Personal ships from different time era's

I was thinking about how in every series there was some sort of time travel. I then wondered how hard would it be to say bring back a ship from that era, TOS and/or Enterprize or any previous era for that matter. I figured that reguardless of what era is your favourate it would be interesting to fly around in a ship designed from that time.

Now I know such ships would be greatly outclassed in any pvp setting. However, maybe as a part of the crafting process one could re-fit one of these older ships with more up to date equiptment. It would be a big surprize to someone if they, for example, saw a TOS era class ship and thinking it an easy target moved in to kill it. However, the owner of said ship could of just re-fitted it with new phazers and modern photon torps.

Reguardless of how it works out I think it would be something fun for a person to do, if they so wanted to, to somehow be allowed to obtain a ship from a series era of their choice, once they completed the necessary quest or questline to achieve this. One thing that should be limited is that one can only get ships of their faction.

You might be able to fly around in one of them in a special mission instance where you go back in time or go to the mirror universe, but I highly doubt you'd be able to bring anything back with you.

Personally, I don't think I'd care for that anyways.

Maybe we could be able to commision a 'museum' ship to fly around in? I'd quite enjoy this as I like the 'raw' feel of a ship with no sheilds and the like, much like the Federation ships from the Enterpise Era.

Dont count the old birds out just yet. Prop planes were used clean into the 60s.

Some WWII firearms are still being used by military folk.

Id take the faster firing weaker phase cannons, over the slower modern rail phasers under certain conditions.

I think there was mention of Holodack flights from the devs?-- could of been when Perpetual had it.. not sure... I could definitly see that sort of thing happenning there....

But then again... a mission/quest could easily be feesible... I would look forward to that!

They can always have that as a feature on the Holodecks..... Cryptic you listening? That is an idea for a Holodeck scenario. Play an old Kirk/Picard episode.

Awesome idea.

If you find a floating derelic you could tow it home and put it up on blocks in your front yard. You work on it on the weekends and once your finished, cruise the alpha quadrant trying to pick up chicks.

The only ships from different Era's I could see being in this game would be the Constellation, Centaur, Ambassador, Constitution Refit, Miranda Refit, and the Excelsior Refit. Maybe a Medical vessel (dont know what they are called) with the huge sphere would be in the game as a heavy support vessel/engineering/science vessel, even though most of these vessels are not seen in the game so far, except the hull of the Miranada which most likey has been modified or redesigned for this era. Heck if they went ahead and redesigned new vessels off the old designs like Klingons love too do, they would be saving alot of man power:D

Can't remember what episode it was - but what about where the ENTERPRISE D found the ENTERPRISE C after it had been "Lost" in a time warp or something.

So legaly - by their own admission from the "Canon Nazi's" it IS possible for something like that to happen. Hey, they blew up Romulas & Remus - who would have thought that would ever happen! ;)

Anyway, though it never was on any of the shows or movies I would mind bringing back a Romulan "WINGED DEFENDER" Class Cruiser to play with.

Did'nt Cryptic say something about salvaging thing's from derelic's or space wreckage , we might have some older class Starship's in game after all and if not I would at least like to see old mission's from TV sereis on the holo-deck like someone already mentioned.
either way Im hoping to see something like this, even if it's just a tour on board the old ship's would be great.
I plan on custamizing my ship to atleast favor the old style as much as possible.:cool:
