Twitter is another cool way to give the community some extra informationen but i don't know if the wait gets shorter or seems to get longer ^^

Pretty much, up uptil I deleted the Twitter links, Awen's was the most active with Kestrel's being the second most active. Though I'm surprised some of the Dev's Twitter's aren't listed.

And yes, that is quite an interesting bug. Guess ramming is in too. :p

There's nothing wrong with quoting lyrics, so long as the songs are good. I would say that though as I occassionally use them in my signatures (U2's latest earlier).

I'm sure we'll see Ask Cryptic fairly soon. Unfortunately, anything that comes out of the press is entirely at the mercy of that entity's publishing schedule and, as always, runs the risk of getting quashed.

Which I dearly hope doesn't happen. :D

Twitter is a popular social networking tool which allows people to broadcast their thoughts in 140 character "Tweets". All the names at the top of this thread are the STO devs who are on Twitter, and so you can choose to follow them once you create an account on the site. I'm not sure how it works, but I believe that Twitter itself won't point out specific replies to you unless you're following the person who @replied you. But almost every client you could possibly use WILL point them out to you, regardless of whether you're following someone or not. It's how I found a number of the people that I now follow.

Okay, so I just checked out the Twitter website. I barely ever use it so I didn't notice that there's an @reply tab now. That @reply tab will show you everyone who writes @Loekii, for example, regardless of whether they're following you or you're following them.

I've been following Zinc, Awen, and Kestrel.

I've also been following Brent Spiner (madly goofy); LeVar Burton (what a genuinely kind and well-adjusted human being he seems to be); Leonard Nimoy (who doesn't seem to Tweet much); George Takei (who is a little less silent than Leonard); and George's "nemesis", William Shatner.

Shatner is Shatner ... his Tweets (via his daughter, I suspect) are all very tied to marketing and promotion, but I can deal. To me, Bill's like that eccentric uncle who doesn't realize what an idiot he can be at times. You let it slide because you like his good points.

I _was_ following Wil Wheaton, but the guy Tweets constantly, and he was flooding out all the Tweets from other people that I wanted to read!

I am following the devs posted in CO, are they for the most part going to be the same people?

I know Alivet is a rather active tweeter, so she seems to keep me up to date. The rest from CO don't post all that much.

I dun use those social networking sites cuz they require too much personal info, and I'm not one to lie :p

BUT, I do use social networking that doesn't ;)

Vent, TS, Forums and the like.

I've joined the IRC channel once so far, and will again, I'm sure :)
Though, I much prefer voice chat ;)

I wonder if during beta they'd be willing to institute that..?

Err I don't think they showed them beaming from their ship but I'm pretty sure it showed them being beamed by the Enterprise.

I know Mara and Kirk were beamed to Engineering in Day of the Dove.

As for why Twitter: On Twitter my guys can roughly follow what I am working on. If I am about to work on a piece of content for example, or if I am browsing the forums. As such, a news post: "WishStone is reading the STO forums!" would be a bit moot.

No one is forced to use it, mind. It's just a little something extra. :)

Cryptic_Stormy, can be found if you look by putting the second word as lower case, then it comes up the correct way. Search on Cryptic_stormy, for example.

The German and French Tweets won't help me, but it might be a case sensitive search issue too.

Is there any Cryptic twittering in SPANISH? I could use the practice. (private msg is ok)

Ah, maybe they just don't like Klingons, one is following me, but maybe it is just because Ferengis are known for their hospitality, starduster cocktails and entertaining holosuites. Even Cryptics have to relax some time. Or it could be the unique idea of a female Ferengi Star Fleet Captain gets their attention, not a lot of females in the fleets.;)

Well, "Thank you and your family for your service." I was 1.2 hours away from Las Vegas by air and could get cheap (less than 150 round trip tickets) but couldn't get time away from my work! While the Cryptics played, I was working. It was all online work but I knew if I went I wouldn't work there regardless of my good intentions."

I don't mind if they don't follow me, like you I get to see they are having fun, being frustrated, it makes it interesting to see what they are doing and tweeting about.

I also think Facebook would be more valuable than Twitter especially when you take into consideration that most people on Facebook (that like to play games) have hundreds and/or thousands of friends (who also like to play games) they can advertise/hype to.

I have to go with Kurok on this one. While Twitter is an alright way to follow, Facebook has a much broader advertisement/hype potential. With people having, in some cases, thousands of friends, updates and hype spreading could be invaluable to STO.

Twitter is like one of those people who talks to you who you don't really know (maybe you served them at the checkout etc) and they proceed to talk endlessly with a one-sided conversation about any old *****.

All the thoughts and feelings of a mind updated constantly in 140 chars or less. Like someone with a prostate problem they can't go for half an hour without going on it. I've tried it but the pointless views and worthless information puts Barrens chat to shame. I hate it so much.

I'd appreciate an "Official" voice to put status updates like Server Down Server UP or Patch Notes Posted on twitter with the #STO tag. At least that system is up evne when your servers here are down, and its quick and easy to find a tweet from your "official" source if you had one and had it tagged (easier than wading thru the complaints on the forums). Blizz does this.

I'd follow your devs, but they never tweet anything that's useful, and its pretty rare you guys tweet at all.

Good luck - and please COMMUNICATE better with us, using more channels and give us more details. Transparency (especially about "fixes" that are slipped into the patches that change game play and invalidate our talent builds) and quickness of response will slow a lot of the anger you guys are seeing here, and the damage you are doing to your rep - you;re getting the rep of a company that doesn't communicate or care about its player base.

And rolling out the door now.

I bought the pre-order Digital Deluxe version, but have no access to TOS uniforms or any of the other incentives.

Plus, I am 'not allowed to access the sever at this time'.

£130 spent on a game I can't bloody play.
