For those who cannot attend the New York Comic Con....
As I said above, Hailing Frequency will be there providing FULL video and audio coverage of anything relating to Star Trek Online from the convention.
On February 7th, the day of the convention, we will be doing a live podcast via our website from the floor of the comic con and we will hopefully be conducting a video interview with Craig Zinkeivich (still waiting to hear back on this) which will be released the following day via our website. We will also take photos or videos of any other Star Trek Online Videos, Screenshots and Concept Art that is available.
So anyone that cant attend, well, we will be doing our best to make sure you FEEL like you're there. :)

@ Storment - Your Fleet Admiral will be representing Hailing Frequency - he is also our Technical Director and a Co-Host on Hailing Frequency, so chances are you've already met him, but still, it will be fun!!

brainstorming:
Can we do something fun on Hailing Frequency LIVE that weekend like we did in Vegas, starting Friday night and ending on Sunday?
A LIVE marathon or something where we can be posting everything as it comes in or monitoring Skype for call-ins from the convention or nearby?
--an aside: These are some of the things we rolled out from the moment we arrived. Usually everything captured in a day was online by that evening. Almost all of it can still be seen at: www.youtube.com/hailingfrequency
- Lotus Fleet's, Admiral Nova was the HD Camera operator for our interview with Mr. Emmert.
- Lotus Fleet's Athos and Random Redshirt were the ones who delivered: Mike Okuda, Chase Masterson, Richard Herd, Barry Jenner, Anthony Vitale.
I had the absolute best time meeting them and working with them that week. Three brothers I never knew I had. We spent most of our time with Star Trek game & Star Trek Comic Book writer: Derek Chester (Bridge Commander, Legacy, Tactical Assault) Four brothers! Amazing time.
- I brought you: the audio & video Road reports, Anthony Montgomery singing "What You Know About Trek!?" from the exclusive Roddenberry 'Revolution' party, The small camera video and interview with Jack Emmert, the video interview with Razor, the audio interview with Richard Jeffries (Matt Jeffries brother talking about the new amazing book about his brother and family(See:Amazon), Videos of the Experience and some of the cast (K'Stran), Vids of some Hailing Frequency fans, etc.
---
So anyway...I'm not going to be able to be there this go-round. But I can be at HQ doing the marathon waiting to receive any info anyone wants to get out...
Maybe we can do a contest for some of the swag?
ideas/comments???

If I would have known that Cryptic Studios was going to be at the event sooner I definitely would have made every effort to attend the convention, but unfortunately I do not think that I will be able to. I am very thankful that the great people who are responsible for Hailing Frequency will be at the event, because I definitely do not want to miss out on any information about Star Trek Online! I cannot wait for this convention -- and the new information about the game that will come from it -- now!

We will bring the best coverage that we possibly can.
Update: We have successfully obtained press credentials from the NYCC Organizers, which is going to give us access to the press room, so we should hopefully have a nice quiet area in which to conduct an interview with the STO Folks.

