Say what you want/hope to see in STO in this single, solitary thread. (I'm surprised no one made a thread like this)

For the most part, STO has everything I want. But I would like to see some kind of diversity in uniforms. Mainly different variations (on account that Starfleet has had two or three different uniform designs in use at one time).

Another thing I would like are neutral starbases and planets where players of opposite factions are not allowed to kill each other.

Well everyone knows I want uniform diversity. To go one further I want hats! Seriously I can't imagine there are no hats in the 25th century. Now I'm fine with making 'em military style hats to go with uniforms, but give me some damn hats.

I also want customization or decorating rather my interior spaces. I'd love to customize my bridge by mixing and matching different styles and also decorate my "personal" areas with trinkets from missions.

I don't think this is going to be a pg18 game :p

I think the big word for me is also customization. And an easy to manage UI.

Maybe having your own ready room, or quaters where you can decorate with artifacts or weapons or other trophies from missions. I would love a customisable ready room.

Also, for my wish list. I'm hoping for a variety of uniforms we can switch between. We know from the different series that desert climate, extreme cold, covert ops, and different situations have different uniforms, perhaps we can have them automatically change if we beam down to a desert for example.

I do agree. I would love different uniforms as well. But haveing neutral zones to enforce no fighting areas? Hmmmm. I have to disagree on that one. I like the edge.

I'd love uniform diversity, along with ubercustomization of personal areas (ready room, etc)and I would love to see a lot (and when I say a lot, I mean like an a$$load) of vanity items/collectibles, would be great if many of them can be learned "crafting recipes" too.

Also, I'd love for the game to be kind to those of us who, by circumstance, end up having to play solo a good deal of the time...in the way of the good stuff being within reach. By personal situation I can't really play for hours on end, or during peak times, so I'll end up solo/small grouping alot of the time, I'd like to think my Intrepid class ship will still be attainable in a reasonable amount of time.:D

No worries friend..Their some Fleets here forming to help out those who may need some help in a fight or those being attack.

Hopefully Cryptic will stick with what Jack said and make the game accessible to a large portion of the gaming culture.

I think this is a good idea, especially in the Captain's quarters, the "Ready Room" and areas like the lounge (ie Ten Forward). It would be cool to do that. I just hope we get to choose from various bridge layouts and styles from Prometheus style, to Enterprise D, E and maybe even the older Enterprises like the NX-01 (I love that bridge).

We'll see soon enough, I just hope they do really listen to the fans.

The number one thing that I want to see in the game is a lot of opportunity for player interaction, both combat and non-combat, including areas that would help to stimulate roleplaying.

the ability to replay ship battles in slow motion and track photon torpedos and impacts. Call me a dork :P
Customization as mentioned above and Varr had a good point I have never thought about...Where ARE all the hats??

Well, considering all the weird-ass stuff that happens in Trek, there was probably an alien species with the appearance of hats that invaded known space and took control of those they landed on. After a long and ****** war, the hat invaders retreated back to their home. Laws were made in the governments of the Alpha and Beta quadrants, stating that no one can wear a hat without the proper permits, for fear of a hat actually being an alien. Furthermore, the paranoia caused by the Hatarian Invasion caused many to be skittish around hats.

realy nice customizable living quarters, and ability to customize ships to move around vulnerable parts. and with that targetable weak points on player ships that you have to try and hit.
so much of the fighting in startrek is about hitting the weak points to disable.;)
one more thing, not so much emphasis on pvp. make a good game first and dont depend on the pvp to sustain it. better long term goals are empire building and exploration

All I wish for is that STO will make it feel like I am actually a part of Star Trek, in it, able to be in the Star Trek world and feel like I am making my own story on my journey in STO. I want to be able to start as a low rank and have to work my way up, I want to be able to choose if I want to be a Doctor, a Captain, Security, etc.. I have faith, I do think my expectations will be met, I am looking forward to it.

I don't think that the galaxy should be littered with places where the factions can meet, but one or two would be nice. Someone in an earlier thread suggested Nimbus III (http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Nimbus_III), and I was intrigued.

