to get back to fedaration space. If we die then we die knowing that due to our sacrifices the Fedaration would be warned, because "The needs of the many outway the needs of the few, or the one".

ive tried thinking of many differant stratagies to this and this one is probably a little rushed but in a situation like that your time to think would be greatly limited i was contemplating taking out there weapons systems but realised that youd be out of weapons range and out gunned if you got to close wether they escape or not wouldnt be important warning the federation ofcourse would be so i decided on a crude yet simple strategy start the engins kick into warp send the message to star fleet get a spacific distance from the ships and then come out of warp turn the ship and wait once the message has been sent what you tryed to accomplish youve already done and its possible that only one of the enemy ships would persue you since chances are the romulan would disapear so atleast that would even the odds and boost your chances of staying alive and sending the message and the advantage is even if they both follow you theyd have to go into warp so by the time they reach you youd have atleast a few seconds to fire where there shields would be down ofcourse there is the added downside of them bot having cloaking devices but aslong as the message reaches the federation then thats all that matters then needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few

Stay and record everything, then when they leave continue on with the mission. Make all the standard diplomatic protocols with the Romulans regarding your original mission. Once finished with the mission send the info to Starfleet away from prying eyes. It may be that its no big deal or it may be used as leverage later on, but that's not my business i say let the all-knowing fed council work it out.

Still not a Kobayashi Scenario
Agreed. Not even a problem... unless something would happen next.
You record everything; you report back when they're gone; the negociators now have an ace in the hole to sway the Romulans... or to win the Klingons over.
The Romulans are free to commerce with anyone they like... and if their efforts leads to stability, why intervene? If they profit from all deals, good for them. what is the problem? We are not out there for profit or to start unwarranted trouble!
This scenario is the baddest made one yet. very disappointing.

all you have to do is use thrusters to slowly back away and then send out a false Omega signal to starfleet so that all ships in the region converge on you position. inform them of the double dealing. then send a comunique to starfleet and go in guns blazing on the klingons right after they have lowered their sheilds for transport of the dilithium. And that's that.

[...]
[...]
Important information in this text:
"recent aggressive actions from the Klingons"
Means: The Klingon empire are attacking the Romulan (pretty much straightforward).
"to come to Romulus"
Means: only a nitpick here, but isn't Romulus destroyed?? ;)
"Much to your surprise, they're not destroying each other."
Means: The Klingon aren't attacking. Maybe not so hostiles...
"Your command of the Klingon tongue is not great"
Means: We're bad at Klingon, so we could make mistakes.
"The Romulan captain is promising the Klingon their dilithium deposits."
Means: Same promise done to the federation. (but see previous point)
"Any transmission that would reach Starfleet would be detected"
Means: We can't send any informations. Not with probes, not with anything.
"as would any movement from your vessel"
Means: We can do nothing else than staying totally immobile and silent if we don't want to be found.
What can we know with the current historical situation and politic:
-If I remember well, the Klingons broke their treaties with the federation at this time, so they are at war...
-Klingons are known to have mercy for those who surrender without questions.
-Romulan don't usually surrender easily.
What we could deduce:
-The two ships are relatively intact, as there is no mention of it. So, no battle between them.
-There is more information in this discussion that we can know because we don't know the Klingon language enough.
-We are safe as long as we don't move.
-The Klingons will surely attack if they see me.
-The Romulan will be furious if they find out I've been eavesdropping. (not very diplomatic to do so, it's like espionage)
With all this considered, I would play dead until they are gone, listening to their conversation a bit more. I would ask my communications officer to translate it better, or if he can't, to get the recording through the universal translator. Comparing my translation with the universal translator, I would try to understand more of the conversation. What are the Romulan asking for their dilithium deposits? Are they even asking for something? Is it possible the Romulan ship surrender to the Klingon one? Are they talking about the federation? My reaction would come out of the answer of these questions (and every bit of additional info I could gather). If they surrender (very doubtful), I'll assist, attacking they Klingon vessel. If they are talking about a trap against the federation, I'll wait until they're gone and go back to federation space to alert Starfleet. I would do the same if the Romulan are luring both the Federation and the Klingons in a trap, but I'll try to contact the Klingon ship to tell him about the double deal.
PS: I'm a relatively recent fan of Star Trek, so there is a lot of things I don't know,or that I know wrong, so there is a great deal of probability that there is some informations here that are just plain wrong. Sorry about that. But it is the best I could come up, with the explanations for my choices. So if you want to discuss it, go away, if I was really a captain, I would have asked for advices to my crew.
[EDIT] I like your idea soldieroffaith!

I’d make a note of the conversation (between the Romulans and the Klingons) but continue on our way to Romulus. We are going there to negotiate a treaty; if they attack us then it’d show that the Romulan government wasn’t acting in faith when they contacted the Federation, and thus diplomatic relations will be strained.
If they don’t intercept us or stop us and we get to Romulus I would continue negotiations and give the Romulan government a copy of the transmission we intercepted. Instead of accusing them of anything I’d suggest to them that members of their government might be colluding with the Klingons behind their back. This way it would appear that we are providing information to assist them. If they did know they would likely still thank us for providing the information and if they didn’t know they would likely deal with the commanders of the offending Romulan vessels.

I would send out some of my High Warp shuttle craft on automatic pilot and have them broadcast the sensor signature of Starfleet Battleships, and then send the shuttles in opposite directions. I would hope that most if not all of the Klingon ships would give chase. Any power signatures detected from the launch of the shuttles would be assumed to be from the Battleships. I would also set the shuttles to self destruct after they are well away from me, so that no sensitive Starfleet tech would end up in the hands of the Klingons. Once the Klingons are well out of range I would high tail it back to Federation territory, screaming blue murder all the way back on the secure com channels.
The loss of some unmanned shuttles is a small price to pay for the lives of my crew, and the safety of the Federation.

This warrants a more steady approach . monitor all traffic remaining at a yellow alert .
Once all players are identified copy all transmissions. and ship signals.
Then wait on the arrival time and proceed with mission.
This will remove crew endangerment and ship safety.
As well upon concluding the mission report back to starfleet command on what transpired and the mission negotations with the romulans noting that the turtle heads are in the playing field as well .
This will bring a more evenhanded approach to dealing with the romulans and perhaps levarage in further negotations with them on using the information attained from the meeting they had with the turtle heads.

