Contest?

The contest page says that there will be 1 per month, having just recently started trolling here I was wondering if they just keep the same contest and change the dates listed for submissions and judging?

No. The contests change. However, the last contest sparked a lot of hostility among some people since the winner that was chosen failed to follow all of the rules listed for contest entries. Some people thought the way the contest was handled called into question the contests' integrity, some of these people took it personally and openly insulted Cryptic, others criticized the criticizers and it just became an ugly mess. Given the hostility against Cryptic, and between some of the members themselves, it was stated that future contests might simply be random lotteries in which random people will be selected from the list of registered members to win a Beta key.

To my knowledge (though I've not been here as regularly as usual) I don't think it has been finalized that there will be no more contests. The decision on how to carry about future contests might still up in the air, I'm not sure.

AAAAHHH! what a mess. Too bad some folks get that worked up about somthing thats soposed to be fun:(

I never got involved in all that mess. I stayed away thinking it was for the best.

It had occurred to me that there may be no more contests after all the ruckus the last one stirred up. I wouldnt blame Cryptic in the slightest. Its just not worth it.

It is explicitly stated that future contests will be random lotteries. I guess that might be subject to change if the idea of further contests was appealed to Cryptic by a relatively large number of people without hostility. But as it states, I guess the last word on the matter is that there will not be more contests. Though I've also noticed that there hasn't been an Ask Cryptic in a while either (not to imply that the two are related), so perhaps updates involving the community are in a slowdown period all together.
