I don't suspect there will be any ocompa in STO, but I suppose anything is possible. Who knows what they did with the Caretaker gone?

Although being realistic and accurate is good... there does come a point when it goes too far. I highly doubt a mating seasion could be marketted to younger people, plus people would get annoyed if their character wasn't responding properly due to hormones etc. A funny idea but a bad one in practice IMO.

Oh there's a real chance it won't be. Hellgate: London didn't even last a year. Of course, that's mostly owing to their disaster of a subscription model, but still.

Everquest is still going because the players have so much invested, years and years of tedious labor, they can't quit. World of Warcraft has enough players that it may survive for 20 years before it stops being profitable. It's a day I'm looking forward to frankly, I don't think any game should have so much market share. It's bad for competitive spirit.

STO? A niche game that's using a dated engine and has already changed developers. I love it already; I'll play it, but realistically I don't think it will do well.

The video posted in the initial post is quite a memorable moment in Star Trek history (for me, at least) so I think it would be interesting to see something like this in the game, as long as it was handled respectfully.

"Pon farr" is an anagram for "Porn Far", or "Far Porn". Far in latin loosely means "Through".

So: "Through Porn" might be a suggestive meaning behind Vulcan's erratic hormonal behavior.
