Hi everyone,

This is my first post and I'm looking forward to being part of the community.

The release of the NX-91001 on this site got me thinking. What happens if you want to roleplay a Captain of a lesser ship? Instead of being forced to select a Soverign class upon hitting the level cap will we be able to maintain our role on a Defiant class or Steamrunner class or any other type of starship. I basing my knowledge of starships from Star Trek Armada.

Will different ships have different leanings? Such as nebula class being Science/Medical class ships/ Galaxy all rounder and so on. So that at higher levels we will be able to select from several different high level ships?

I personally would like to captain an escort ship whether it be an Akira class or Defiant class during a star fleet battle or hold a more support based role.

Has this been discussed? Or is this part of the skills/playset balance issues yet to be revealed?

Regards,

Bobs Pizza

Well by the sounds of what they have stated in the about part, You will be able to still control what ever ship you want. An just as you level you can upgrade it to keep it good for both offensive and defensive. I'm just wondering if the Normandy class is gonna be in it because that ship could use escort ships. :D

Hi there,

Yes it has been said that you can you can pilot any of the available ships and at a certian point more than lkely when you have done certian missions based on your class and the way you go in game then you upgrade but theres nothing saying you have to but i believe you may like support craft now and im sure youll get your support craft in game but im sure once you get to the highest use of it and once you get to grips with it and have had many battles with the Borg and Klingons and everthing im sure you might then be interested to upgrade and become better and stronger and also having a powerfull ship dosnt mean you cant still be a support !!

Just as your in the best ship in the fleet dosnt mean you have to go out all guns blazing at the head of the pack.

theres many options

As a fan of VOYAGER and Janeway (in my view the best of startrek ever) i am really excited about having an Intrepid class ship but then im sure once ive got her and been impressed with her and used her in several ways ill possibly upgrade up to the best ..

Im not sure but im just saying dont make your mind up till your in the game with your ship at your finger tips

we will see in time what we can do with the ships I am sheer the ships will have some kind of mas son olny so much mass can be on a ship at a time.

what I was trying to say is smaller ships have less mass then the bigger ships just like in SWG.

Eh, might be a scientific skill or engineering or both skill where you will be able to have more Mass in your ships or have diffrent versions of the ship with more mass. Something like that.
