Hi Sam! Thanks for coming on the Internet for us all to scrutinize!

Don't worry, we're nice about it. Errr... usually.

Joluan Tru,
The robots must be made on Remus by the Remen.
Trust no one and always carry a disruptor (phaser, laser, holy hand grenade, your choice).

Nice to meet ya, Sam Rucks!

Y'know, given your respect for James T., and the revelation that "your hair is your canvas", so to speak, I'm thinking you should just shave your sideburns into the Kirk-era points and embrace your destiny, man. The haircut you've got in the photo looks vaguely classic Trek anyway. Be the Kirk in you, Sam! (and post a photo here for us).

More seriously, many good bits there in your bio, sir. Of course this line is the quotation of choice:

We're working around the clock to make sure this game is truly a unique experience, instead of some lame grindfest we've all seen a thousand times

While all adventure games must have some grinder-y, by virtue of what they are, the fact that you and the rest of the STO team recognize that grindfest = bad, and are consciously working to move _away_ from that simplistic scenario makes me even more hopeful for the fate of Star Trek Online.

Cheers,

KOS

I had a buddy that did a similar thing with his hair. He even tried all the colors at the same time. Looked very rodman-ish. :D

I hope you guys have some interesting ideas for the environments and interiors. Though I hope they won't only be interiors we're used to, but also interiors that have their own style and feel 25th century. Nice choice on the alien species too. Shape shifting opens up so many possibilities.

Nice to meet you! It is nice to meet the team and to know who I should tank for this wonderful game called "Star Trek: Online".

It is great to meet another member of the development team! I have to say that the environments that we have seen so far have all completely impressed me, so it was nice to be able to get a glimpse of one of the people responsible for them. I am glad that this article was posted, and I look forward to future "Meet the Team" installments!

We're working around the clock to make sure this game is truly a unique experience, instead of some lame grindfest we've all seen a thousand times.

This comment increases my happiness.

I've heard it before from folks working on other games, so I've learned to take it with a shaker of salt. We'll have to see how this game actually turns out.

But hey, it's certainly better than hearing, "We're making lots of simple repeatable content!" :)

As I've said elsewhere (http://forums.startrekonline.com/showpost.php?p=341719), I'm loving the backgrounds -- thanks for the great work, Sam!

Nice to meet you Sam.
i must admit i'm really excited by your story.
I'm a Games Development Student and 1 day i want to get into the Games industry after uni. I'm also an artist on deviantART.com
when i look at job i see that they require some experience in the industry already, but hearing that you got in right after college gives me hopes i can do that after university.

also... pink hair? lol sounds interesting

If you could choose to be an alien on Star Trek, which species would you want to be?

Species #8472, of course! Shape-shifting abilities, telepathy, living in fluidic space, and great at stand-up comedy. How cool is that?

well hes awesome now :D
