Way too excited?

Honestly, I'm so excited for this game that I don't even want to play other games anymore. No other MMOs, no console games, no pc games... I don't even want to play board games!

I have seriously lost all wish to play any game but STO. In past years i haven't really kept up with my Star Trek obsession, but now it's back and raring to go. I watched season 6 of Voyager and I've started watching DS9 so i can see the Dominion War since I pretty much missed it when it was on Spike.

Do any of you guys feel like this? I don't wanna play WoW, I just wanna watch Star Trek and play STO! Haha.

I am not playing any MMO's either but its mostly because I don't have as much time as I used to and what time I do have I don't want to spend it on that game when I know I'm going to quit soon as this is released.

I too am watching ST episodes and of course Awaiting the last of the BattleStar Galactica series to start showing.

I'll find my self playing a heavily modded version of STL for a game or 2 a day. Other than that I too find myself not interested in too many other games coming out.

Actually like the Whitestar ship mod they have on Legacy files, its an amazing ship from the Babylon 5 series and owns all the Star trek Vessels hardcore just as it would if those 2series were to collide in battle.

I've been looking to give STL a try just because I need a Trek game to play! I got bored of WoW and picked up Everquest 2 to see if it's WoW that's boring me but I found out it's Star Trek that's corrupting me! I need my fix!

I know how you feel. I was watching Voyager and DS9 on Spike until the past week they did away with DS9 and put Voyager on at 3am. I have most of Voyager and TNG on DVD, but I was getting into DS9 again. Ive lost any desire to play other mmos at the moment and cant wait to get into STO. Good thing we only have to wait till the fall(unless pushed back:().

Blah you will be waiting a longtime then twiddling your thumbs- the way mmo's are released these days it wotn be out till around 2011 or 2012 - in the meantime there are mnay other mmo's coming out that are mind blowinglly good looking - Earthrise- stargate worlds -those are 2 sci-fi based mmo's that can give you your scfi fix till sto comes out in a few years - i jsut hope they keep with the times and bring us better looking graphics then the cartoony explosions of the ships in space- eve online is old but boy do the spaceships look cool when tey explode- you can almost feel the explosion when your near one.

We have the technology now to make a good looking space mmo- dont let us down with crappy graphics and dodgy looking space battles that look like its from legacy or the old star trek armada games( which that explosion reminded me of)

Well STL actually sucks big time. I dont recommend getting it if you haven't wasted your money on it already. Even heavily modded versions make me able to stand it for only 1 or 2 games at a time. I just like seeing the ships and general will pick something small againts an oponent that outmatches me, or one of the big ships and have me face 4 other ships.

Sadly there is no tactical gameplay in STL other than tricking a computer to go through a nebula that knocks out your shields.

However, any sci fi MMOs that are coming out before STO I may give a try, just because I want to play a sci fi MMO but would rather punt a baby than play EVE.

from the interview on the webcast- guy said 3-4 years from 2008- so if he was telling a white lie and from the looks of the actual gameplay footage- not to mention they bringing out another mmo this year, then by that i would say somewhere around mid 2009 to anywhere around 2012 at the very latest ( though by that time the graphics will be seriouslly outdated) :P look how technology has jumped in the last few years from single core cpu's to quad cores that are relativelly inexpensive- most households can afford a mid to top end machine

Actually Jack Emmert said at the Convention "Less than three Years" and "sooner than you think" at all the planned End 2009 release was leaked and then affirmed again after Atari took over, that they are still aiming for an end-2009 release...

And yeah... I know how you feel evan... I pulled out all my old ST Games (found Starfleet Command 1 Gold Edition ^^) and to gain every episode to watch till STO and no other games than ST ones can catch me at the moment...