I am not sure of what you have to achieve to consider it a success but here is the solution I came up with
I would make 3 messages to send simultaneously
The first being to starfleet warning them of the ambush and having them stop all of the advancing
ships and falling back to the closest location we can fortify to give us an advantage
The second would be to the Klingons but, I would have it written in Romulin to look like it was sent to
them by mistake and it would state "The bait ship is in place and will warp away in exactly 1 minute
let the Klingons follow first and when they stop we will engage them from the front and you will
engage them from behind and when this is all over we will split their mines 60% for you and 40%
for us as agreed upon. We have also sent a message to the Klingons saying we have seen
through the ruse and will not fall for it"
The third would be to the Romulins but, I would have it written in Klingon to look like it was sent to
them by mistake and it would state "The bait ship is in place and will warp away in exactly 1 minute
let the Romulins follow first and when they stop we will engage them from the front and you will
engage them from behind and when this is all over we will split their mines 60% for you and 40%
for us as agreed upon. We have also sent a message to the Romulins saying we have seen
through the ruse and will not fall for it"
I would then send the messages and wait exactly 1 minute, to give them time to translate and read
the message, to warp away to where the other starfleet ships are waiting.
The desired effect is that the Romulins and Klingons would both turn on each other and ignore me
Should they not open fire on each other but come to a agreement over the com I would be with
my fleet in a fortified location expecting them giving us the advantage now even out gunned we
should have no problem over taking both factions.
For any reason that I could not send 3 messages at the same time I would have 1 message sent
from the bridge and the other 2 each sent from a different shuttle pod as they have coms as well
If success means that you have to destroy both factions then given the scenario that they turn on
each other I would simply wait with the fleet for about 15 minutes to half an hour then warp in
and play clean up
I hope this constitutes a success and thanks for letting me play

Definately get ready for a fight, just in case im detected, record the message, and wait. However, in the event of being discovered, send the message back to Starfleet while trying to disable some of their ships, then before things get worse, get out of there, going as fast as my ship can.

I would order communications to keep listening to the other ships. Then lay in wait until my normal arrival
time hoping all the ships had left the area pending my arrival. IF this is the case I would meet with the
ROMULANS and take proposal back to the FEDERATION . Also reporting the meeting between the
KLINGONS and the ROMULANS. Now if the ships have not moved off . I power all systems order
a message of the plan we have stumbled onto. Order warp speed . With luck and a quick enough jump
we make it back to the FEDERATION side of the neutral zone

I would order my crew to prepare to send a transmission to Starfleet Command, containing everything we have discovered. I would then order them to the escape pods and shuttles, telling them to try to hide their warp signatures. I would set a colision course for the Romulan flagship, and enage full engines. I'd go to warp and exit as close to them as I can. I would fire all weapons, doing and much damage as I can (preferably to the traitorous Romulan jerks) and try to hit the specified romulan flagship with as much speed as possible. At the last moment, I'd beem to the surface of a nearby M-class planet with supplies. With luck, the chaos in space would stop them from noticing the transport. I'd set up a beacon to a starfleet channel, and wait it out, hoping no other ships detect it.

There doesn't seem to be any real evidence that its a trap. Specificly it appears that the Romulans are attempting to offer their supplies to both sides. The clear advantage of that policy is that they profit from both sides and gain some level of gratitude from the victorious side no matter who wins. Currently my ship is undetected. It is important that the Federation learns of the Romulan plan, but currently I still have a mission to complete, and there is no current danger of my ship being lost. As such I would sit listening and recording comm traffic until such a time as either the Klingons left their meeting or I was compromised. If I was able to wait out the Klingons, then I must complete my mission by contacting the Romulans... (after of course sending an encrypted file containing whatever recorded comms I was able to get.) The timing of such a contact is critical, however. To give myself the best chance at a possitive first meeting on the subject of obtaining supplies I would space my supposed arrival in system somewhat after the Klingons left so that the Romulans could continue without the appearance of impropriety.
If my position was compromised prior to the end of the meeting between the Romulans and Klingons then clearly all bets are off and I must look to the safety of my ship and crew. Assuming that the Klingons attacked or appeared to be seeking an engagement I would have to consider my ships tactical capabilities and may well be forced to withdraw and send what intel I've been able to collect. If they chose not to engage, then we go back to I have a mission to complete. I would make contact with the Romulans and try to aquire war materials.
In some respects it might be better to be caught by the Klingons. Watching the Romulans to see if they wished to engage me as well would give the Federation valuable intel on which side the Romulans were taking. If the engage its likely their hostile. If the sit idle, then we can continue to assume that they intend to remain neutral. It is unlikely with the presence of Klingons that they wish to ally with the Federation against the Klingons.
Its wordy, but I think this answer sufficiently covers my possible options.

I would ensure that my Comm officer was recording the communications between the Klingons and Romulans. I would then put the data into a message buoy and send it toward Federation space, programmed only to transmit when it was half a million kilometres from the ship (which should place it outside THEIR long range sensor range). Due to the size of the probe, it would be unlikely to get picked up since it's propulsion is at sub-light speeds. I would then have my tactical officer determine the size and likely armaments of the ships we had detected to determine the best course of action that would protect my ship and crew. Once we had completed that analysis, I would likely open a channel to the Romulan government in an effort to take them by surprise and advise them that I was en route. I would tell them that an ion storm had disabled long-range sensors and that we had to drop out of warp to affect some minor repairs before resuming course. Hopefully the Romulans and Klingons would take off toward their respective Empires and give me time to return to Federation space at high warp while also opening communications with Starfleet. I would recommend to mobilize a fleet at the Klingon border while also having Starfleet intelligence take the Romulan ambassador into custody for interrogation. I would also recommend that our diplomatic corps be recalled from Romulus for some lame reason like "supplementary training or briefing" to ensure they were out of harms way.

Quote:
[/QUOTE]
Due to the recent attacks on the Romulans by the Klingons I would sermise that the Romulans are infact not going to honour this pack with the Klingons, If indeed they made one, as my Klingon tongue 'is not great' & prior to my arrival the Romulans wanted to aid the federation. Seeing as the Romulans always look at the big picture, I'm sure they thought the Federation would be easyer to control/deal with, then the Klingons (Who from the sounds of things have be raiding the Romulans & making demands)
Add to that 'two large groups' of each races ships together in one place & not firing... Doesn't make sence, you would only need two ships for a meeting of this kind.
I'd have my communications officer run the intercepted message again & have him/her & the computer translate the message.
The Romulans could be stalling the Klingons in the hopes that the Federation will come to it's aid. So I'd keep my ship powered down & use manovering thrusters only to try & get my ship into a safer location, such as over a planets pole if the ship was in danger of being spotted by either side.
I'd send the recored message to star fleet in the form of a communication boey/probe advising them of the situation & the need of a possible fleet action. But also adding that no action should be taken unless we fail to report back to star fleet within 13 hours - 1 hour after the proposed meeting with the Romulans.
In this time i would continue to monitor communications & if indeed the Romulans are being forced to hand over the dilithium deposits communicate this information to star fleet & request the reinforments that should now be in place from the first message probe reaching them.
With any luck the federation could save the day & help bring the Romulans one step closer to aligning with us.
If the Romulans are willingly helping the Klingons I would assess with my tactical officer to see if it was possible to make a surgical strike on the ship(s) carrying the dilithium deposits to stop them falling into Klingon hands. I'd also request reinfocements from star fleet.
Well my first Kobayashi Maru posting. I hope it's not too long or boring :)
I must now go to bed. Good night & thanks for reading.

