ship question

hey im new here so soz if this is posted in wrong pace / posted before :D ..

How (if at all) customisable will the ships be - for instance in a previous star trek game (Warp 2 etc) you could build a custom star ship and take it on missions.

Is there going to be ways in which to personalise ships?

Like wise, are you going to be able to upgrade areas of the ship, such as weapons / shields / engines?

Welcome to our humble forums...

to answer your questions,ships will be customizable...however,we don't know exactly how in-depth the customization will be. From what we've scene though,there will be a great deal of modifications to your ship.

Starships will be of different levels.
A Tier 1 starship can be upgraded,but will be weaker than an un-modified ship of Tier 2

Incorrect bro, a fully ungraded Tier 1 ship will rival a mid-level Tier 2 ship, but won't contend with a un-modified Tier 3 ship or indeed a fully upgraded Tier 2 ship.

I could have sworn it was stated a while back in the Ask Cryptic that a Tier 1 ship would never out-stat a Tier 2 ship...

You’ll start with a Tier 1 ship and you can certainly upgrade it and trick it out so that it’s comparable to a mid-level Tier 2 ship. However, a top of the line Tier 2 ship is going to be much better than even the most tricked out Tier 1

Well I'm glad to know the truth is out there :)
and beside,in this case,I like being wrong
because I like the idea of a Tier 1 ship being able to hold its own against a Tier 2 ship

Indeed, as do I. Only seems logical that ships capabilities should "overlap" to some extent. Just because its an older vessel or belongs in a lower weight class doesn't necessarily mean it can't be competitive.
