View Full Version : Klingon Fleet = Klingon, Orion, Gorn, etc ships?

Federation ships are what we all know and will probably stay that way. Predictable but huge in designs. Basically all following those invisible but very defining rules to Federation ship design.

The Klingon fleet has never been as diverse probably due to resources. Well, now they have new "friends". So to counter the lack of Klingon ship designs (though I'm sure there will be new ones too) I'd hope they'd make those Orion, Ghorn, etc ships playable.

Basically while the Federation resembles a fleet made in cooperation using the same technologies the Klingon fleet will resemble a newly accepting but still segregated to an extent faction.

That seem pretty reasonable and probable to me.

Im not trying to be an attention wh*re, here....but didn't I just post this topic thread not two hours ago?
I feel kinda bad for pointing that out, sorry....I don't even mind, I'm just kinda curious what's different between this thread and the other one.

I hope they add ships based of the other races design for the Klingon alliance side. I can see the Gorn using Klingon ships due to being "absorbed" into the empire, but the Nausicans (spelling?) and the Orions are allies, and would make sense to incorporate their ship designs.

The answer would be no.

I definitely wouldn't mind making new kinds of ships available to the Klingon Empire, but I think that in general they should be limited.

I like that idea. As more pirate oriented, the Nausicaan and Orion allies would keep their smaller raider-type ships, being the throwaway ships for the Klingon Imperial Navy. Use them as the first wave to soften up the targets while the Klingons flank the Feds cloaked.

Hmm... I was hoping that all races had the options to choose the federation (lets admit it... basically human) ships or any other races ships... limited to their factions racial ships of course. As seen on many of the series, Vulcans have their own types of ships and so do Andorians.

It'd be awfully dull if all you could make were the human types or klingon types, but from what I hear they're very customizable.

That really makes me wonder. Did the Federation use ships that were a part of a planet that has entered into the Federation? For example, if the Ferengi did enter.. would they still use their Ferengi ships as part of the Federation?

Most likely not. StarFleet uses its own ships for Federation Defense. The Vulcans use there own ship designs for non military and planetary defense only, and not for StarFleet roles. I would bet the Ferengi would use their ships in the same fashion.

Perhaps times change while the Federation is at war, and they need a larger amount of ships capable of warfare. That would increase the player choices of what ships they can use and tweak.

I think a more likely solution there is that they'll use refits of old ships and pull some out of mothballs. At least that's the best way to get in older ships that some people want, but would normally be to old to still be in active duty.

Maybe different races' ships could have different stats. Gorn ships could be powerful but slow, while Orion ships are speedier with weaker weapons.

I would love to see other races ships into the game. Otherwise, why even bother developing the other races? Especially considering you can make your own too...

I for one would love to get my hands on a Vulcan Sh'ran Class starship. Those things look awesome.
