Any difference. Satellites were mentioned as being included in STO and there will be interiors attached to them as well.
But what exactly is a satellite in STO? I know Sputnik was a satellite, but that was very small. Is a satellite just a space station, or smaller?

Isn't a satellite any orbiting object? Just depends on whether it is natural or man made.

Well in truth anything orbiting something elseis a satilite. ie. the moon is an earth satilite.
perhapse they ment mining stations and such on asteroids and what not.

A satellite, by its definition, orbits a larger body in space. The moon, for example, is a natural satellite of earth. The same could be said of the earth in relation to the sun. A man-made satellite is essentially a space station that orbits something, though artificial satellites can also be unmanned and much smaller (weather/telescope satellites, etc.)
A space station can theoretically be hovering anywhere in a system or deep space, but a satellite must be orbiting something.
