Since Jayrelo has seemed to have misplaced his thorazine again....:rolleyes: I'll try to answer you . At the Vegas convention they said they were kicking around a Character Generator that might be available as a pre order Bonus.. Key words: "Kicking around" and "Might."

I wanted to know if anyone knew anything and what peoples thoughts were ..... Sorry I didn't ask you first it seems you are a wealth of knowledge.;)

I asked Cryptic and then I asked the people who will be playing.... They are different groups, hence the same question twice.

Oh to be able to link a RL question on the Internet. :D Sorry it wasn't in print form it was asked at the Q&A and that was the Answer. Cryptic did the same thing I believe for CoH and I think that was how the question got asked.

i kinda doubt any sort of out of game character creator/ship creator (ala spore) will be available. they didnt do it for COX and they havent said anything about it in Chapoins.

Ummmm.. Sorry I could be wrong, but I seem to remember being a pre- order Character Generator...let me check downstairs I'm sure I still have the Pre Order Disk in storage.

You can get the Korean version of this online. But the US version isn't avalible online sadly it only came with the pre order disk.

I hope that a character generator is one of the pre-order incentives for the game, because I cannot think of a better way to get excited for the game than to already be making your character as they will appear in the game.

i think it would be a great idea to include a Charater generator as a pre-order gift. It will give you time to play around and make your charater and be happy with it so when the games release you can just jump in. Plus it also gives you something to crave the game even more...:D

Because spore was all based how your creature looked like, its normal they build something like that.
I dont see picard changing from balt to a rastafarian in a second

They can release it for me only if it dosnt slows them down finishing the game

It has come to my attention that Cryptic released a character developer before they released City of Heroes. This leads me to believe that by no stretch of the imagination that we may have a similar release before Beta testing begins for STO. Maybe Awen can put this to rest for all of us.

I for one would like to create my characters now and be able to decide what kind of bridge crew I want to have. If we are truly able to create a new race then we would be able to name them and write about their home world.

Really I just want something to do while I wait for the game. I am itching with anticipation for any new release or information on the game. I am addicted already and I need a little taste of something. If it wasn't for my fleet I would have gone insane six months ago. :eek:

EQ2 had a similar item available in the pre-order; you could fully make your character, and then save it so that you could select the saved character during character creation instead of having to remake one.

they could also do what guild wars did with nightfall pre-order.they had a 24 hour prelaunch for those who bought preorder to try game but when game launched they started everyone back at day 1.

I hope that would not be the case for STO. If you are allowed to play early you should keep what you have earned by playing. If you pre order the game and get to play early that's a benefit of your purchase.

EQ2 also offered this option. I wouldn't be put off if I got to play with it alittle bit before release.