I will be at Comic Con... for STO.
Its a short trip for me... might stay at my families in Brooklyn... * Born & Raised in BK
ADVISE TO EVERYONE:
Do not bring a car into manhattan. NYC is the worst place for traffic in the city. Saturdays and Sundays... does have traffic... sometimes heavy.
I advise you to park in Williamsburg Brooklyn or Greenpoint Brooklyn.
*IF YOU PARK IN BAY RIDGE: it will take you hours to find a spot... Im not joking... Min 1 - 2 hrs
*IF YOU PARK IN QUEENS: Make sure Its not a expensive car and that you have insurance
*IF YOU PARK IN THE BRONX: DO NOT PARK IN THE BRONX. Im not joking.
The best streets are:
Greenpoint: Newel, Diamond, Jewel, Eckerd, Russel, Humbolt sts
Williamsburg: N12th Street to N6th Street / Bedford Ave. The closer to Bedford Ave The better
Why these places... because its the safest and fastest way to get to The MTA / Javitts center. *MTA = Subway
WHAT TO DO: Get on The MTA Subway (Do not waste your time on a bus)
* If you park in Greenpoint Take The G Train at Nassau Ave... to Metropolitan Ave... then Transfer to The L. I recommend though to walk to Bedford Ave... itll be alot faster... however its 1 mile away. Walk Nassau Ave... past McCarren Park.... Street changes to Bedford Ave....
#1. Get on The L Train. at Bedford Ave station.
#2. Take the L train to 14th St Union Square OR 14th st/ 8 Ave Stop. (I recommend The 14th St Union Square Stop - Why? 1,2,3, Trains run faster than A,C, or E. - Plus alot of times A,C,E have service disruptions on weekends and late nights)
#3. Get off at Union Square Square Station .... TRANSFER .... to The 1, 2, or 3 train.
#4. Get off at 34th St! and 7th Ave
#5. Start walking west on 34th St. towards 12th Ave. Trust me its not a long walk. (Its a fast walk for me... then again Im in the military)
#6. The javitts center is between 11th Ave and 12th Ave on 34th Street. Itll be on your right.
WHAT TO TAKE FROM THE AIRPORT:
#1. Do not take Yellow Cabs at all. You will pay a fortune.
#2. Make sure its a Black Car service... I personally recommend Vital Transportation (Used to work there) very good ... very very professional. 718 472-2800. If you have any problems speak to Smoke or Paul (dispatchers)
#3. If you want to save alot of money ... Take The MTA.... Take The A Train Straight From JFK Airport to 34th St station. LA GUARDIA AIrport: Take The 7 Train to 34th St Station. (you might have to take a cab or air shuttle to 7 Train / A Train)
WHAT NOT TO EAT:
Dont eat from Street Vendors. I recommend eating from well established places. If you need some recommendations Ill give you some... Email me @ JeanUSARMYGUARD@yahoo.com
WHAT NOT TO BUY:
SUBWAY: Make sure you buy a ALL DAY PASS.... it should be like $7 bucks... last time I checked. That gets you on the subway all day for 7 bucks.
Do not buy single fare... youll end up spending 2 bucks after 2 bucks after 2 bucks after 2 bucks.
WHAT TO DO IN THE CITY:
The USS Intrepid is a block away. Its a VERY historic WW2 Essex Class Aircraft Carrier. Be sure to visit it. She just had a renovation to the whole ship.
Stop by Heartland Brewery on 14th St / Union Square. Good burgers / Great Beer ;)
Stop by BBQ and BBQ Dallas ... Great chicken... AMAZING Margaritas ;)
Stop by Katz's Delicatessen .... Historic and AMAZING Deli food you will ever taste
Comedy: Stop by HA Comedy Club ... Its on 46th st and 7th Ave. Funny comedians. MAKE SURE YOU stop by Times Square First .... they hand out coupons (I think its 3 dollars off).... * If your in The US Military.... you get in free
WHAT TO DO IN BROOKLYN
Stop by Bay Ridge... theres some Bars there... Do not drive there... parking is very rare.
Stop by Williamsburg (The North Side - N6 to N12th Sts)... alot of bars, karoke, great food.
If you have any questions let me know ... email JeanUSARMYGUARD@yahoo.com

Thanks Zach for posting this, I can't believe they didn't post this in the forum for us to talk about...

But can't wait to get my special STO ID Badge:cool: I just hope there's a beta to go with it or an application for one... hehe:D Hell, I'll like to buy a slot, lol:p Anyways, looking forward seeing Euros and Eve Myers from Torchwood and I hope Colin Baker will be there too, from Doctor Who. I don't mine getting a photo Op with them and Cryptic Studios.

