I would imagine the beautification of the login screen is one of the last things the artists do.
I'm sure they have one, but it probably looks like a login page that would be on craigslist.org.

I'm sure they have one, but it probably looks like a login page that would be on craigslist.org.Indeed; I'd guess that the tools they use to log in are quite different from the ones that will be in the commercial product. Anyhow, from my experiences in various betas, the log-in window changes a lot during development.

i think they will do that twards release they are probably more concerned about the more important aspects of this game
still make it similar to the LCARS layout of starfleet ships

This usually tends to be one of the last things they will do before release. This is not always true, but has been from my experience.

I sure wouldnt mind new screenshots. I know we just got some but Im always looking forward to new ones. I even had a dream about STO!!!

Haha, this was a thread over in Champions Online and the devs posted a black square and said something like "well here you are, a picture of the top left corner of the login screen."

Would be interesting to see a "Transporter Room" theme for the character selection, with a 'beam out" effect complete w/ 'energize' when you long into the game.
As far as the launcher, does Cryptic use a small window like WAR, or a full page like WoW?

Love that Idea! YOu could have the character selection screen like that as well. As soon as you login and pick your character, that character gets onto the Transporter PAd and beams onto your ship!
What the log-in screen has to have imho is the LCARS Style!
