The Away Team

How is the Away team going to be handled? Will most of these be single-player squad missions where the Player-Captain sends NPCs hither-tither-and-yon? Or will we have multi-player missions where Captains from a half-dozen ships beam down to the planet.

This question got me thinking... As a Player, could we create an entire Bridge Crew of semi-PCs. That is have one full time PC being the Captain, and a handful of player created specialists that the Player would control on Away Team missions?

I suspect this question may have already been asked, so feel free to point me to the answer.

I know that they discussed this in a recent Game Informer Magazine issue. Planetary missions will consist of an away team. When the player is by himself, the rest of the away team is comprised of selected members of their bridge crew. When multiple players are on the same mission, the party is comprised of players with the addition of bridge crew up to the maximum number of people allowed in the party. At least that's the way it sounded.

I think that primarily missions will be completed by a group of captains, but I definitely think that some missions will be able to be completed by a single captain with a crew of non-player characters.

Instead of padding your post number, you should really read before you reply. It has been stated by Jack himself that the majority of the missions in the game can be completed by a single player, but that some missions will need you to team up with others to complete them.
