Cryptic Studios Hockey Team Wins League Championship (November 26, 2008)

On Tuesday, November 25, 2008, the Cryptic Studios Roller Hockey Team culminated their season by winning their League Championship! We had a chance to talk to team members Craig ‘Zinc’ Zinkievich and Aaron ‘Head on a Swivel’ Safronoff about their victory and learn more about the team.

Q: In what type of league does Cryptic complete?
A: CZ - We play in a roller hockey league at Rollin Ice (www.rollinice.com) in San Jose. We play in the D7 league – Rollin Ice says it “consists of almost all beginning players” – but really means mostly people who just learned to skate. : )

Roller hockey, huh? Sounds fun. What are some of those other South Bay-based teams that gave you guys a lot of trouble?

I'd say pack a Type-I phaser (small so the refs don't see it) and bring that to your games from now on. Guaranteed wins! Especially useful vs. Andorians with their unfair grew-up-on-an-ice-planet advantage.

Congrats on the Championship! The Sharks got a nice win over Phoenix the other day. I'll still always pull for the Carolina Hurricanes, no matter how much I like you guys. :P

I'm glad to learn that you guys are engaging in some physical activity that is also a team sport such as roller hockey. Hopefully this will help keep you guys in physical shape - which in turn will keep your minds healthy as well. :) I've never worked on developing a game but I can guess that many of you are putting in long hours and experiencing a great deal of stress. Roller hockey should help relieve some of that stress.