First I would avoid detection at all cost, I would Have my Com. Officer maintain recording the event. The Question would be why are the Romulains dealing with the Kligons? A How would that affect the Federation? The ony information we have to go on is the Quote. So to assum anything here would be reactionary. I would play the waiting game. Having warp ready. Also be tactical ready How many ships? What ship Im I in , A Steamrunner Class , theres no way to engage at all in this class. Maybe a Soveroun, I wouldnt in gage in a Galxay class to bulking aginst Brid-of-Prey. Thers no threat because the Romulins are up to there own tricks agin. And mostlky its the Kligons that are up to no good.
I would trace there wrap trails as they left to see wich direction , I would then proceed with my Mission to Romuls as ordered. I would then Ask the Ambassador H'Daen Jomarabout the situation. To see if any sentors have gone rouge. Romulin politics changes everyday. Then based on that information I would proceed to wich wrap trails I would follow first. Find out as much as i could before returning to starfleet with a full report. Not just speculation. Thats a non-voilent encounter.
If any indication of time and location of the cystal exchnage that then becomes proity one to stop the shipment of cystals. I would jave to get a meesage to the ambassator for reenforments or contact star fleet are selfs..
In case tthe relations of the siutation became unstable between the Romulin and Kligons. I would contact the Lead WarBrid and they better tell me what I want to hear or Im opening a com link to the Lead Brid-of-Prey And telling them all. Mostl likley the Romulins would cut and run if not Im engaing the WarBrids to assist the Kligons.. I then would have new Kligon friend. Romulins would not open attack a federation starship on a Diplimatic mission. I then would have to explin my actions to starfleet why I fired on a Romulin Vessle.
"Cowboy Diplomacy"
I disagree with most of the comments do to the fact your in space and your the only ship out there. Information and time is cricual. Retruning to starfleet or even federation space is not an option here. Sub-space singals encypted and probes are the best way to contact starfleet. Romulis is closer than federation space if the Ambassador as the approval of the Senate then these are rouge Romulin ships. Mostliky you will get support from the Romulain Empire.

Reconfigure the warp engines to change their sensor profile to that of a Ferengi Marauder. I'd then go to low warp, to make it seem like I was just passing through, wait until I was out of sensor range, then hot foot it back to Federation space to consult with Starfeet about what course of action to take.

I know that if I were to move my ship the Klingon's and Romulans would spot us however, if we were to stay we would be spotted, but what could be done to benefit the federation even more is to gather as much intelligence as possible. Ship types, ship numbers, and the whole works. Ready a message to Star Fleet in case the ship is spotted before any Intel is gathered. With hope and a prayer it's just a meeting that I happened to come across. Possibility number two is that both factions knew that you were coming and expected that more then one ship was accompanying the envoy and planned to intercept them. In any case the Federation needs to know what is going on. If the two fleet commanders are talking about an arrangement between the two sides the odds are in favor of it as just being a meeting, and I have the advantage because I haven't been spotted. The fleets would then leave and my ship and crew would be in less danger, but not quite out of the fire. I would leave the area as fast as possible heading towards Federation space. I would then send a detailed encoded message to Star Fleet. Reason being I wouldn't send it sooner would be to avoid the message being intercepted. From there head to the nearest Star Base and await orders. In the case the enemy fleet was sent to intercept you and the envoy I would ready a detailed encoded message to Star Fleet. Then would bring the ship to combat readiness. Here is how the battle plan works out. I would fire spreads of torpedoes however, not at the ships but rather in between them, but not far apart from a ship. When you fire a torpedo it act like a sledgehammer with nitroglycerin as its head. It's good for one ship, but not all. Once the spread's of torpedoes reaches I'll use phasers to detonate the torpedoes which in theory would act as depth charges and do splash damage, and possibly hitting any of their cloaked counterparts. Since you haven't locked any of the enemy ships it wont alert them right away even when alerted they will see no torpedo is heading for any ship and ignore them and focus on the ship. With any luck their shields will be down. I would divert all power except life support, thrusters, and weapons to shields. See phasers if fired at a torpedo would simply vaporize them, so to help out with shields divert some of the energy from them but enough to cook off the charge. Attempt to jam any communication from enemy ships, and unleash a surprise I would hope to God they wouldn't see coming. Their shields couldn't take volley after volley of "depth charges". Once a good portion of damage is done, by then possibly even to our ship, focus the remaining torpedoes, not implying the depth charge method for maximum damage, and phasers on the heavier class ships and work my way down. Do enough damage to cripple and disable them to avoid being hunted down then fly as fast as human engineering will allow back to Federation space. If that didn't work then we blew up, and put up a good firework show, but Star Fleet probably got the message and is aware of what happened. If it worked the ship sustained a lot of damage, but the ship and the crew is still alive for the most part. Fly to the second nearest Star Base send off another message to Star Fleet stating the ship and crew status. Dock and await for orders.

This week's scenario was submitted by Blakery. Good luck!
I see that noone here has read, much less understood, the scenario. You have caught the Romulans with their proverbial pants down around their ankles. You believe the best response is to record the conversation, transmit the conversation to Starfleet, and then run like a bat out of H###.
There is obviusly something going on here that the Romulans don't want anyone to know about. I believe that they are trying to provoke a confrontation between the Klingons and Starfleet, but there is no way to know at present as to why. I am sure the powers that be on earth would probably like to know why as well.
Since neither the Klingons nor the Romulans have detected your ship yet, it is highly unlikely they will as long as you continue to play dead. The Romulans know that the Klingons will be just as excited, as Starfleet was, at the news given by the Romulans, and it is very likely that both the Romulans and the Klingons will leave the area in the direction towards the source of the crystals in question. This means they will be going away from your ship, and it gives you an excellent opportunity to catch the Romulans in the act of their deception. Follow them.
After you have caught the Romulans giving the Klingons the crystals, then make a mad dash back to Starfleet HQ. The council can then confront both the Klingons and the Romulans with the evidence, and in the end, the Romulans will be leaving the meeting completely embarrassed because they were exposed as to their scheme to cause trouble between the Klingon Empire and Starfleet. The Romulans won't try that again.

Maintain silence and record the transmission. while waiting, all that's left is wait and see what happens. Should there be any slightest danger to the ship. Turn about the ship and maneuver away using thrusters. Assuming Kilingon and the Romulans within or close to the Nebula due of the fact that the two ships yet to detect mines while I detect their ship AND intercepting their transmission, I'd use the Nebula to my advantage.
Whatever happens after, sending the transmission to StarFleet is top priority

I would just sit back and keep my ears open. Then when the Klingons and Romulans leave i would go meet with the ambassador and ask for an explenation. If i do get discovered i simply state i am aware of the Romulans offer to the Klingons and tell the Klingons we got the same offer. Since Romulans are known for treachery and the Klingons know this they might end up shooting each other :D
And if it is a combined Romulan Klingon trap i just withdraw to Federation space maximum warp and advise them of the situation.

Send a coded message to Starfleet right away, then hail the Romulan ships and ask if there is trouble and if you can assist in any way. Chances are they called you there for an actual meeting, and not just to blow you out of space. What sense would that make? If it IS a plot against Starfleet and not just some rogue captin, blowing up one ship would be too costly a move to make. Plus, why would an ambassador notify Earth, and the Klingons just get some guy floating in space? Just play along. Have your helmsman plot in a course for the nearest starfleet base, and if anybody opens fire at you, engage. Not that hard.

