Okay so I was wondering, when our captains are on some planet what happens when they die? Some nasty jumps at them and caches them unaware, and the captain dies a grizzly death? I would quite like it if the First officer got promoted and became captain.

I think the likely hood is that the Captain gets an instant beam out into sickbay, if your in a cave of something where the old VOY transporters couldn't get ya, they probably have improved the transporters.

Then he respawns somewhere else?

Then he/she respawn on the Bridge of the ship, or your first officer gets beamed down to take over while your Captain is in sickbay.

Actually we do.

You (the Captain) and your Bridge Crew cannot die - just incompacitated and respawns.

We also know we are only playing 'the captain', so if we get incapacitated, we do not assume control of a 'first officer' or other Bridge Pet.

We undergo the respawn mechanic (what ever that is for ground content).

try to think more like a game guys. XO probably will not be a bridge crew position.

you die > you are either rezing at your beam in point or on your bridge, with a mission failed tag on you screen.

I'd be more aggrivated with the Failed Mission tag on than dying a million times.

Meh ....

I would think they have increased transport technology so when your vital signs get dangerously critical for your species, you get beamed back aboard your ship to Sickbay. Which might change if you have a Medical officer with you.
