I don't understand why more wallpapers aren't made for 1440x900, it's one of the more popular resolutions, especially on laptops.

Anyway, they look sweet. Don't know which one to use, but I know I'll put all 4 into a cycle as my screensaver.

Kidding aside, the aspect ratio for 1440x900 is the same as 1680x1050, so you can use that in the interim and set the wallpaper to "Stretch" in Windows (if it's not set to that already). Should still look okay :)

Tested it out, worked a little odd(I think Vista does it somewhat sloppily), so I re-sized it in Photoshop, works great. Still, stretch should work for everybody else.

Im posting a complaint. Generically. I don't want this to be the only thread where someone didn't point out something wasn't canon. It would be lonely. Somethings not right with one of those wallpapers, and I'm going to find it....soon.

I have to say I'm a tad disappointed that the ships could not be in game shots. But they are cool looking ships all the same. Definately a departure from the traditional style seen in the shows.

Thanks for the third one (planet in space). I've always kept my icons on the left side of the screen, and yet every wallpaper I''ve seen puts interesting stuff on the left edge -- stuff which gets obscured by my icons.

Finally someone made a wallpaper which puts the coolest bits to the right, where I have the empty space to fill.

using the one with the building on it. it appears to be a klingon type place. if you look at the bottom left near the out-building there are 2 (npc's?) next to it, look like klingons to me. hard to say though.

This is actually the same as the cover on the latest Game Informer as well.

The ship in the foreground looks like a refit Sovereign class ship, but the registry number begins with NX, which makes it seem like it's a prototype for another class. A mess up on the artist's part, or is Cryptic simply making another ship class that looks awfully like the Sovereign? We may never know until the game's launch. =)

I like the starship wallpaper but I could go without the border and maybe the label. Hope we get some more starship wallpapers.

The border around the wallpaper is too distracting and the STO label on top is too big. It could be made smaller and put in a corner or gotten rid of entirely. First rule of photography, make the picture all about the object(s) in it. Too much background or anything in the foreground will distract from what you want someone to look at.

I've done the same :D and don't you think that skill would be better at Tactical? A good CTO would mean less redshirts dying from an attack because the Chief Tactical Officer is an idiot that can barely fire a hand phaser, much less fire the ship's phasers... but that's not very fun, is it? Squirm, little redshirts, SQUIRM!

Here is a gift to all the star trek fans out there that did not know about this new project. www.startrekofgodsandmen.com This is a low budget movie directed by Tim Russ who also played Tuvok. Considering that it is a low budget movie I found it very good. I don't want to spoil anything but you are going to find a lot of familiar characters in this movie. It is about one hour a thirty minutes long. Like I said, it is a low budget movie but it was done nicely. I am a big Star Trek fan and I have to be honest that I loved it.
