Event Idea's, what would you want as a event??

i was thinking maybe we could have a Event where the borg is heading to earth at warp 9.95 like in Best of Both worlds

Starfleet would have to put together a Fleet some where while we wait or you could head where ever the cube is coming from to try and stop it your self.....
maybe put a timer ingame and on STO website to let us know when this Super borg cube would enter Federation Space ...to give people fear of this super cube (like it was in Wolf 359 with picard) it would make a great event

I would love to see something more original, but amit I am not in a creative mood at the moment :) Would be sort of sick if they copied something from Doctor Who (where multiple Doctors met and work together)....perhaps a rare and/or random event where the Enterprise NX-01, NCC-1701, and perhaps the NCC-1701-X (where X is any letter from B on) must work together to solve a problem.....or maybe mix it up with the Enterprise (take your pick) Defiant (not the Constitution Class one lost in the Mirror Universe of course) and Voyager [same senario]....corny I know :)

Borg Incursions, appearances of giant space "thingies" like the Crystal thing from TNG and the planet-devouring ice cream cone from TOS. Maybe free-for all events where for a period of time war breaks out and the entire game is PvP (only for a matter of days though).

Events. You know - server-wide EVENTS.

The events I would like to see require there to be a new Star Trek television series from CBS that shares it's open ended story-lines with Star Trek Online and require the subscribing members of Star Trek Online to determine the outcome.

Ideally it would be nice to have the series and MMO launch at the same time.

The Academy Games Live event In a series first season episodes you are introduced to many many cadets going through Academy (this does not assume the show would be Academy centric).

Towards the end of the first season, all the cadets will have to split into teams and vote who they want as a 'team captains'. Subscribers and viewers of the show can vote too.

At the end of the first season, the teams are picked and they begin playing the 'Academy Games'. ACTUAL ships in the MMO will be the ships of the team leaders.

Subscribers are encouraged to follow the team leader they like and go join one of the ships.

Each night during the off season, and all weekends long, the ships will embark on missions covering all aspects of Starfleet training including surprise combat against one or more of the other team ships.

How well ships perform, stay repaired, supplied, up kept, etc will require the efforts of individual subscribers.

Subscribers not wishing to play 'on board' could provide support(or harassment) to any ships they like.

Viewers of the show not wanting a subscription could join in the event free as a civilian and even get a civilian craft to bring into the action.

Over several weeks the studio,writers, etc look over the statistical data and determine how to present that in the following season. Data will not be forged and the data will be fictionalized properly.

Season two: Trial by fire.

The outcomes are fictionalized, the cadets graduate and now depart for their first missions on new ships. Subscribers are encouraged to continue following the crews they like and serve on those ships.

Throughout the series the stores will go back and forth across the UFP following the adventures of all the different ships and when they are featured, they have a live event associated with it.

The GALACTIC GAMES:

In the spirit of the OLYMPICS. The Galactic Games.

Any citizen or crew from any empire may compete in events. ( A world wide STO tournament focusing on the best of exploration, science, engineering, combat, etc, etc)

Winners are flown to someplace (PARIS? eh, Atari? or San Francisco, etc) to compete in the finals. Fame, fortune, etc.

A week on Babel featuring real celebrity guests, events, speakers, booths, etc. Free to subscribers...reduced convention prices to join in online.

UFP Voting events: Politics is great and new shows love including politics. Let subscribers vote on issues important to their empires. Let subscribers plot the course of galactic politics and let the writers and show be directed by that.

Tribble Infestation! The only thing that can bring the Klingon Empire and the United Federation of Planets together, united against a common enemy.....I mean pest!

I think it would be cool (probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense and probably only I would like) if the Herogen (sp?) found their way to the alpha quandrant, were way more advanced after combining their forces under a common goal. It would be really cool if the server had like weekly events that people started showing up to, then one week after fighting off the borg or something, we all see something moving at the nearby planet, we goto investigate but when we get there it's gone. Then we all get a distress call from a moon near the star of the system and we all respond together, since we're still ina group from fighting the borg. When we arrive no one is there except for a transmission beacon, suddenly we realize the radiation from the star has brought down our ship to ship communication and our long range sensors. Then a dozen or so herogen ships show up and begin decimating all there. The ones who flee and make it out alive get to report back to normal space with the message the herogen are coming. After that it would be cool if the herogen were like a mob sort of, but with farrrrrrrrrr more advanced AI. Such that they would stalk you through systems until you are alone before they fought you.

I'm just a huge fan of the herogen lol.

Aye the "crystaline entity"...I am still ****ed at that ***** for killing it. It was clearly offering those that it absorbed a better life no? I was never "geeky" enough to look it up, but I always imagined that it was not destroying anything.

Oh - and there MUST be events where all factions can team up against a common foe. The Borg is one such enemy, but there could be others as well.