I'd like to see the game not punishing players who end up solo playing. For those of us who work odd hours or can't be on all the time to group up with our guild mates.

Other than that, possibly a trophey system or prestiege system. :D

That would be nice. Medals and stuff would be nice too. Like people could pull up your info and see all your awards and what not.

I only want one thing that has not been promised yet. I want a viewscreen. I want to hail a ship, see it's captain, engage in technobabble, see the avatar's expression when I say "prime directive" in almost every sentence. Dammit, I want a view screen!

That and to wage war on these Hatarians for threatening to cover up my wonderful head of hair. I hate hat hair on duty.

One other thing I would LOVE to see is to be able to do spacewalks on the outside of your ships (a la First Contact). I can see them not putting in fully detailed ship interiors, but the exterior shouldn't be that hard, should it?

It was on of my favorite scenes from FC, gives you a visual on just how massive the ships really are.

I like this... that being said, I'd be perfectly happy if said missions were limited to like the top of the saucer section of a ship, but that just my opinion.

At the same time as wanting customizaion and a really unique character, this is a Star Trek game, so I wouldn't want to sacrifice anything that makes Star Trek what it is.

ie. It is against the dress code to have Jewlery or bandanas or hats, and the Bridges should be pretty set in stone. As we saw in TNG episode where the Enterprise encounters another Galaxy class starship, the carpets, the wood choices, basic decorative things change...but choosing a Nebula style bridge for an Intrepid class ship would ruin the idea of a class of ship. I also don't believe stations should be moved. Sure we can choose to make a certain station on the bridge for Tactical or Helm or Operations, but I don't believe we should be able to physically move a piece of equipment to rearrange the bridge. Nor shouldwe be able to choose what deck the Medical Bay, Cargo holds, Engineering etc. is on, because those are also defined by the class of ship.

I want customization a great deal, its a important part of every game to me....but I want a Star Trek game, not a game that uses Star Trek, but destroys so much canon and history at the same time (not that I think it will, but some people seem to want it).

I would like to see customizable uniforms and areas of the ship. There may be 20 different types of equipment and items that yuo can mix and match. All within Federation guidelines. Maybe not 100% acurate, but this is one of those little things that make long time players.

Why does this always come up? Given that fact that it is my ship and my crew and you have your own ship and your own crew why does it matter if I follow a different dress code?

I mean Worf gets to wear a sash, but Ro doesn't get to wear her religious jewelry? I'm sorry, but I ignore that stuff because for me I do not see it as actually reflecting anything about Trek, but being plot devices to help create tension.

If you don't like the way my crew looks would it not actually serve as a warning that you and I might not have fun grouping together?

It's a game and a game that will need to please many Trek fans what is wrong with allowing "canon" to be bent in individual cases to allow them to live the Trek experience they want? There would be nothing forcing you to make you crew wear hats or design your bridge in anyway that breaks you're view of "canon".

Perhaps the dress code is flexable, but I was just using it as an example, trying to say that I hope the game developers don't change too much of what Star Trek is.

And no, I don't take anything as a warning, I'm just saying that when I board other peoples ships, interact with other people, etc. I hope to feel like I'm in the Star Trek universe, not playing a game with the option to make it like Star Trek and an option to make it like some twisted Mirror Universe that merely resembles Star Trek.

This is what I don't understand. I suggested that we be allowed to have hats. I even used the caveat that they need to be military style hats: berets, garrison caps, and the like. It is not like I'm suggesting We should be able to wear sombreros or fedoras, at least not outside of the holo-deck. So what I don't understand is with that information in mind how does that bother other players?

It's my crew, its my ship. You can do what you want on your ship and with your crew... why does it matter what I do?

Can someone please explain this to me. If we ask for customization within a certain set of boundaries, but just barely out side those of perceived Trek canon, why does this threaten people so much?

If someone chooses to rp Trek to the point of talking in detail about warp bubbles or omicron particles I'm not going to try to stop them from having the Trek adventure they want, so why stop others from doing similar?
