You have to find a person named LordDave and offer him money, or you first born child.

Yep, you could get there buy playing the spam games that are on general topic forum. Or you could just post normally and get there.
However, I think offering to Lord Dave is still open.

post count or not, your not a senior member unless youve been here since day 1 . Afterall spamming is easily done to achieve a high post count, just taking a look at the ones with over 1000+ posts.

Not to be argumentative, but in the interest of being fair and not letting a little snipe go unchallenged, I bet if you look at all the people with 1000+ posts on this particular forum, you'll see that when taking their entire posting history into account very little of it is "spam". At least I know not all that many of my posts are. I like to have some fun occasionally, but generally I try and contribute to the discussions beyond it being spam. (I'll cop to a lot of them in our fleet thread being kind of spam, but we try and have some fun in there). I definitely know that people like LordDave, Silverspar, USS Parallax, and some other nicks I can't recall off the top of my head, don't often "spam" either. Their posts generally contribute a great deal to the discussions at hand.

Yup I have seen some pretty bad forum's in my time, but this one is well mannered and well moderated.
I can't say for sure it'll stay like that as closer to release date comes :|
But yes senior members at heart are July / August members :P *giggles*

And thankfully. On the old community site almost every one of my posts was edited, moved, deleted, and then every time I signed in it showed me a list of my infractions. That was the single worst message board I had ever used.

True, but a lot of people did not find out about this game day one. I admit I was fully into Warcraft and really did not pay much attention to other MMOs aside from a quick look at AoC. If I had known about this game I would have been here day 1.

other than getting to see the word Senior over your avatar, I see no other advantage
to having a high post count.

Not saying everyone is a spammer by there post count, Im just saying that most likely many of them are.
and yes, you aint a senior member unless youve been here since day one :pWell before making such a statement wouldn't it be prudent to go have a look and see if what you think is actually the case?
I mean it's no big deal really, because post count doesn't mean anything since like on any forum some people post a lot, some don't, and it's no measure of what each person has to say being any more important or valid.
It's just that making a offhand statement like that kind gets things leaning the other way, and intimates that what the people with high post counts have to say isn't as important and valid as what anyone else has to say.

I don't know if that's fair or not. I have been here since before the game changed hands between Perpetual and Cryptic, and though I don't have an inflated post count, I try to make each of my posts "count" by deliberately talking about things that are pertinent to the game, and conducive to educational discourse.
That being said, I have spammed a little in general, just for fun, but could honnestly care less about my overall numbers.
I miss the old STO.net days, because they made the actual posts count toward rank, every 100-200 posts or so you would gain an actual "Rank", and for posts that were in-depth or well thought out, the moderators would hand out little rewards, or special mention.
We also had the ability to attach pictures, jpegs, and other special html to our signatures if we wanted, which was nice, because we could really get to know each other better.
But cest la vie...STO.net died, shortly after Perpetual closed. And maybe hopefully STO.net will be ressurected eventually again someday, but I enjoy posting here just as much now, even though it feels less personal.

Crying out loud mate, relax a bit. Your to tense. No tension here bud. It would probably be better to not try an put emotions into people's posts that aren't there.
You made a flippant statement intended to take a little pot shot at some people. When you do something like that don't act all indignant when you get called on it.

I am not, as in the matter of fact i did check several and my point still stands. However I was not being totally serious with the topic and though the emotes would have made that clear. But your "Serious responses just made me to believe your just getting a bit to tense about this subject.

I think this discourse makes it clear how some people get so many posts. It's not spamming, it's just voicing opinions. And thankfully not everyone agrees, otherwise this would be a dull forum (and yes you can disagree on that too :p).
On topic last I saw it was still 100 posts.
