The Star Date is unimportant. The descision is.

The USS Constellation made contact with the kytorian's more then 20 years ago. The kytors live on a Menchara class planet. Lush green mountains, clear white oceans, and a sky which resembles hazel. The kytors average between 4'5" and 7'10". Due to the high gravity which is 7 times earth gravity the kytors weight in excess of 1 ton. This gives them the strength to lift more then 3 tons on earth gravity. The kytors have an amazing ability of telekinesis but with very limited application. The kytors can use there ability to make them selves fly but this requires a great deal of consentration. There diet is very similar to our own with the exception of the water intake. There planet contains a rare mineral which they need to stay hydrated. This mineral containes a pigment which appears white under normal solar rays but black under stellar light. The kytors have technology similar to earth technology at around Star Date 2200. There warp drives max out at about 3.5. There planet is hidden in an astroid range with there sun half the distance as the earths sun to our planet. The cooling of the planet is actualy due to the fact that since the gravity is much stronger the planet has a natural tendency to pull astroids in the the gravitational orbit and spin them around the planet several times faster then the moon around earth. This in turn keep the suns rays and tempature down considerable. After initial contact, kytorians requested to be inducted into the Federation of planets. There induction took less then 3 standard years due in part to scientific exchange and the interest of both parties.

The kytors have come to earth to petiton for enrollment in to Star Fleet Academy. Many think this is a bad idea. This race has many advantages to others and would out shine most races in any physical training. Along with there unique gift to fly this would mean a change to policys aboard Star Fleet ships.

What do you think?
Should they be allowed into Star Fleet Academy?
Should Star Fleet make changes to course material?
Should there be any changes to Star Fleet's operating procedure aboard ship?

You decide.

More scenerios will follow.

What do you think?

Should they be allowed into Star Fleet Academy?
The UFP is based on diversity, by which standard would be morally wrong to deny them the chance.

Should Star Fleet make changes to course material?
Course material should have additions/alterations where necessary. The Prime Directive is to expand our knowledge and seek out knowledge and learn from other races.
Should there be any changes to Star Fleet's operating procedure aboard ship?
While great freedoms are given to members of starfleet, all enlisted personal are required to follow starfleet rules and regulations.

You decide.

So why let Vulcans in starfleet? or Klingons, or the Brikar? All are stronger than normal humans.

RevyUK summed it up pretty well. I agree with all of his points. I personally would watch my step around these powerful creatures, though, as I wouldn't want to accidently provoke one of bad temperment.

Isn't 4'5" and 7'10" a pretty large scale for the "Average" height? I think it would be more appropriate to say "As a race, the Kytor may range from 4'5" to 7'10" tall." "Average" indicates that they can be both taller and shorter than the range listed. I admit, though, it would be interesting to see a 2 foot creature that weighs almost a ton and can lift 3. :D

Otherwise, thats a pretty interesting race you seem to have invented. Powerful, maybe a little to powerful, and intimidating, but interesting.

Thank you for that correction. I appreciate the feedback. In this strange scenario I was trying to see if anyone could make the connection that poster Jag-Fell made. It should not matter what they can or can't do as long as they bring something into the federation that will benefit everyone. We must be willing to adapt to all the differences everyone brings to the table. I appreciate the fact the people were respectful and did not flame this thread. It was made to help me see the type of community there is. Thank you again for your time.

I love the creativity but what does this have to do with Star Trek Online?

This is Star Trek related by the story and questions. I miss filed the thread but since I could not move it, I just continued and watched the replys and evaluated the community attitude. Im curious to see what people are like on here and what type of players will be in the game.

In general, I find that the community that has gathered around not only Star Trek Online, but Star Trek in general seems to be a fairly good natured and mature crowd. I have many ideas as to why this may be, and many are probably wrong, but the series itself just seems to be written to be that way.

There is no doubt we will eventually get players like "Captain L33tard" or some such nonsense, who will be here for no other reason than to grief other players. It is almost inevitable, but I think this community will overcome the small amount of players like that.

What do I win? :)

I do hope the Brikar are in the game. I have allways wanted to kill a few of them.