05-10-2009, 05:52 AM
The plan:
Send encoded transmittion to Starfleet Command, power up and approach at low warp, the romulans would be unlikely to fire upon us as that would risk starting a war that they could not possibly wage, the klingons on the other hand might revel at the prospect of a good fight. In the transmittion to starfleet it would include:
"Investigating romulan situation, should the ship come under fire, I will initiate General Order 47. This will of course mean the destruction of the ship and any ship within a 200,000 kilometer radius amd will leave behind a "dead zone" to be avoided for the next four years."
In case the bluff is called I will dump all available (and some more) power into the engines and get the hell outta there. If they fall for the bluff it will distrupt any agreement between the two powers - giving starfleet enough time to advice me on my next course of action.

I would launch several class 9 probes towards the ships. while they are busy tractor beaming the the probes I would go warp 9.95 to the federation base that I came from. I would rally a fleet and use the probes sensors to track the location of the ships we would than disable the ships and what ever alse happens, happens.

With all due respect and apologies to the author, as with other recent Kobayashi Maru trials, this one is not necessarily a lose-lose 'no win' scenario ,and therefore not a very good KM. KMs needs to be 'no win' scenarios that drive serious creative thinking.
Consider that KM 12, as written, is basically a story of being 'double crossed'. The question for a KM trial here is 'so what, it happens in life all the time. Its the plot of many movies.' In this scenario, if I do nothing, what does it matter. Was it made clear that the Federation needs these dilithium supplies else it will lose the war against the Klingons? Was it made clear that if the Klingons get their hands on it it would give them an awesome advantage against the Federation? Was it made clear that these are the exact same Romulans making the same deal? Not really. So what does anyone have to lose? If there is nothing to lose, beyond some dilithium crystals, this isnt really a KM 'no win' trial.
Ok, so I'll get off my box now. One could infer that the klingons getting the dilithium will be bad for the federation and signals an alignment of the romulans with the klingons instead of with the Federation. In this scenario, destroying the klingons and romulans probably wont help federation relations with the romulans. Therefore, the only thing to do would really be to record the covert conversation and then later play it back to the same romulans who tried to sell us the goods in the first place, and catch them in their double cross and make them answer for it. If it was revealed that the romulans were allying with the klingons, then the federation would know what it needed to do next.
Again, there was no real 'no win' situation for my specific starship that i needed to work through though, as i see it.

Nice try, a commendable effort to find a solution... but, I would respectfully point out, Sir:it's hard to bluff successfully when the other players know your cards.
The trick might indeed work with a yet unknown space faring civilization like it did for Kirk against the First Federation Flagship Fesarius in ''The Corbomite Maneuver'';
it did work once with the Romulans a year later in ''The deadly Years'' since at the time, they knew almost nothing of each other and Kirk added,,,'' recently installed'' instead of being there from earlier years... wich the Romulans would have known to be totally false.
But now they know the trick...
Klingons have been allied to the Federation for at least half a century and in contact with them for over 2 more... Not taking spies and defectors into account, I would not assume that they would beleive they have missed such vital information for so long... especially that they even worked with Starfleet engineers to design some UFP ships like the Achilles class!
Moreover, if such a device actually existed, it would have been quite evident with all the conflicts they had against each other for centuries, and even together during the Dominion War.
This trick can only work against a species that knows nothing about the Federation. and only if there has been no exchange of fire whatsoever to invalidate the claim.
Against those that have been their very neigbors for almost 400 years... most unlikely.
With all due respect, Sir.

This week's scenario was submitted by Blakery. Good luck!
first of all i'd use a prob to get a message out to starfleet if they havent detected an entire ship noway they gonna detect a powered down prob.
once the prob is away i would focus on the interaction between the two factions, once both parties had left i would then continue to leave the system, after waiting 12 hours to make sure no-one cloaked remained behind.
if the prob was detected i would high tail it out of there, starfleet vessels are faster then both romulan and klingon vessels, a couple of well placed photons+phaser fire to take care of the engines and take my chances. The important thing would be to inform starfleet which i would have done since the prob would have been long gone due to my sudden appearence.
I would like to point one thing out, all of these simulations are pointless since you are only reacting to the initial exposure of a situation, the real KM is a complete simulation of a situation that responds to your responce. This si the main reason i havent even payed attention to the majority of these.

Spock said it best, the needs of many out weigh the needs of the few.. If you run run you risk being run down and destroyed or worse captured. If you send the message they will know your location but starfleet will know as well and may be able to send a ship that is near by to aid. And you always have the fighters chance...

On the other hand...
I could stay put and monitor/record the situation until the other ships show signs of noticing my presence. If they conclude their business and leave then i have effectively gathered all of the information I could and that would be paramount to the Federation's ruling of the situation.

LoL, I'm not sure if your allowed to criticise other peoples answers, but there is no points in waiting to see what happens and recording if your are not doing something about atleast attempting to alert Starfleet, you are not a scout ship this was simply a chance occurance if you get cought its over, first priority is to inform starfleet of the situation second is to research further, since there is no guarentee you will get another oportunity to report to Starfleet. You are dealing with Klingon and Romulan warbirds both of which are equiped with cloaking devices, there are multiple ships in the area so how many are cloaked?? are there any cloaked?
from the current comunications that your officer has intercepted this could be a joint venture, payment or maybe the romulans have been cought offguard. In what year is this taking place? If it is happening around 2370 your next question is what house are the Klingons under or what fleet are they under? since this will effect your next decision of wether to confront them or not. is this is happening in 2409 why on earth is a romulan vesel handing over such a valuable resource such as dilithium to the klingons when there race is now an endangered species with no real power needing to rebuild( im certain they have not rebuilt there civilisation into an intergalactic power over 20 odd years). So many things to take into consideration...
I just hope that cryptic is not planning on using these poor examples of a KM scenario to include them in the game, especially since half of these are just plain bad not to mention the fact that the majority of situation in Star Trek are not KM scenarios in any way.
man, no offense, but you're taking this waaaaay to serious.

do you really think that this example is that bad, that this will be something ppl would complain about? cause i dont.
its just me, but as far as i read through the episodes, i get a good feeling about this game. to me it seems, if these are examples of possible mission-types we're facing in the future, i would feel like i felt when i watched TNG as a teenager.

i would alert star fleet, shut all systems down except auxillary and have the mains ready to reactivate if detected. spy on the situation and listen. if noting is relevent and it truly is a private matter with no mention of a federation organization of any kind i would lay low. if undetected i would report a final statement to starfleet and maybe alert both factions leaders at there source leadership and let them know of the exchange to let them gain control over rogues if it ws rogue interaction. If DETECTED and it is hostile i return supressive fire and plot course to nearest starbase at maximum warp. if they wanna chase me they can chase me into a bee's nest.

I am not expected for another twelve or so hours so I would take this time to rig a probe to relay an encrypted message to starfleet containing the information we have witnessed and my plans for further investigation. I would sit further powered down to the bare minimums to prevent detection. Once I am due to appear I would have the probe set on a timer to launch once I have been long under way. All information collected, the actions taken with the probe and the probe inventory on my ship would be altered to hide it ever existed and to hide the mission it was sent on.
I would continue on my expected mission to further investigate the duplicity of the Romulans as it is possible that this Romulan deception is focused at the Klingons rather then Star Fleet. The events that would follow would further dictate my actions.

i would record the conversation and compress and manipulate the file to look like a fake spices transmission and disguse it as a normal subspace fluxuation rerouting through all possible major networks to make it look like a accedental transmition. when it reaches earth the transmition will become fuller and show up as obvious message and will be sent urgently to Starfleet command and Federation Command.

