It is as of this time unknown as to when the game will release.
however they have said repeatedly that thay are aiming for late this year.

Late 2009 (Nov or Dec) sounds to be the target date, barring any bumps in the road.

Just wanted to pop in and say that I work at Game Stop and we have a release date of January 26, 2010. Can anyone from Cryptic chime in and say if this is a solid date or is it tentative?

I can answer this as it's been said many times...
At present there is no release date. Your "Game Stop" date is fictitious and designed to get preorders before the game is even out of alpha. Stop teasing your customers."

LOL! Just wanted a confirm on that as Im not sure how the heck GS pulled that date out. Usually we have reps that come by the store often and can confirm dates but that is usually just Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony. I just wanted to know for sure as I have been following ST:O since the beginning and I cant wait for a solid date. Thanks! :)

Now we expect you to march in front of your store with a sign stating how GS is lying about the release date and how the general public is tired of companies like Game Stop, AIG, and Bernie Maddof being such... LIARS!

For virtually any game -- not just STO -- vendors (Gamestop, Amazon.com, etc) just put in 'Filler' dates -- which are just guesses so they have a date other than TBA. The only time I would put some credence into a vendor date, is when it is about maybe 1 month or 2 away. Any longer and it is probably a guess on their part.

Haha, you have no idea how much Id love to do that. Though I need the job so I guess I just have to let it go. XD Its been a while since I have been to these forums and when I saw a release date in our computer I got so excited and I came hopping over here to confirm. DARN YOU GAMESTOP FOR THE LIIIIIIIES! *Shakes fist in air* Oh well c'est la vie, cant wait for the game! :D

If it makes you feel any better, the game is being scheduled for release sooner. (Zinc says they're still on for a 2009 release)