Lotus Fleet will be @ the Comic Con in NYC, now Cryptic did in fact inspire me to join Twitter for everyone's enjoyment, now while Cryptic will be Twittering from a Dev perspective, I will be twittering from a gamer and someone who is left in the dark perspective, just like all of you!!
Any who, in anticipation of our away mission to the NYC Comic Con this Saturday, I have setup a Twitter to keep members up to date on what's going on throughout the day, what we're doing, and what we're seeing. You can visit the Twitter @ http://twitter.com/Raven0238 . This WILL be updated the entire day, so keep your eyes glued to the screen!

Daisy May's BBQ USA and Hill Country are better BBQ places than Dallas BBQ, as they specialize in real BBQ, the kind of BBQ you get at BBQ competitions. Dallas BBQ just has steamed baby back ribs, burgers, etc, you know big plates and bigger drinks. Those baby back ribs are actually pretty good. Houstons is like Dallas BBQ, while their baby back ribs are better at Dallas BBQ, everything else is better at Houstons: service, ambiance, and other menu items are all better, just a lot more costly. So, that depends on how casual you like it and what you have to spend, and the specific type of BBQ you want. I do like Dallas BBQ's Texas size Margarita.
Pastrami Queen has better pastrami than Katz's and is less of a zoo. Although, Katz's is an interesting experience if you're in the neighborhood. I eat there maybe once a year, since you don't need to eat for the rest of the year after eating there.
If you like Japanese, I suggest Ippudo and Sobaya, for Ramen and Soba respectively. For sushi, Hatsuhana used to be excellent, although I've heard it has declined in quality.
For Greek, Kefi.
For doughnuts, Doughnut Plant. They're the guys who supply the giant doughnuts to Dean & Deluca.
Burgers, I like 5 Napkin Burgers' 5 Napkin Burger. Yeah, the place is named after the burger.
Prosperity Dumpling has this sesemi bread thing full of meat that's delicious. They also have five dumplings for a dollar. Joe's Shanghai has the famous Soup Dumplings, otherwise known as steamed pork buns, there are all sorts of different pork buns, I mean completely different ones, this is the place to go for the soup ones. Also, I love their Shanghai Style Beef with Been Curd. And there is an arcade just a couple blocks from there, as well as another dollar dumpling place nearby on Mosco St.
Go to the MET, if the main entrance is busy, just use the side entrance, left of the big staircase. The entrance fee is only suggested, that means you can pay whatever you want. My friend and I usually pay a few cents to enter.:p

I'll very likely be at the Comic Con tomorrow (Sat. Feb. 6). I already purchased my ticket online and the only thing that might prevent me from attending is that my dad just had a medical procedure performed at a hospital today. Fortunately, verything is looking very good for him so far. The procedure was a success and he'll be released tomorrow morning barring any unforseen complications. If he is fine tomorrow then I should have no problem going to the Comic Con.
I live in Manhattan and I can almost walk over to the Javits Center from my home. I'm very much looking forward to going and meeting some of my fellow STO Forum members. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions about Manhattan.
I'll be at the Con! : )

Were you there yesterday? If so, we might have met, or you might have seen me, I was the big tall guy in the baby blue jacket with long hair. I also won two T-shirts that can't fit me. It's a comic convention, why don't you have XXL!?;)
I think I'll go again tomorrow, maybe win some more loot, and play some more unreleased video games.