This week's scenario was submitted by Blakery. Good luck!
what kind of ship and weapons are at your disposal? i'd load all torpedo tubes manually and the fire them manually at the klingons, then power phasers and keep shooting until i go to warp. then at warp fire a buoy with all the info on it set to a 5 min time delay so the romulans won't pick up the transmission until it is fired off to starfleet hq.(to make them pay attention use an admirals name to say who its from.(they'll thank you later,i think.)

Preparation is everything. Re-route and divide all available power from weapons and unnecessary systems to communications and the warp drives.
Engage impulse slowly, in a course for the nearest starbase. With luck, the Klingons and Romulans will not see me as a spying threat, and make the tactical decision to not make a scene before their preparations are complete.
If i'm not so lucky, they will begin pursuit - The moment they begin pursuing me, jump to maximum warp speed, and begin absolutely screaming an encoded transmission to Starfleet Command, or any Federation ships in the area.

Well, I am pretty late to this game but my first instinct is what many people already posted:
Record the transmission and head back to Starfleet to inform them. No use stirring things up with a lone Starfleet ship against those odds.

Well, first post.
I would linger a bit to see what else I can glean from the situation. If I were to turn tail now without a full picture, I would hate myself for not seeing how the situation turned out. I would be greatly interested in seeing what else is said between the Romulans and Klingon's. If the Romulans are double crossing the Federation on this matter, they may be doing the same on others. The end of the talks could yield valuable information on what is really going on between the Klingon's and the Romulans. Seeing how I am not due at Romulus for another half day, I would spend the time finding out as much as I can about the two parties involved and whether or not they are acting with the approval of their governments.
If my ship were to go undetected during the talks and the other ships left on their merry way without noticing my vessel. I would wait till I was out of their sensor range, begin moving toward Romulus, all the while transmitting, on a secure channel, a copy of the communications between the ships and any other information about the officers on the ships and the identification of the ships that I would have been able to gain while watching them.
If they were to continue talking and my leaving was required by my time constraints, I would turn tail, engage maximum warp back to Federation space and begin transmitting the previously mentioned information back to Starfleet. If I were able to evade the pursuers, I would then turn to Romulus and continue on my course as if nothing had happened out of the ordinary. I would make some believable excuse up about the delay, citing something about the inefficiency of the refueling teams and how they are always taking longer than they should. This should allay any of their fears due to their arrogance that Romulans are better than everyone at everything.

The answer is simple for anyone that values their life and the lives of their crew. If neither the Klingons or Romulans have detected you simply record the transmission and wait for them to leave the area. Theres no value in taking the risk of running and screaming while surrounded. After they leave proceed back to Federation space with both the message and your butt intact.

05-10-2009, 07:42 PM
Well, the most obvious, safest was through this is to wait and see what happens. I would probably record the conversation, ordering the ship to prepare for maximum warp retreat while keeping everything within a stealthy level. I would then just sit there, waiting to see if the ships were to leave or not. If they leave, then I'm more then happy to just order a retreat to the nearest starbase and send the message to HQ.
If the ships noticed me, which I would find out through the conversation, then I would order a full retreat while getting the message that I recorded sent out as fast as possible. Hopefully keeping distance between the fleet and myself, if any form of weapon is fired, then a few proton torpedoes should help silence them, with the attack being a legal defensive manoeuvre. Along the way, I would either request assistance, or just try and get to the point where they break off.
Whatever happens, I am only trying to defend myself in the most logical way, and will gladly let the diplomats handle any of the other problems that happened

Kilingons are not known for diplomacy, so I gather that this meeting between the Romulans and the
Klingons is not a cordial one. I would have my science officer scan for additional Klingon or Romulan
ships in the vicinity, while have my communications officer record the conversation. I place the ship on Yellow Alert, just incase things go South. If my ship is spottted, I order my helmsman to do a hard 180 and punch it for maximum warp back to Federation space. It does not matter if my ship is one of the most heavily armed in the fleet, I am not risking the safety of my ship or crew in a needless firefight. If my ship is not discovered, I hold position to gather as much information possible while trying to alert Starfleet of the situation.
Once the meeting concluded, I would alert Starfleet and continue on with the mission at hand, acting as if I knew nothing of the meeting that I just witnessed.

As an emessary of the federation i would have the option of what ship i would like to take me to the meeting point. so i would choose a federation ship with a cloaking device i.e. the Defiant. i would have the defiant head to its destination cloaked. when i come across the romulans and klingons i would record the conversation. once the romulans and klingons are done chatting it up i would then get in range of the nearest federation outpost and transmit my data. then proceed to the meeting point with the romulans.
now if for some reason i wasnt able to choose what ship i wanted to take me to the meeting point, like so many others have suggested i would just stay at minimal power and record the conversation and wait till the romulans and klingons have left then transmit my data on a coded frequency.
KaptinJRN
05-10-2009, 08:20 PM
I would put the recording onto a probe, and attempt to transport it out of sensor range of the 2 ships. If my engineer is incapable of pulling it off, i will sit and wait for them to leave, with my finger on the "Haul Ship" button. when they do leave i continue on as if nothing has happened, and send the information when i am in the clear.
If i need to leave to make the rendezvous, i will try to send out a probe, and try to make it look like a ship has warped into the system, as i engage my warp field, trying to merge the too, hopefully to make it look like i just got there.
To me this sounds like a plot to see who will offer the best return to the Romulans for their Dilithium.

If the captains are meeting on one of the ships then thier shields would be down for transporter purposes.
1) If the Romulan leader is on one of the Klingon ships, I would transport a small concussive explosive near the quarters of the meeting. The klingons would assume this as an act of agression and attack the Romulan ship thereby creating a diversion allowing my ship to slip away undetected or at least give me a head start for a Federation outpost. The Klingons would likely declare war on the Romulans forcing them to ally with the Federation. Even if the Romulans find out it was the Federation they would have little choice considering the Klingons are now hostile.
2) If the Klingon leader is on one of the Romulan's ship or both groups have thier shields raised, I would send out 1 probe with the captains discussion to the nearest Federation outpost and 1 probe with a distress beacon. The becon would alert ships to our presence and create a diversion for the probe en-route for the outpost. Given that the Romulans are officially "Neutral", any hostile action would be percived as an act of war.
2a) If the Romulans turn hostile, I would give the order to warp to the SECOND nearest Federation outpost to inform the Federation of thier act of war.
2b) If the Romulans do not attack then I would raise a red alert and hail the Klingon ships. I would then proceed to inform them that they are interupting a treaty formation between the Federation and the Romulans. if the Klingons enguage then I would send a copy of my espionage to the Romulan captain demanding assistance in defeating the Klingons or the conversation they had with the Klingons gets sent to the rest of the Federation.

