I see a Klingon, a Gorn, a Romulan?(the disruptor?), no idea the robot thing. Is that flower from an episode? The only thing that comes to mind is that old NES game.

It's Nomad (the Robot guy), Gorn (yes), Klingon (yes) and a Flower thing that killed a Redshirt on a TOS episode by shooting poison yellow dart things into him. And the gun is... just a gun!

Lucky you've I've seen some great comics that consisted of basic geometrical shapes and/or lines only. Can you draw a circle? (I ain't lying, art has little to do with great comics)

I'm absolutely hopeless at making my own pictures, no, i can't draw a circle, i can barely do it with the circle tool in paint, even that comes up slightly oval.

I can modify pics in photoshop with ease like taking a screencap and doing all sorts of things to it to make it look lika a cartoon or hand drawn or giving people alien features (i turned keanu reeves into a vulcan once, complete with slight tinge and pointy ears :p ) but it says you gotta draw them yourself, unfortunately that just isn't my area of expertise.

Photoshop. Illustrator is superior for this style though (tons of shapes and gradients) but sadly I do not own it.

Like many things in like, some people have a talent for such things, but they might lack a talent that you have. It is what makes us diverse and interesting sometimes. :)

I think that there is something there in the style (like some of cartoon network's programs), but still needs some polish. Definitely keep it up. :)

Also, I have little to no artistic talent, so my comments are more as an observer.

i sopose it is rather blurry but i did that to hid the paint lines, and then i renderd it, the ships are just my 3d moddles i made, also renderd using paint, but as you saw from my secend comic i cant draw people but i will be happy to use these southpark people, cant use them in the real contest but this is more for fun than anything

If the image is something that you made "from scratch", then you can use it. It simply cannot be pictures that someone has taken(cut/paste/cropped/etc) from ANY other source(be it official or someone else's artwork).

How come there is only one prize? I've spent all day working on a comic. I'm not very good at drawing but it's coming together. I just assumed they'd award the top 10 or whatever with beta keys, but now I see it's just one key for one winner. This huge contest for one single beta key is just cruel. I'll still post my entry here when I'm finished. I'm almost done. Drawing is freaking hard.

I wish there could be more than one winner to this contest though! I wish they'd award the top 20 with beta keys, and the first prize would of course get the bonus of having their comic featured on the site. Makes me laugh knowing that after all those hours spent on my comic, I will always be one of those people waiting in the lineup that I drew in my comic lol.

Before they edited it with all the detailed rules and stuff that's what it sounded like was going to happen. But then they added all the legal mumbo-jumbo and clarified.

Well an idea finally came to me yesterday, did the pencil work then and I'm working on computerizing it today. Even found a way round my inability to draw faces and hands.

Was going to ask what the exact time was when the competition close, but it seems they added a whole load of legal jargon including the closing time.

When I've done it and submitted it, I'll let you lot peruse it.

No that just means there thinking of rabbits, and every one knows rabbits are tasty.

Any way my submission is done, a little on the large side, but I have a large monitor so it's made to fit rather then to view.

Using two monitors and it's still too big for the combined screens. It seemed smaller when I was working on it.

each of my pannels were 800x600 and i thought that was big cuse the final thing ends up around 2500x700

remember these are the same people making STO, all the info you see is about as concrete as 20 comics to vote on :p

If I find it I'll have to get someone one to post it for me. They have blocked me from posting my stuff off my personal web site.