So Lotus Fleet sent and away team to NYC to hook up with Cryptic and hang out. STO was the only reason we went.
I'm editing this to include the story I posted on lotus fleet forums as requested by LrdNova. He thought some of you might find it interesting. So here goes.
I thought I might write a little bit of our away team mission to NYC as I saw it.
I arrived at Grand Central Station at around 9:20AM or so. Walked around the block in the cold and windy city and met with Raven at about 9:40AM or so, and we proceed to meet up with Elijah. We hooked up and hoofed it over to Penn Station to meet with LrdNova.
We found LrdNova (His 1st time in NY) in front of Penn near Madison Square Garden where he was in shock to see a homeless person beg for money (A common sight in NY), and then he got the pleasure of watching a bum fight. All within the 1st 15 minutes of his arriving to NY.
We stopped for coffee @ Starbucks then headed to ComicCon NY at the Javitts Center. The crowds were unreal. When I went up to get my ticket scanned the lady told me it was a good thing I had bought my ticket online as they were sold out. There was an unreal amount of people. If you are claustrophobic you would have had a hard time.
Once we got our badges and LrdNova headed for the press area (I must admit I felt a twinge of jealousy) as Raven, Elijah, and Myself Bee-Lined it for the Cryptic Booth.
The booth wasn’t too large and we hovered around it for a couple of hours getting T-Shirts, Bumper Stickers, and talking to Awen. We also got beta keys for Champions Online, and I got a badge of myself as a Superhero while I was there. I’ll scan that tomorrow for you folks to see.
LrdNova interviewed Craig from Cryptic while we hung around some more. After he was done with the interview we hung around even some more. At this point Elijah hadn’t gotten a T-Shirt and they were having a contest to get the shirt if you could decipher what the Klingon T-Shirt said. Nova whipped out his phone, and we all searched for the answer in the Klingon dictionary. Nova and Elijah figured it out and Cryptic was all into our efforts. It was in all honesty great fun.
After while Elijah we decided to check out the rest of the show some. We lost Raven within 1 minute in the crowd and Elijah and I walked around. It wasn’t long before we found ourselves back at the cryptic booth. By now they all recognize us and probobly were rolling thier eyes at us ;)
We went downstairs and grabbed lunch. I don’t know about anyone else but my lunch wasn’t very good. Soon enough it was time for the super secret roundtable meeting. We all headed over and started the event. I must say it was great fun and Cryptic was pretty awesome about the whole thing.
People asked questions and Cryptic did a good job of answering. They had some prize giveaways and One of the questions was to name a Superhero. The winner of a Champions Online Skateboard was Captain Spiffy. They gave away a 2nd Skateboard and the question was to name your STO Ship. Elijah came up with the USS Fabulous and he won the second skateboard in which he had signed by the Devs.
The Devs signed a bunch of bumper stickers and passed them out. They also asked questions about how many questions we had asked etc to win Cryptic shoulder bags. I won one as did I believe Elijah and Raven. We also had them signed by the Devs. I must again say that the Cryptic people were awesome. I’m sure they answered the same questions over and over again all week-end long and it had to be grueling.
Once that show was done I grabbed the cryptic sign (A large sticker, poster sized) as they had left them on the table after the show. I gave this to Nova for the fleet. We then went back to the Cryptic booth (God they must have been sick of us). After a few minutes we went off to a quiet area where Nova did his live Hailing Frequency broadcast. When they handed me the phone I had no idea what to say, and well you probably heard what I said.
At 3PM there was another event with new STO footage (The character creator). We hung out there, watched the footage and you guessed it, headed back to the Cryptic booth! We got a picture with CraigZ from Cryptic and the poor dudes voice was almost gone. He and the whole Cryptic crew were incredibly accomidating.
After that we decided to finish up and go have something to eat. We ended up at Dave and Busters. We drank, and ate (The food was awesome), and then went to play some games. After the festivities we said our goodbyes and headed out of NYC. For me my train left at 8:07PM. I was tired for sure.
I was a little worried about meeting command staff to be honest. What I found were 3 awesome guys with real personalities. Everyone was awesome and interesting. Nova was great and you can tell he’s a natural born leader. Raven was tall <grin> very nice, and professional. A really good dude. Elijah was just excellent and funny. I had a great time and would do it again with the same people anytime.
In retrospect I wish I would have taken more pictures. This was my 1st ComicCon and I found it a little intimidating. There were some stunning women, and some great costumes that I wish I could have shown you. I swear next time I’ll be a picture taking machine.
Everyone at cryptic deserves cudo's though as they were patient and accomidating. They did a great job and overall we had a great day. Thank you Cryptic and especially CraigZ and Awen!
So that concludes my report. I hope you found the read at the very least informative and interesting. Maybe we’ll see you at the next one!
Sincerely
Lt Commander Stormnet