Well, well the Romulans are running a double cross nothing new then. You are going to find it very hard to run hide and cry about it back at Star Fleet so why not turn this to the Federations advantage then? Reconfigure your deflector dish to trick the other vessels into thinking there are more then one Federation vessel. Then get ready to transmit the data back to Star Fleet but at the same time hail and transmit data to the Romulan vessels bogus telemetry and varies thing that would give the impression that you are working together on an ambush. Now transmits the data and hit the Klingon vessels hard and fast try to knock out there engines but you are really only aiming for confusion. The element of surprise and the sensor ghosts will put the Klingons and the Romulans into disarray at least for a few moments now hot foot it out of there warp 9 to Federation space. In the heat of the moment the Klingons will have no other alternative then to believe that they have been lured into an ambush by the Romulans and will more then likely engage them. This will give you much needed time to escape. The Klingons upon further analysis of the attack will no doubt come across the transmission sent from one of the attacking Federation vessels to the Romulans that contains the aforementioned ambush information. This will solidify the belief that they have been double crossed by the Romulans and where lured there to be destroyed. It will at the very least ruin any possibility that the Romulans and Klingons will have any further dealings and potentially spark a war between the two. If that happens then your enemy the Klingons will be fighting a war now on two fronts and the Romulans will be more appreciative of an ally against a shared enemy. Remember when in doubt think like a Cardassian.

Captain's log, Supplemental.
We're near Romulan space, having left warp upon detection of a large number of vessels. Comms has managed to intercept their communications; it seems that the Romulans are offering the Klingons the same deal. We're running silent at the moment, and continuing to record. I've gone to red alert due to the presence of the Klingons, and I've got engineering and security on double shifts, checking all systems for readiness.
We're going to keep quiet for now, as there's no sign we've been detected. I've ordered a signal buoy prepared and updated with all of the recordings we've made so far, with pending orders to launch the buoy the moment we're detected.
Until then, we don't know enough to make another move.
End log.

I record the message, launch several probes in the opposite direction of home, that are programed to give off dominion warp signatures, and engage maximum warp to the nearest battle group. All the while I am sending the message to any starfleet operation that I can get my hands on that can forward the message to starfleet command.

Given the fact I am the new boy and am not totally versed in the online timeline, this answer may be totally wrong. However, I would transmit a copy of the Romulan message to Starfleet over to the Klingons. I would them raise shields and charge weapons and lock onto the Romulans. I would open hailing frequencies to the Klingons and explain the situation, hoping that the distrust between the Klingons and Romulans along with the Romulans known track record for deception would help convince the Klingons. If the Klingons didn't believe me then I would attack the Romulans anyway, declaring in Klingon style, that I was defending the honour of the Federation from the Romulan Pathks.

Once again, Sir you are clear-minded enough to see the obvious fact that so many are blind too.
This is not sarcasm, Sir. It is litteral.
Going down fighting is a Klingon attitude, not at all an admirable trait for a responsible Starfleet officer when there are so many alternatives; blackmailing either side is a Romulan attitude, not one expected, even less approved of a representative of the high moral values of the Federation.
Promoting and preserving Life, Freedom, Peace, and Prosperity for all are the cornerstones on wich any thought or action of all Starfleet officers must be based on. When force is used, it is because all other avenues have been spent or are not available, and always with as much restraint as possible. immoral acts however are never justifiable. Even Klingons knows that:

Play the patient game.
Record as much information as possible from the conversation. Remain powered down for as long as possible to avoid an incident that could spark hostilities with the Romulans.
With any luck, once the meeting has ended the two sides will go on their way, leaving us to proceed if still undetected. Continue on course to the meeting with the Romulans, but before arrival send the recording back to Starfleet for confirmation: do we use the information as a bargaining chip, or present it cleanly to the Romulans as potential evidence of a rogue faction.

Well it is obvious that the romulans want to play this as a win win scenario. either we take their deposits and continue the war with the klingons or it happens the other way around. A prudent captain would try and evade the opposing fleet, while trying to broadcast the information to starfleet, but since we havent got sufficient data on the capabilities of the opposing force, i would not run. instead i would transmit to all bands the invitation of the romulan empire to use their dilithium deposits against the Klingons. The Klingons would then attack the romulans thinking they have betrayed them, and in the midst of their battle i would escape. I would then launch 2 probes with the recorded message on opposite directions from where i am going. They would think that the probes would be information , so they would have to split their numbers in 3, giving me a chance to escape with the information back to starfleet space.

I would slowly launch shuttles filled with my crew 1 at a time in 15-20 intervals(this would take about an hour 20 min to 2 hours as i usually prefer smaller, faster ships) hopefully the power signiture will not be enough to get detected. i would have the shuttles fall back to minimum safe distance. After this i would begin to move my ship if they attack me ill be the only one to die and i might take a few with me and my crew escapes, if they dont attack i can pick up my shuttles and head home.

Either you wait for the ship to leave then head to federation space at max warp or you simply turn tail and get going ASAP.
The Romulan and Klingon ships are going to be far enough away that by the time they track you and engage, you will be out of range and danger. As for the apparent deception, have you ever met a Romulan before??? Shouldn't be a huge surprise.

I wait in space, drifting slowly, and recording the transmission. However, just in case there is an attack, I keep the ship's phasers trained on the lead Romulan ship, just in case they manage to detect me. I would rather inflame a war than let the Romulans double deal. If all went well, I would take turn and head for Federation Space at max warp.

It's clear that the Romulans are doing what they do best; look out for themselves at the expense of everyone else. They clearly want to supply both sides of the conflict to encourage the quick destructions of both sides. They probably expect to be able to waltz in and take what they want once both sides have sufficiently hammered on each other. I mean really, is there any surprise that Romulans are doing something underhanded? A leapard doesn't change its spots, after all.
I'd wait until the appointed time that we were supposed to arrive, and watch what happens. If the Klingons leave, then I'd 'show up' when I was supposed to, get the dilitium, and then report what has happened to starfleet upon my return. If they should choose not to continue doing business with the Romulans, then at least we got one shipment before it was all said and done with.

Given the fact that I would be detected as soon as I sent a transmission or went to warp, I would rig my shuttlepods to give off fake sensor echoes and warp signatures. Then before going to warp myself, I would depressurize my shuttlebays, have them sucked out into space without powering up yet and have them pre-programed to jump to warp at the same time in different directions. This would force the 2 fleets to split-up and give me a better chance of making it back to federation space with minimal diificulty.

As captain it is my responsibilty to ensure the safety of my crew; however the communications we picked up is most informative when in future dealings with both the Romulan and Klingon Empires. In this case i would have my engineering teams to take all of our available shuttles and have them modify the engins to emit my ship's warp signature. Once this is done my ship and most of the shuttles would warp at maximum speed heading back towards the federation save one. the remaining shuttle would still be emitting the false signature and it would also be rigged to have a core overload program that would activate once the enemy ship come into range that would do enough damage for the remaining shuttles and my ship to get some distant between us and the enemy fleet. now if the warp explotion wasn't enough to hamper the enemy fleet the other shuttles would all still be emitting my ship's warp signature . this would cause confusion amongst the enemy fleet. they would have to split up to effectively check on all of the false signatures. while still on course to the federation i would send out the communique to statfleet with the all the information we have gathered. hopefully we would get back to the federation safely, but if some enemy ships catch up with us alteast its not the enitre enemy fleet since some are still chasing the decoy shuttles, so we could possibly fight our way out. either way the message would reach starfleet.

