personally i would like to hear TOS fight music/ klingon movie theme played in the background any time a ship v ship battle starts.


maybe even durring ground combat too

It would be nice to able to insert your own theme music or fight music from your MP3 library. That way the game feels more custimized.

I have to say I agree. I know the music is suppose to draw you into the world, but often times I find it simply just a bit annoying.

'Sides, something about a Startfleet captain listening to super "classic" 20th century metal in his private quarters seems cool to me. >.>

OMG the durability on those crafted weapons suxxorz! LOL ;)

I would love it if they could make cheesy combat scenes like in TOS. or for every STar Trek episode for that matter! But I don't know if it would reallly be fun to play.

I would almost think that regular fighting would have to be different that dueling. Different animations, sounds and the like.

Like in most games there are 2 kinds of mobs to fight. The standard fodder, and the harder NPC's that are worth more XP. But you also have Elite/Notorious Monsters that would cause these dueling sessions to occur. Fanfare music, slower animations for more dramatic effects and staggers. And over all bad acting poses for combat! lol

I kinda liked how FFXI had different music for harder NPC battles in game or music dueling. It made it, oh, somehow feel like a special event. Instead of just something that ppl did.

Music would be cool during gameplay but with the option to shut it off. Sometimes it's nice just to hear the beeps of the consoles or the hum of the engines.

I'll keep the music in my ready room/quarters for the most part, unless I'm flying into battle, in which case I'll be piping "Ride of the Valkyries" throughout the entire ship.:D

I do not have any specific music selections in mind, but there are some good ideas in this thread and I really hope that the game contains a mix of both familiar Star Trek themes and new music composed specifically for the game.

I think also having music in different places you go they should have different musics! even musics makes the game fun!

It would be funny if they had a 'cameo' sound effect, such as the Original Star Trek's person vs person combat song. It could play like 1 out of every 500 fights or something. :D

I hope they might even let us have our own music but the only person who puts the music should listen them self but not others. Aww a lovely music in the ship ^^

I believe that I remember them saying that they have a talented composer lined up to do the music. So aside from the prerequisite Alexander Courage fanfare and maybe a few recognizable pieces by Jerry Goldsmith (May he rest in peace), I would expect the rest soundtrack to be all brand new.

While many games I've enjoyed the music and sounds they've incorporated in, given the amount of hours that I tend to put into an MMO, well, it usually ends up getting muted after a point. I'd love for them to add a console menu on your ship/bridge that you could point to a directory where your mp3 files are stored. Would save running an app in the background and alt-tabbing to switch up the playlist, queue new music, etc.
