The East coast people got to meet us, now we’re spreading the love to the West. If you happen to be attending WonderCon, or even if you aren’t, take the time to stop by and visit the developers of both Champions Online and Star Trek Online.

Come to Jillian’s in the Metreon ( 101 Fourth Street, Suite 170 San Francisco, CA 94103) Saturday, February 28, 2009 between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. for chat about all things Cryptic. We will have developers from both games, including Craig Zinkievich, Executive Producer of Star Trek Online and Randy Mosiondz, Lead Designer of Champions Online. If that weren’t enough, your community team will be on hand to greet and treat you!

Will you be there? Let me know!

Hmm, I'll see if I can make it... it's a little bit of a drive and a BART ride, but it sounds like it might be fun!

I really wish I was able to make it to this event, but I will not be able to simply because of the location. I really hope that the developers at Cryptic Studios continue to have a presence at a lot of conventions though, because sooner or later I think I'm bound to be at one of them! I hope that everyone that is able to make it has a great time and will share any information that they learn here on the forums!

Normally I'd be there with bells on as it's an easy drive, but I leave for New Mexico the day before.

...wasn't meant to be, but if there are any other events in the S.F. Bay Area in the future, you can bet I'll attend.

Yeah, I'll be there. Proabably for at least two of the days and will definately stop at the booth. I am new to the Star Trek Online community, but have been a fan for years and I still collect and play the card game. I will definately share any info I learn.

Wish I'd gone to the New York one when I had the chance, I guess it will be more exciting to go to these things when STO gets further down the pipeline anyways. I do wish I could get some more free STO stuff though, the website should open an online store :)

Will Cryptic be anywhere in the Midwest this year? Oklahoma never gets any love... and we've got one of the longest running annual Star Trek conventions in the midwest... This year is the 20th anniversary of the Tulsa Trek Expo, you guys should try and set up a booth... trekexpo.net

For you beer drinkers, do yourself a favor and try this locally brewed beer (from the tap) Trumer Pils - http://www.trumer-international.com/trumer.php Fell in love with it last time I was in Frisco for a project.

Deactivate the rototiller first. You will most likely want to shear the lines to the power source before anyone notices you within a parsect of that briefcase.

Maybe if I whistle innocently, face away from the briefcase, and slowly back towards it one exaggerated step at time.

It could work.

Of course there wasn't much in the way of brand new info.

The very first question in the Q and A was when STO beta was going to start. :)

The reply was something to the effect of sooner than you might think, but clearly you can't quote me on that. It was sort of loud and hard to hear all the answers.

I asked about how to resolve ship names and demand. I referred to the system in CoH for inactive low level characters. Reply was, can't really go there, but they have a solution in place for CO, and will be using the same system in STO. He seemed confident in his reply, but was careful of the wording, and didn't elaborate.

Please do not make any assumptions on what I post here. I am offering my take on what I heard.

It was definitely a good time :) And I can't wait to see more of your pictures! I'll get some up in a gallery as soon as I have them all processed and the ones with me in them shredded etc. :)

Please feel free to talk here about your impressions, what you learned, what you wanted to hear more about etc.