There may be many ways to "solve" this ... all of which takes a risk. I do know what I would not do.
1) I would NOT run like crazy. You are undoubtedly going to alert EVERYONE to your spying actions. If you are going to make a bold move ... make it with purpose. Force a party to choose sides or take unpresidented action.
2) Seriously, why would you evacuate your crew into the middle of Romulan space when you KNOW that they may be handing the Federation over to the maw of the Klingons? You would be leaving them even more outnubered and without defense than if they stayed on your ship!
3) I wouldnt go blasting away. We know that the Romulans wait for you to make the first move so they arent going to do anything FIRST. The Klingons however will ... use that fact to your advantage. Force sides.
This stituation DEMANDS action. Waiting it out implies the same or more risks as any other option.

If they appear to be moving to intercept me I would go to maximum warp and head back to the nearest starbase, transmitting the message as I did so. If I was not detected, I would wait until all the ships were out of the sector, transmit the message to starfleet, and resume course for the rendezvous until and unless I recieved differing instructions. I'm a little confused by the scenario. How is this considered a "no win situation?" If your long range sensor pick up the conversation, it would be a no brainer to record it and return to Starfleet undetected.
However, I would propose an alternative. Depending on the amount of ships in the Romulan/Klingon conference I would hail any nearby Fleet ships to my area for possible assistance. If at all possible I get a couple more ships outside the range I am in to standy by. I would then fly to hailing distance and immediately contact the Flag Klingon vessel.
I would then state that I am en route to a conference with the Romulan Ambassador for the same reason as their presence there and politely ask what is going on. I should expect no Klingon to attack or pursue as Klingons are in the Federation. If they do fire I would take evasive action and attempt to leave the area. If I am in a position to where I am going to take damage, I would tactically fight my way out and utilize the assisting ship(s) to evacuate to if necessary and to carry the recorded incident back to Starfleet in case of catastrophe.

I would record the conversation and send it to Starfleet. I would also hail both the Romulans and Klingons and show them the negotiations that had led the federation to believe the Romulan Empire would be allowing us access to their dilithium resources. If I couldn't get the ships to talk, I would broadcast the conversation the Federation leaders had with the Romulan envoys regarding the dilithium while I high-tailed it out of there. If the Klingon's get wind that the Romulans were double-dealing, they'd probably turn on the Romulans and give my ship a chance to escape.

My mission, as an envoy of the Federation, is to respond to an invitation from the Romulan Ambassator Jomar to discuss details of a treaty allowing us access to their dilithium deposits. Upon arriving, hearing and seeing the situation as it is, feeling somewhat secure in my position, allows me some time to access the situation. I would record all commincations throughout the area.
Wondering what kind of transmission was sent to Starfleet, it could have been a verbal communique without visual? For it states, "....a transmission from Amb. Jonar, 'communicating' that...". Why not state,..telling us? Could be that an imposter sent this message due to the unexplained situation before me. A counter ploy or plot. Maybe the Klingons don't want the Romulans sharing with the Federation? Maybe a coded distress call?
We receive dilithium form Federation planets Coridan & Elas, while the Klingons mine their dilithium from Rura Pente. Believing Starfleet knowing this an extradinary diplomatic request, I would gather as much information as i could and turn about, 1/4 impusle, and once out of range(Neutral Zone) and head back to a nearest base. Not wanting to possibly ruin a good party with a weakening power level, send the comminications at the nearest starbase and leave a link open sending the data to Starfleet threw relay stations on a secure channel. I wouldn't devulge any information of the possible dilithium treaty. iI would hold my possition at this base till I heard form Starfleet Be it defensive, evasive or offensive...Ready at the alert!!! Having engineering monitoring our power levels closely for our refueling schedule was swappped and I would not jeopardise my crew without more clarification on this situationn. If I knew that my power level was full and scheduled for refueling not necesary, I would slowly enter this little group hailing them state my name, ship, affiliation and state we are on a diplomatic peaceful mission and request to speak to the Ambassador....sending all recieved communique to Stafleet...

I would copy all intercept and ships logs give them to my most trusted Jr. Officer along with commutations and a engineer in a warp capable shuttle craft tell them to get the message back to star fleet command. After wait to see what happens with the romulans and klingons. I would wait to the scheduled meeting time then i would launch the shuttle craft tell them to wait until we have the romulans attention before powering up and heading for the nearest space stations. I would play it as we have no know age of there treachery to see how far does it go. To see if they would openly fight or are they just suppling both sides. Ether way you don't know unless you finish the mission. Fight to the death and the shuttle wold get the word out . Or get an uneasy treaty.

Yellow Alert.
Maintain/resume original course and speed. Send a message to Starfleet stating the status of our craft and that there is a cluster of Klingon and Romulan vessels ahead of unknown disposition, knowing full well the Klingons and Romulans will discover our position and nature. Monitor the disposition and layout of the Klingons and Romulans and prepare to hail the group of ships requesting dialogue with whomever is charge as soon as we are within hailing distance.
Prepare to reverse course back to Federation space if trouble starts, informing my chief engineer I might need shields redirected to aft to cover our escape.
If the massed ships make an attempt to flank my vessel, I will consider them hostile and, in the face of superior numbers, order an immediate retreat to Federation territory. If the ships remain still or form a simple barricade, I will continue until I can make dialogue. As long as I am offered a clear route of escape and am not fired upon, I have no qualms about continuing my mission.
If (relatively) peaceful dialogue is opened and the assembled parties have a plausible reason for being there and not firing upon each other, I will inquire as to whether there was any assistance I could render and if not, I'll be on my way.
A full report of the encounter would of course be placed in the ship's log not to mention forwarded to Starfleet.

I would head back to the nearest at maximum warp and try to hold out against the Klingon and Romulan warships until reinforcements arrive from my distress call.

If this scenario is in true star trek fashion, I could about bet that I'm probably the only ship within.....a ridiculous number of sectors. Not knowing what ship I'm flying is kinda tricky, but I would guess that even with warp 9 running is not an option because a starship can only sustain high warp for so long....so here's my possible solution.
Naturally I would be recording and continuing to monitor communications. The scenario didn't specify if these ships were in a solar system or not, but considering that few meetings take place in open space away from any sort of celestial body...I will assume we're in a star system, probably hiding in the gravitational field of some moon or planet or something.
Yellow alert is out of the question, since raising the shields will have the same effect as turning on impulse, too much power signature. No, in this case it's best to stay in "grey mode"....minimal power to essential systems. Also move into a lower orbit to take advantage of the ionization in the planet's ionosphere....if it has an atmosphere.
I would then attempt to modify a probe to be launched deeper in to federation space relatively undetected with a copy of the message that could be safely transmitted back to starfleet when it's several light years away. Certain probes have decent warp capability and they're quite small and less likely to be detected then say....a starship. I would also explore the possibility of maneuvering thrusters only out of the system undetected (unlikely) but we'll assume not. If able then I would launch it and sit and wait...if I'm discovered then I guess I'll try to high warp back home, and if I can't modify the probe in the first place then see if I could move with thrusters only to a safe distance undetected then haul ass back home but if not....wait. I can't get the info back to starfleet if I'm dead.....

