Havent found a satisfactory answer after a quick and rudimentary search, was wondering (hoping, praying) Ferengi was a playable race. Anyone heard anything?

Yes the Ferengi will be playable as part of the Federation.

Even if they weren't (but they really are), you could probably create the race that looked like them anyways. :D

hehe na Security. Would be great in countering Smuggling/bribery/extorion rackets. Might be rather profitable as well. ;)

horrible as a tactical officer, though...you could never justify to him that firing those expensive torpedoes was a good idea. Considering the unique way their women are dealt with, though, I think a female Ferengi would be an awesome security officer. That would exert control if you had to see THAT.

He'd have a heart attack any time anything got destroyed on the ship. As an engineer, a Ferengi would make Scotty look like a calm docile kitten.

LOL and being as cheap as they are they would fix everything they could with bubble gum and duck tape.:eek:

Duct Tape my rear...they'd have some new engineering ensign holding hoses together with their hands and wires together with their toes until they got to a Starbase to repair.

Point taken. Crew are cheaper to replace than to buy more bubble gum...especially ensigns.:p

Am partial to a Kizinti (cat race from SFB) captain, working for the Klingon Empire with a mixed
bag of races in my bridge crew and a Ferengi ...er...ordinance supply officer.

Captain - I want a new close range weapon system
Ferengi - Do you care who makes it?
Captain - No
Ferengi - Do you care how I get it?
Captain - No
Ferengi - Does it have to work?
Captain - Yes
Ferengi - mmm How about a lyran damage shield generator?
Captain - hmm heard about them, how much?
Ferengi - 3 crates of Romulan ale, 1 barrel of blood wine and 4 Klingon academy T-shirts
Captain - what are we short on?
Ferengi - the T-shirts
Captain - you heard the man helm, set course for Kronos...
Captain - can you get him to throw in some tech manuals?
Ferengi - he is an it captain and yes it can.
Captain - make it so


I have way to much time on my hands..lol

Ah, the Kizinti. Makes me wish the Kilrathi from Wing Commander were a Trek species, but then no one would like Klingons any more. Oh, and if your only knowledge of the Kilrathi are from the Wing Commander film, I agree, those Kilrathi were just plain retarded.

I hear ya, played out the whole wing commander series.

The Kilrathi would even make a Klingon cringe, they were some REALLY cold cats.

Oh yeah, the Angel scene, Devereaux was her last name I think? Blair's love interest. I think I was probably 13 when I played that on my 3DO. It's been 13 years. They got neutered, though, the next game was fun, but without the Kilrathi as the enemy, it just wasn't nearly as fun as 3 was.
