A Bartender/ cook (examples being Quark, Neelix, and Gaea) that can be recruited like the bridge crew

Well since there are no ship interiors, a chef would just be some letters on some HUD like all the officers - sort of like Football Manager

Unknown. Where we've gotten some information about our bridge crews and being able to skill them up and select them, not much has been stated at all about the remaining crew. Perhaps there will be a balance to strike with say how many engineers, medics, etc. you have onboard and perhaps having something like cooks, bartenders, etc. making up a percentage of your crew would affect some sort of ship morale stat.

But, that last is pure speculation. It doesn't appear though that cooks, bartenders, etc. will get the same attention to detail and interactivity that your bridge officers will get.

I don't get your point. So all your NPC crew members will be text? They may come up with content that allows for a NPC crew member to be a cook and come on away missions with you. The ship interior aspect is irrelevant at this point.

The non NPC bridge crew part of the crew very well may have a morale aspect: cooks, recreation, teaching, etc. depending on how exploratory or diplomatic the vessel is. Why knows though, this kind of game play may not even be important. I doubt there will be much content around this, but morale is quite important in war time.

He's a troll. Plain and simple. Im not sure if I have even seen him make one post that involves anything other than making fun of STO or criticizing forum members.

Officers on the ship are text - not on away missions

I somehow doubt chefs are included on the away teams lmao

I think it might be interesting to have civilians fill some bridge crew positions. I don't know what benefits they might bring though.

I think it can add to some of the more "open" places we are likely to find ingame, like stations and/or planets where one can socialise with others! :)