I'd just record the conversation go to maximum warp tell my crew to be ready for battle and report to starfleet

First thing I would do is, sit there till the meeting was over and record everything , I wouldnt want to be late for the meeting or else it might tip off the romulan's if indeed they are teaming up with the klingon's, so I would have my science and engeneer crewmen work on a way to mask my live transmission of the sha-nan-a-gen's to look like a natural phenamenon.
then after the Rom.'s and Kling.'s leave I would proceed with mission to foil their plan's.
and if that put me behind schedule ,starfleet would simply cover for me ,lie to them and make up some reason I was late. and then just play dumm and see what their up to , so if we had to we could take them both out.

I would warp 10 straight to the nearest Starfleet base, so that if they followed me they would get shot down immediantly. When I get to the base, I would arrange the message to be sent directly to Starfleet HQ for translation and I would wait for backup, who would follow me to the meeting. The meeting will be transmitted directly to Starfleet while it is playing. When it is over, the group of Starfleet starships and I will destroy as many vessels as possible.

Best course of action is two-fold...
First things first I'd make like a hole in space... Shut down everything but sensors, comm and absolutely necessary systems... Everything else from the marker lights outside the ship to the sonic showers would be shut down to minimize the energy and visual signature of my ship... I wouldn't necessarily shut down the Warp reactor but it would be set to its lowest possible output setting while still maintaining reaction (cause it's a pain to start the reactor back up from a cold start - especially in a hostile area)
I would take note of what was being said between the Romulan and Klingon ship while preparing a warp capable shuttle craft for launch.
As soon as the meeting is concluded and they've gone their separate ways, I would wait a few hours to give them time to have gained some distance. I would make a dump of our logs and sensor data, then wipe our local copies off the computers (just in case we are captured)
We would package the copied information, along with the recorded communication and launch the shuttle craft with instruction to get to the nearest Subspace relay, or friendly ship/starbase/planet and make an emergency priority encoded comm with SFC.
My ship (until otherwise ordered) would then resume normal power operations, and make best speed to our scheduled mission destination.
Of course playing dumb as too what we saw.

I'd play a waiting game. Hopefully the ships will not detect me, once they leave so will I.
I'm a very bad writer, but someone should make a Kobayashi Maru for Klingon's. :D
I agree here, Kill my engines, cut power from all non essential systems (go dark), and record the transmissions. Once they are done prep a long range comm probe with the recording loaded with coordinates for the nearest starbase locked in as a back up. Wait for the gathering to disband and head back to Fed space at max warp. If I am detected and it looks like I am going to get locked into combat, then I would launch the probe with my last know coordinates in case I don't make it.

Assuming (and that is a mistake) standard double dealing protocol is followed... the same Romulan Captain will not be meeting as part of the envoy at Romulus. And also assuming that Romulans are not as paranoid as I would be, that is... if I were a Romulan, after meeting I would intend on leaving a probe behind to monitor for anything out of the ordinary... like a cloaked or undetectable ship...
Patience. Wait for their meeting to end, allow them to depart... remain undetected... record everything. Once they have departed and are out of sensor range, set course for Romulus at maximum warp... this isn't to make up time its to get everything in order for a sting operation.
My away team will beam down to the envoy location for the meet. They will be maintaining constant communication with the ship (that's the sting part, I'd need to provide time for my engineers to devise an undetectable means of transmitting from the surface of Romulus to my ship). The meeting will be recorded. That recording, taken in unison with the earlier meeting (of the Klingons and Romulans) will form the "package". This package shows (empirically if the same Romulan captain is present) that Romulans are double dealing to keep the Federation and the Klingon Empire effectively at war. Klingons would see that type of behavior as dishonorable (they don't like it when a race won't fight its own battles).
Once my ship is loaded with the first shipment of dilithium, and once out of Romulan jamming/reception range and en route to Federation space, the "package" will be sent to Starfleet HQ and the Klingon High Council simultaneously, preferably on an encrypted subspace channel to prevent the Romulans from detecting that I have detected their plot.
All in all:
Olive branch offered to Klingons, Starfleet Intelligence made aware of misdealing, dilithium acquired for Starfleet usage, and best of all... Romulans none the wiser.

Hold current position, monitor/record transmissions. Minimize footprint and usage of all on board systems that could potentially lead to being discovered. When clear, move to a position where an encrypted communique to star fleet can be transmitted and await further orders. Otherwise, proceed as scheduled to rendezvous point under the guise of ignorance.

Backstabbing Romulans....clearly they are betraying the Federation by trying to broker a better deal with the Klingons. Open hailing frequencies and tell the Klingons that the Romulans made the Federation a better offer and are trying to rip them off. Let the Klingons decide who to attack first. When the fighting breaks out eliminate as many Klingon and Romulan ships as possible. Open channels to Starfleet and appraise them of the situation. If needed make a tactical withdrawal due to enemy superiority.

Prepare a transponder bouy set to launch back to Federation space with the information. Once all possible intelligence is gathered hail the Klingons with information that the Romulans may be double dealing. Convince the Klingons that it is in the best interests of the Empire to ally with the Federation. Formulate a treaty proposal, ally with the Klingons, now approach the Romulans with the strength of the combined alliance of the Klingons and Federation as a tool to negoatiate a long term trade and nonagression pact with the Romulan Empire. Be Elected President of the new Tri-Federation Alliance and launch your transponder bouy.
Now lets go defeat the Borg.
Do what any good Captain does, Proceed with the mission, and send an encrypted priority message to StarFleet apprising them of the situation. For all anyone knows the Romulans are triple dealing, or that maybe some kind of peace accord has broken out. After the message is away I would hail bot the Klingon and Romulan vessels and ask them if they need assistance, all from the safety of warp.

I would copy the transmission i intercept then sneak out on a shuttle pod with a makeshift cloaking device (like geordi did with a shuttle in the book dark mirror). I then procceed to commandeer a Klingon bird of prey with my skeleton crew (who speaks, and reads klingon), and escape with said ship to buy my ship some time to get the message back to starfleet. If i survived in the bird of prey, the cloaking device is going on the ship. I then would head to pre arranged rendezvous coordinates for negotiations.

I suspect I would try to go to silent running to avoid being found and conduct my business as usual with the Romulans. I would have to plan for the contingency that it may be a setup to capture my ship, so I would have the Romulan vessel follow under my escort to Federation space, under the guise that we need to take them to a science vessel to see if the dilithium is high grade.

I would record what I could, use something to mask the warpfield as I go to warp, hoping that I am not caught, head to the nearest starbase (probably where I came from), and get as big of a fleet as possible amassed, and return on schedule with a fleet in tow hoping to avoid the obvious trap that was being laid for us. I would additionally transmit the information to some contacts I have on the Klingon homeworld saying that the romulans made the same offer to us, and include our agreement in the transmissions, hoping that the Klingon sense of honor would force them to break off whatever alliance with the romulans. hopefully both fleets would be devastated by the time we return.

I would record everything I could. Then have my communications officer re modulate the deflector array to mask transmission to Star fleet as steller back ground noise. In crypt data for HQ priority one and transmit. If detected jam communications and set course for the nearest star base maximum warp.
